This is an old facility with questionable plumbing. Needs some TLC. The majority of the staff is courteous. Unfortunately the weather was drizzly and the midges were ferocious. The dining was good and breakfast was a nice buffet. All amenities are extra $
Response from Property: Dear Lincam, Thank you so much for your recent stay & your feedback. We look forward to welcoming you sometime again in the future. Yours Sincerely, Puneet Asawa Hotel Manager

The most incredible location imaginable. This hotel is set in the most perfect scenery. Beautiful hotel, room was immaculate. High quality bedding and a great night sleep. Staff are friendly and service is great. Dinner in the restaurant on two nights and everything was gorgeous. Breakfast buffet is impressive. Sitting on your balcony or the terrace or any of the seats on the private beach is just heaven. I cannot wait to go back

I can vouch for the cabins, they are wonderful! Two big en suite bedrooms upstairs; kitchen, dining room, living room downstairs. Incredible views of the loch. We were just 100 ft from water’s edge. There was construction in the main hotel, so they moved us here. What a stroke of luck! The cabins seem new and are very clean. They’re like little houses rather than cabins. Service here is great, and so is the spa, which is right inside the hotel. Only 2 things to consider: The pictures make it look like this lodge is very isolated and quiet, but it is right on the main road. Didn’t bother us, but our room was in the loch side. Also, our original room inside the main hotel (before we moved) was smaller than I’d expected from the photos.

Am delighted to learn that you thoroughly enjoyed the time that you spent at our on-site spa and that your dining experience at our hotel was equally enjoyable. While you stayed with us we were trying to add a few newer facilities for resident guests such as the Gym, Sauna & Hot Tub all of which are ready now so I thank you for your understanding. The entire team at Blacksheep Cabin looks forward to welcoming you again sometime soon, for a little more leisurely stay next time and to try some of our new facilities. Thought this place was over priced for the location and standard of the facilities. The views are nice but the pizza bar was not opened when we were there and we couldn’t get a drink on the out door deck area which was a bit weird because it was advertised.

We had the pleasure of staying at one of the cabins here. The cabins right off the loch was breathtaking. They were very well appointed, clean, and had everything one needs. The staff was very helpful and courteous. I wish we would have stayed here longer.

A beautiful hotel in an even more beautiful surrounding. The loch and the pebble beach was a highlight. The room itself was quite dated, and the lack of air con meant it was very warm. We were put in a disabled room so the bathroom was a wet-room so soaking after a shower which was quite inconvenient. Hotel itself was relatively loud, with staff door and another door right outside the room leading to a fair bit of noise. Door to room needed to be jammed with paper to stop it shuddering. Earplugs necessary. Friendly staff and Good breakfast.

Hotel was very nice. Good attention to detail and the staff were very friendly, What let the hotel down was our room, we stayed in room 19 which was sold to us as a Delux room, It was very very small, they have a small double so not sure how small that must be as we could not move in our room, There was also what looked like a smoke detector with a green light right above the bed which light the room up so my husband had no sleep at all. Dinner was fabulous and the highlight! Breakfast was a bit disappointing as we sat down ate our breakfast then was offered black pudding sausage etc that was not out with the buffet after we finished eating instead of being advised at the start, I would go back and give them another go as it was very nice Hotel I would just make sure I had a big room.
Response from Property: Dear Gillian, Many thanks for your recent stay with us and your feedback We are delighted to learn that you were overall impressed by the Hotel facilities & that you found our team members sincerely caring & warm. In regards to your feedback about room size, I would like to apprise you that Whispering Pine Lodge is a boutique hotel where room sizes/décor can vary even in the same category, the category you booked had fairly bigger other rooms overlooking the mountains but since at check-in, you mentioned your desire to stay in the room with a Loch view this particular room was offered to you. Further am disappointed to hear about your breakfast experience, please be rest assured that your feedback has been noted well and has been addressed with the team. We are thankful for your recent visit & entire team at Whispering Pine Lodge looks forward to welcoming you shortly again. Yours Sincerely, Puneet Asawa Hotel Manager

Absolutely incredible hotel! Such lovely rooms, super clean, lovely touches in the room. The turn down in the evening with tunnocks tea cakes left on the bed. Bed super comfy and large, great powerful shower. Breakfast was amazing, a true gem. My partner is coeliac and they had so many options for him. Can’t wait to stay again.

