We booked for an overnight & evening meal was greeted by Mrs D who confirmed our table in heaven, we then met Eric who gave us the grand tour of the amazing wine cellar. Have to say you won’t find a better steak in the U.K. If your looking for quality and don’t mind paying a bit extra it’s sure a well worth experience, all staff we met couldn’t do enough to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable l guess it’s down to Mrs D being attentive. Thank you all the best 2024. H & A

We ate at the restaurant. It's a special place. Full of history and heritage. Perfectly executed, top-quality steak and chips. Magnificent, reasonably priced wine-list including a good range of mature vintages. Will stay over next time as the rooms also sound splendid.

If you love steak you must visit Champany Inn. We went as a family of four and all of us decided to go for T bone steak. They arrived promptly cooked to absolute perfection along with our sides which include chip shop style chips (We have been visiting this restaurant for years and to this day I wish I knew how they marinade the steak). You must book a table here to guarantee a dining slot, this just goes to show how popular the restaurant is! The service for our meal was excellent. The Staff could not do enough for us and were attentive from the moment we entered the restaurant. The decor is of a certain vintage, which adds to the atmosphere however it could do with a refresh in places. The menu is modern and varied, catering to everyone’s taste and budget.

Used to live near Linlithgow and we often came to both the main restaurant and to the Chop House (unfortunately still closed post Covid). We would stay at Champany Inn itself for special occasions. Back in the area as tourists, we booked to stay here and it was absolutely charming. Very welcoming staff, lovely comfortable accommodation, fantastic breakfasts and wonderful dining in the historic restaurant. My only minor, minor comment would be that the bathrooms (although scrupulously clean, spacious, functional with hot powerful showers) could do with a refresh. But that is it. I recommend Champany to everybody I talk to and urge people looking at hotels in this area to give the Inn a go. You won't regret it. Often things change and are never quite as good as you remember - Champany Inn does not let you down.

Was “greeted” at the door with a firm “no” when we asked if it was possible to have a drink - fair if the policy is no, but surely the waiters should have some class. We had thought about visiting for food and planned on checking out the menu, but after being treated like vermin for asking for a drink we will never be back to try it. Note to management - you may want to teach your staff simple manners. A simple “sorry we don’t do just drinks” would have sufficed. Unfortunately I am unable to give a full review of your establishment as I wasn’t even allowed to enter, due to the rude incompetence of your front of house staff. I hope others see this and don’t even think about indulging in what you have to offer - the waiters probably won’t let them in anyway. Shocking service.

We booked to stay overnight as we were having a family meal in the restaurant that evening. We arrived just after 2pm and were immediately struck by the setting and the lovely gardens. At check in the staff were extremely friendly, and the room itself was just wonderful. Loved the decor, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The en suite may be a wee bit in need of an update, but both bath and shower were excellent. Heading for drinks while our family gathered, we found the service to be extremely attentive, courteous and welcoming. But the best was yet to be! What a meal! Utterly wonderful steaks of great quality and so beautifully cooked. Friendly, knowledgeable and attentive staff added to the experience. Drinks after dinner and we stayed up late chatting with each other, with staff, with the owner (who is delightful) and with some other guests. And then a welcome and peaceful sleep in the comfortable bed and lovely room. An altogether wonderful experience!

Fantastic evening for my fiancée’s 30th birthday, alongside her parents. The service was second to none. Staff could not do enough for you and were attentive from the moment we entered the restaurant. The decor is of a certain vintage, which adds to the atmosphere. However, the menu is modern and varied, catering to everyone. The food was amazing. Chicken liver pâté was superb and my steak was cooked beautifully. The drinks and pudding menu had an excellent variety. It was an expensive meal, but well worth it for the quality of food and service. Diners have the option to spend less money by selecting soft drinks and food from the burger menu. 10/10 - I will definitely be back.
