Suiran, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Kyoto Reviews

The hotel is nested in a quiet corner, within walking distance of Sagaogurayama Tabuchiyamacho. Im however a bit disappointed with the limited facilites it offered when compared to the price we paid. We stayed in the Tsukinone Twin Room which is on the third floor of the building. The view is pleasant. The room is of decent size. Yet there were no public onsens. We need to pay YEN5000 for 45 minutes and there are only 2 private onsens. For more luxurious rooms with private onsen, the one I visited was on the ground level with no views as it were by the pathway to the reception , separated by wooden planks. We paid around Yen5000 for the breakfast in the hotel, Both western and japanese breakfasts were offered. We tried both. It is of standard. The 4 different juices presented on the top of the bento box was impressive. The vaccinity is pleasant. We could walk to the train station, the tourist rown area , the nearby parks and the world heritage sites. Nice area .

The location is the best in Arashiyama. It sits right next to Katsura River. We enjoy the welcome drink with a very good view of the river. The food is excellent, and staffs are very friendly and helpful.

High-quality hotel, elegant and comfortable. There is a lady at the front desk who speaks a little Chinese. She introduced the hotel in detail and gave suggestions for nearby sightseeing. She marked them on a small map and gave them to the guests. The room with private bath was very satisfying. Also, the hotel restaurant was great.

Super good, the main feature is the atmosphere, the room decoration is average, enough, mainly the geographical location and the convenient experience of walking in Arashiyama, the attitude of the service staff is super good, recommended!

The hotel's Wi-Fi is very poor, and the signal is intermittent. There is no signal in the room. Very uncomfortable😣 In addition, the hotel does not have Chinese service. I booked two single rooms for 2 nights and the cost was nearly 30,000 RMB.

The hotel environment and service are impeccable, but the old facilities are a bit high for the price.

Suilan Hotel is located in the core of Arashiyama. As for the scenery of Arashiyama, it is completely exaggerated. As for its famous attractions such as Togetsukyo Bridge and Bamboo Path, there are many places in Zhejiang that can surpass this place. Therefore, the landscape value of this hotel is greatly discounted. Moreover, the hotel is positioned in a completely Japanese style, which is not worthy of its name. It is very small, with only 2-3 ancient trees that look like Japanese style. The room is completely a common standard room style, without any Japanese characteristics. Bedding such as quilts and pillows are not as good as normal five-star hotels. Therefore, even for tourists who have no budget restrictions, I do not recommend staying in this hotel at all. For the same price, you may feel much better staying at the Ritz-Carlton or Four Seasons in the city. In short, in my travel experience around the world, I have never had the experience of staying in a luxury hotel with such a low cost performance and such a big contrast in experience. So,

The room is very beautiful. I originally wanted to see the cherry blossoms, but the weather was cold this year and it rained every day. It would be more beautiful if it was the cherry blossom season. Now there is a flower blooming in the yard

I dragged my three kids into a Japanese-style courtyard room in 101. I chose Cuilan mainly because I wanted to experience a traditional Japanese-style room and live in a secluded place. The overall experience was surprisingly good~ Facilities: The hotel is exquisite and small. We only went to the restaurant and the tea and wine hall at the entrance. We are not sure about the rest. Hygiene: very clean Environment: Small and exquisite, the view of the courtyard is limited in winter. There is a plum tree in bloom inside the house. Service: Full marks 💯
