Overall room was nice clean tidy. Air-con wasn’t working did report this and was issued a fan. Blowing hot air as room was very warm. Other than that room was great. I did message hotel 1 month prior to stay. As was Birthday weekend away, not one reply. I then called the hotel was told they would get back to me. They did not call me back. I did raise this when we arrived at hotel, and we got Prosecco in the room. Birthday card with the incorrect name on, and I didn’t give them any names. Luckily partner saw the funny side. (Phew) Other than this good stay. Would stay again, just need air con to work.

On arrival to check in, the male staff on reception were certainly not welcoming. First time I have ever been asked for proof of ID. I initially showed them a printout of the confirmation of the booking, but that was not good enough, thank goodness i had my driving license with me. To gain access to our room we had to walk across a courtyard to a side door which led to a lift and a maze of stairs. We were thankfully escorted to our room, otherwise, I do not think we would have found it. The room itself was very small and dark for a five-star hotel, not even a proper window. There were many buttons and switches in the room, but nobody had the courtesy to inform us of what they were all for and there were no instructions to hand in the room to help you work things out. In addition, the room safe did not work and as there were no do not disturb/room ready to be cleaned signs to hang on the door, a cleaner came to the room to service and clean it whilst my wife was in the bath. We subsequently found out that two of the mystery buttons in the room were for ”do not disturb, or room ready to be cleaned” but like the room safe, they did not work. I do firmly believe a five-star hotel should ensure everything is in working order before guests arrive. I have said below that this hotel does not have a bar or restaurant, well it does have both attached to it, but they do not belong to the hotel. You can have an all-inclusive breakfast rate when booking, but as my wife is not a breakfast person, we did not, and I paid for my breakfasts separately each morning. This was fine, but watch out, they add on a service charge to the prices on the breakfast menu and one morning I was overcharged. They had the cheek to charge me separately for my tea, which was already included in the menu price. Having said that, the serving breakfast waitresses were very friendly and efficient, as was the waitress who served and looked after us for our family Sunday Lunch. Yes, the hotel itself is kept very clean, as was our room, but I certainly would not rate it five stars.

Myself, brother and sister and father stayed for 1 night for my father's 80th birthday. I contacted the hotel in advance to let them know it was my father's birthday and the hotel very kindly organised for complimentary cakes for his hotel room along with offering us a welcome drink on the house and had even left a hand written card in his room. They went over and beyond to make him feel special and the personal touch was very much appreciated. Haytam was particularly helpful and friendly ensuring we had everything we needed throughout our stay - thank you for your hospitality. The rooms were full of mod cons - loved the automated black out blinds. We had breakfast included in our rate which was all cooked fresh and delicious. We had a drink and nibbles in the bar during the evening - nice balance of an atmosphere but not too loud and the food was nicely presented. Super close to Moorgate tube and not far from Liverpool St also so very easy to get to and a lovely stay overall so would definitely recommend.

Outstanding experience. My wife booked 2 days at the Montcalm for my 35rd birthday and what a treat it was. So many polite staff ready to help from the moment you walk in. As we approached the hotel we were greeted and asked if we’d like our bags taken to reception; another member of staff gave my wife and I a complimentary glass of Prosecco and as we checked in, the manager January (that’s her name) came out to say hello and make sure we had everything we needed for our stay. The roof top bar is mega-impressive with beautiful views. The decor is very 20’s Gatsby feel, which is right up our street. Really nice cocktails on offer and tasty food too. Room was very clean, nicely styled, big TV, in room fridge and very comfy bed. Underfloor heating in the bathroom and a MASSIVE shower head, which was very pleasant to use. We will undoubtedly return.

W/End away in London. We were looking for a hotel close to the river Thames & St. Catherine’s Docks inc. Tower Bridge & St. Paul’s Cathedral. Eventually we found the Clubquaters Hotel in St. Paul’s. which was was spot on for location. The hotel was superb, great facilities, inc. a gym. the room was lovely, Reception staff were very helpful. Just off the Reception is a direct link door to the superb Cotes Restaurant, so we could start our day off with a great Full English Breakfast. Yum…Yum it was spot on! The location of the hotel is superb….St. Paul’s Cathedral right next door…a Bell Ring away….the River Thames including the famous Millennium Bridge, a short walk away. Close to St. Paul’s Underground along with city bus stops and numerous extremely convenient shops., couldn’t fault it. Spot on!