Arrived at the hotel around 4pm and were given the Queen of Scot’s suite as an upgrade and wow what a room. The size and quality of the room was brilliant and the views are stunning. Dinner in the restaurant is a must with great service and attentive staff and high quality foods. Again the pre charged service fee was applied which I had removed as it is just not right and should be illegal. The buffet breakfast the next morning ticks all of the boxes and set us up for a great day ahead. Overall the venue is out of this world so please stay here.

This place is awesome. Great customer service, fantastic food and a stunning setting. We stayed for one night and loved everything about the hotel. From the fires in the bedroom to the wonderful bar. We want to come back in April when next up from London.

An Exceptional visit, from the moment I first spoke to the Hotel Manager Puneet Asawa, I had a good feeling about this place and the booking- I was not disappointed and it indeed exceeded my expectations; set in stunning Highland scenery with breathtaking and ever changing Loch and mountain views. We stayed in a balcony room, which was very well appointed with the luxury of underfloor heating throughout (no ugly radiators!), and breathtaking loch views. The Hotel in general has been thoroughly modernised- but in a tasteful and respectful way- honouring the old Scottish traditions and decoration; it was very clean and well maintained. Magically lit at night, which was particularly appealing, given the time of year. It also has its own private pebble beach, great for our dog swimming! (they accept dogs- which is just as well otherwise we would not have been able to visit), and photographic opportunities. All the staff were wonderful, friendly, smiley and helpful; in particular Puneet, was very welcoming and professional. The main dining room has a warm and airy feel, with fantastic ever-changing views, through full length glass windows, of loch and mountains. On the first morning breakfast was individually cooked and brought to the table (as the hotel was relatively quiet)- this was cooked to perfection, on the other mornings, as they were busier- a buffet style was available- this wasn’t quite as good- but still of a good quality (I perfectly understand that, it is not practical to individually cook breakfasts, when they are busy); in all cases the choice was good and the service excellent throughout. The menu in the evening specialises in Indian food, Scottish/UK and European menus were also available; I have attained a fair degree of competency in the cooking of Indian food myself- all be it in an amateur capacity, as a consequence of this, I am often disappointed when eating out, not in this case! The potato and cauliflower biryani was of exceptional quality, in terms of presentation, spicing and quality and quantity – it was indeed quite something special- that I have been unable to recreate at home!! The restaurant service was also very good, as was the house red wine- which they hold back for the next evening- if you don’t finish the whole bottle on the first night. The restaurant food and wine prices are a little ‘toppy’, but the quality and service are excellent. One nice touch, in the afternoon a young man would come to our room and offer complimentary bottled water and a cake, this was appreciated. The hotel has an onsite spar treatment rooms, which my Wife commented were excellent. All in all, a big thank you to all the staff, we had a most enjoyable stay, certainly the best Hotel we have stayed at in the UK.

You can't go wrong staying here, we returned today after a weekend away with our dog. The room was great, it had a stunning view of the mountain. The location is great, just 20 minutes from Fort William. The bed was comfortable and Luna (dog) had a welcome pack when we arrived which was a lovely touch! The room was very clean and we loved the decor. There is a private beach which Luna loved. The menu at dinner had a great selection, we love curry, and there was some traditional meals to choose from too. The service at breakfast and dinner was wonderful, we didn't notice the names but all staff that we saw were smiley and friendly. One in particular remembered Luna's name which resulted in a waggy tail! There was even a turndown service where we got a Tunnock's teacake and a couple of bottles of water which was great. After a long and wet walk yesterday we returned to the hotel to find complimentary afternoon tea, much needed to warm up and get a delicious cake and hot chocolate, another lovely touch. Definitely worth a stay.
