We stayed here as we had a dinner nearby. Ideal location very short walk from Farringdon Elizabeth Line. We stayed in the St Paul‘s room which was beautiful, big and spacious and a lovely bathroom with rolltop bath and separate shower. The bed was extremely comfortable. The place was spotlessly clean and really good amenities in the room. We also had lunch here and the food was excellent as was the breakfast in the morning. You do have to go up some steep stairs to get to the rooms, but it’s well worth it once you’re there! Excellent value and we will definitely return

The rooms were decadent, cozy and decorated beautifully… I loved loved loved being above the little Pub. the staff behind the bar was so helpful and cute… Check-in was easy. Location was so quick for an Uber to pick you up… Would definitely recommend and stay here again.… I’m gonna decorate my room like this when I get home :-)

My husband and I stayed here for a honeymoon-like getaway. Our stay here was wonderful. I loved having the bathtub in the bedroom. It was so cozy and everyone was very friendly! The location was convenient too. It was nice being able to end every night in the pub under the hotel. Would definitely book again.

Nice 3 night stay at this pub. Could do with a bit of TLC. Cleaning of carpets & bathroom ceiling, but for the price & the location can’t complain too much. Honesty bar in the room was a nice touch & was very impressed with the shower. Food in the pub was nice but over priced.

Great location with amazing original interior with real charm. Food was good and the portions were generous. A little noisy in the morning but that is due to the proximity of a working market. Very enjoyable stay with lovely Staff- will be back.

Came for Sunday lunch and had a great experience. Was able to book a table the night before which is unusual for a Sunday lunchtime in London. Lovely boozer in one of the most atmospheric parts of London. Great food, great service, great beer, what more could you ask for?

A very traditional pub in a lovely square adjacent to Smithfield market. Popped in for a pre-lunch drink. A young Australian barman was in behind the bar and there was only one other customer. Asked for a Bloody Mary and was told they don't do cocktails. Explained that it isn't a cocktail and did they have tomato juice. Barman said that they did and I responded that I would explain how to make it. He begrudgingly filled a tall glass to the very top with ice. I asked him to take some out. He was in such a bad mood that he spilt most of the ice over the bar (which was not particularly clean) and then picked the rest up with his hands and put the ice cubs back in the bucket rather than throwing them away. I asked if could add some Worcester Sauce and he said that didn't have any, even though there was a catering size bottle immediately in front of him. He then put a huge amount into the Bloody Mary so it was practically black. We took our drinks over to a quiet corner and the barman followed us and started slamming boxes of wine around immediately next to our table. Shortly after a friend of his arrived and they spent 10 minutes swearing (lots of the F word) and the barman said that a customer had recently complained about his attitude which is hardly surprising. Needless to say we finished our drinks as quickly as we could and will never return. Such a shame as otherwise we would have stayed a lot longer and the pub itself is fine.

Nice friendly and professional Alessandra and Angelika. Very warm and inviting atmosphere. I've tried the Sunday lunch which was a great experience and the flavours were great....the best around Smithfield Meat Market by far. Will definitely return x

Room had a very comfy bed. Air conditioning. Well styled and clean room. Good water pressure and decent soaking tub in the bathroom. Lovely little honour bar. Great service from all the staff. Wonderful pub downstairs with delicious food. The only slight downside is they don’t have a lift which was only annoying cause we had a big heavy suitcase. If you travel light, you’ll be fine! It is also a bit outside the centre of London BUT it’s a 2 minute walk to the tube. Or a 25 minute car. Very walkable and interesting neighbourhood in its own right with lots of cool history. We had a wonderful stay and will be back!

I have never stayed here before and I was pleasantly surprised. Arrived before check-in time and the cases were safely stored away for us. The Manager kindly took both suitcases to the room as the steps were steep and narrow. (There is no lift). The room was well appointed with a selection of refreshments, glasses and cups. The bathroom had a wide selection of toiletries available and sufficient shelf space for your own. Bearing in mind that the rooms are above a pub and it is located in central London, noise levels were tolerable. Breakfast is exceptionally good. The staff were really friendly and helpful.

Quick get away with my sister, room was lovely - tap was dripping and the throw on the bed could do with a wash, but other than that it was lovely. I had stayed before so the my husband so knew what to expect. Food was lovely - we had dinner and breakfast. Staff were lovely and very attentive and helpful. I would definitely stay again, their Sunday night deal is really good value,

What a brilliant, unexpected find The Fox & Anchor was! We stumbled across their Sunday Stay deal which included both an excellent evening meal and breakfast the following day. Incredible value for money. Anybody who might be apprehensive at staying in a pub should spend a night here, they’d never look back! Huge, sumptuous suite with an enormous bathroom with free standing bath AND a wet room. I was in my element! It was also surprisingly quiet given its (very convenient) City location. The staff were super helpful, it was warm and clean and I honestly didn’t want to leave. We’ll be back!

Great location, fabulous room (other than a dripping tap). Sadly staff seemed underresourced - they did try though, despite having limited menu. Clearly on a good day, it would be an amazing little hideaway full of atmosphere and history.

Congrats to the people at Fox & Anchor. We were very well received and accommodated. The breakfast is excellent and the management very generous. It is a pity that families with underage children cannot have dinner at a pub after 20:00, but that's the law. It would be a good idea to repair a couple of issues in lighting and plumbing in the room we occupied. Looking forward to a future stay!
