The location is the best in Arashiyama. It sits right next to Katsura River. We enjoy the welcome drink with a very good view of the river. The food is excellent, and staffs are very friendly and helpful.

The hotel's Wi-Fi is very poor, and the signal is intermittent. There is no signal in the room. Very uncomfortable😣 In addition, the hotel does not have Chinese service. I booked two single rooms for 2 nights and the cost was nearly 30,000 RMB.

I dragged my three kids into a Japanese-style courtyard room in 101. I chose Cuilan mainly because I wanted to experience a traditional Japanese-style room and live in a secluded place. The overall experience was surprisingly good~ Facilities: The hotel is exquisite and small. We only went to the restaurant and the tea and wine hall at the entrance. We are not sure about the rest. Hygiene: very clean Environment: Small and exquisite, the view of the courtyard is limited in winter. There is a plum tree in bloom inside the house. Service: Full marks 💯

There's nothing wrong with it except that it's expensive. There is the Fukuda Art Museum next to it, and the hotel also provides free transportation to the next hotel in Kyoto. I stay at this hotel every year for my birthday.

Visiting during the red leaf season, I can only say that from the perspective of location for maple viewing, there may be no better choice than Cuilan. All major maple viewing spots are within easy reach. The Togetsukyo Bridge across the wall is crowded with tourists, and the hotel is elegant and quiet. Full marks for service staff and cleanliness. Although the hotel breakfast is not as rich as the buffet, it is better than the quality. The only thing is that the price/performance ratio for dinner is slightly lower.