When I made a mistake at the time of booking, I saw that the room information showed that the facilities for the disabled were provided, and I didn’t think about it. I found that it was a special room for the disabled. It was really embarrassing. . . Before the check-in, the hotel contacted me via Ctrip and asked me about my check-in time. My answer may arrive at noon, which will be far earlier than the hotel's check-in time. The reply will be arranged according to the situation on the day. On the day of the check-in, we arrived at the hotel around 11:00 and they were all ready. Thank you very much! The hotel was originally remodeled by the bank and opened only last year, new and atmospheric. There are seven or eight restaurants in the hotel lobby, and the taste is comprehensive. Geographically, it is located in the downtown area, walking close to the hotels around the Thames, and next to the subway station. The decor of the room is completely classic British style, the details are carefully polished, very special and very like. There are no less than 20 kinds of bath products, which is extremely luxurious. I saw a comment on the book saying that the sound of the music downstairs was noisy, but the actual experience was completely unrecognizable. The sound insulation of the window was well done. The sound of the door next door was noisy. This may be the only fly in the ointment.

I would like to say what a wonderful time we had at this beautiful hotel over the weekend. We were only 1 night and wished we had booked more. I would especially like to thank Zaema for her happy, friendly, helpful manner. She is a credit to you and your team. Nothing was too much trouble helping with tube instructions and timings and the hand written note left in our room was an especially lovely touch.

The hotel is well designed in modern style, like it every bit in the details.Location is convenient with good shopping malls and restaurant nearby, subway Liverpool station is 10-min walk from the hotel. Good location, right next to Trafalgar Square, next to Tesco express and Macdonald. The hotel room is also large. Friendly service, you can order Chinese food with just eat. The room has a microwave. Hygiene is average, seems gray, and the bathroom has a slight odor. There is no own parking lot. There is a cooperative parking lot on the other side of the square. You can park temporarily at the door and drop your luggage before going to the parking lot. Parking is 44 pounds a day and about 37 pounds with a hotel coupon. There are actually two hotels here, one is grand and the other is cq. I booked grand but lived in Cq. I do n’t know how to arrange it. When the hotel is not busy, it is sold at 7-800, and the price is good. After all, it is close to the Thames and other attractions.

Everything at this hotel was perfect! Location seems to be a bit far from center of London but, thanks to the nice traffc system, moving around in London is very easy, but please note that fares are not cheap. At each room, heater system is perfectly embedded and it works well so that we could enjoy staying at warm place. This nice hotel offers free coffee at lobby floor and it tastes super rich and good so that we did not need to visit place like Starbucks. All staff were very helpful and very kind! Hope to visit this place again whenever i travel in London. Thank you so much for everything Citadines Barbican!

No doubt this is a unique place to stay. It really does feel like you are stepping back in time. The main area has a library with books that are hundreds of years old! There is also a sweet black cat who lives there. The staff are all incredibly nice. The area is quite nice and historic, and it’s close to the subway lines (underground and above ground). I had two issues with the hotel that other people may want to know about. One is the shower situation - some of the rooms have baths only and some have awkward showers. I’m not a bath person, so I struggled with this. The other is that they use a copper cleaner on the metal which has a funny smell. You do get used to it after being in the room for a little bit, though. So I’d say that if those things don’t bother you, the Rookery is a fabulous place to stay, and it will be memorable for sure.

No separate bathroom - there was a shower cubicle with a glazed side and toilet with a glazed side. But anyone in the room can see straight through both leaving little to the imagination - really no privacy- then the sink to wash was in the bedroom so again no privacy when having a wash - just a bit odd. But overall great - but I couldn’t have stayed more than 2 nights without a window.

Came as family booked family room. Given inner room which is small ( compared to other inns) also has a window that looks to the inner atrium area but window fully frosted out. No light and claustrophobic. Air con turns itself off (told it’s on eco mode) so makes room stuffy and feels even more claustrophobic. Taps to bath plumbing wrong way so turn to cold and makes water dam hot. Taps very lose in bath also and tap to basin won’t turn to hot. Need plumber maintenance big time. Bedding to Short for bed as sheet didn’t fit beds so rolled up. Staff very happy and helpfully but room maintenance and this horrible frosted window makes it poor. Breakfast good but please get the mix berries fruit out of the freezer well before putting out. Like eating frozen food. Nice position for west end theatre and St Paul’s. Please spend some time on rooms and get rid of this full frosted windows.

We had been planning to visit for tea or cocktails after moving to the area last year - we thought an special birthday the ideal occasion but overall we were disappointed with the experience and won’t go back - the waiters were initially trying to be helpful and it appeared the issues we were having were coming from the kitchen - in the end we had a very long wait, refusal to accommodate a vegetarian order even though we’d agreed to simply not have one type of sandwich, without replacement and that apparently was too much to ask. We’d booked a table for 5 but had to manage with a tiny very narrow table that couldn’t fit everything on it, had to request used plates be removed on a couple of occasions, didn’t get the order we’d asked for, waiters were fumbling and dropping things, even onto us! and in the end despite a certain amount of good will we felt that the wait staff must be simply inexperienced and untrained in the kind of basic service you’d expect at that price and perhaps the chef was having a bad day - so lovely quirky place, tea selection pretty good overall despite insisting our vegetarian friend removed her own meat filled sandwiches but overall service let the whole thing down. More Fawlty Towers than you’d want.
