We had a fabulous time here. The Market Room was quiet and comfortable, including a brass tub and private patio. The pub itself served amazing food and drinks. Loved the breakfast and the dinner. The staff helped us celebrate and we would happily stay there again.

Avoid. Our room was old, dumpy and expensive. When we showed the front bar, where we checked in, that the online advertised rate included meals and was priced lower than we were being charged he said in order to give us the advertised rate we would need to "cancel" this booking and we'd be charged an extra night. We should have booked the Rookery around the corner.

We stayed five nights in the heat of July and were very happy with our accommodation. We had The Market suite so lots of space to relax and enjoy ourselves. The air con was a godsend - thankful for the extra blanket! We enjoyed the terrace off our room, as well. Check in (strict about 3 pm) was a little slow as someone hadn’t checked out the previous guests properly but the pub had drinks for us while it was sorted. The tube is very close and the neighborhood has lots to offer. We’d certainly stay here again.

Great place to stay. Booked with my sister to see a show at Barbican. From all the helpful staff, great food, fabulous room, spotless and equipped with everything you could possibly need. Plus proximity to tube station and Barbican. Would definitely recommend and will definitely stay again.

Very nice room coupled with an excellent restaurant and service. We would stay here again and will recommend to all our friends. If you are willing to walk a bit everything is easily accessible by foot. It has a wonderful atmosphere

The room far exceeded my expectations. Spacious, comfortable, beautifully decorated and lots of nice touches. Large bathroom with roll top bath was gorgeous. For London, was very good value.

Met up with 8 friends as couples. Check in good. First evening we all ate in the bar, very noisy pub used by workers. My fish n chips very good although didn’t like the strong garlic in the mushy peas. Room lovely very clean except the toilet pedestal which wasn’t cleaned once during my 3 day stay. Breakfast not good, disorganised staff, my husband’s order was wrong, eggs overdone. No alternative to cows milk. Had breakfast elsewhere after that. I left my apple phone charger in my room (my bad) but the cleaning staff didn’t hand it in so not as honest as you’d want. In my opinion overpriced at £200 per night just to sleep in a room where tea/coffee and water are provided.

We stayed in the same suite many years ago and it always left a lasting memory, so we came again this time. It was very much as we remembered it and we had a great stay. We don't tend to eat breakfast so can't say what that's like, but we had dinner in the pub on one night and it was really nice, with great personal service from Christoff. If I was being ultra critical I'd say the shower could have been a little more powerful but other than that, I can't fault the room or service. It's also only a couple of minutes walk to Farringdon station which very convenient. The pub itself is just what you'd imagine an old original London pub should be with lots of dark wood, nooks to sit in and hand pulled beers. We'll definitely return at some point.

The room was very nice! We were on the 3rd floor. The stairs are very steep and there is no lift. The room had a roll top bath at the end of the bed. Bed was comfy and the room was very clean. Farringdon tube station is the closest and the hotel is a short walk from here. You cannot check in any earlier than 3pm. We were disappointed with the staff at breakfast. We had booked. No table ready. We were the only ones in there. All cutlery etc was just plonked in front of us. The food arrived with black pudding which we had asked not to have. The staff were chatting constantly to each other. No butter came with the toast had to ask. Just really unorganised and disappointing.

Where to begin? The service is awful. We arrived but nobody could find our booking. Eventually, it materialised but only after we had to wait out in the cold for 30 minutes (the inside of the pub is extremely noisy). We were then told that the generous Youngs voucher given to us by friends as a present for a special occasion could not be used for this booking. This is despite us being told on the phone when we booked that we should just bring it along and it would all be sorted out. When we finally got to one of our two rooms, it was perishingly cold but there were no instructions as to how to turn the heating on. In addition, the taps in the bathroom were dripping and one kept falling off when we tried to turn it. The really sad thing is that we thought that Young's vouchers seemed such a good idea that we had bought some for friends for Christmas; we now deeply regret doing this, as they obviously come with all sorts of strings attached. In other words, we are never coming back to this or any other Youngs pub.

We arrived before check in and couldn’t get into our room early. There was an issue with housekeeping that day. One of the bar staff wasn’t too friendly with us about coming in before checkin. We sat and had a pint and food to kill time since we got there about 2ish hours before check in. Stairs and steep and narrow. No lift. We were given room on top floor. It can get noises outside at night but we didn’t hear other hotel guests. Loved the room but had issues with the shower. The door didn’t seal right so first time we used it, water got everywhere. No one onsite after 11pm so make sure you keep security number on hand. We had to check out before 7:30 and bar wasn’t open even though it says they were to open at 7am for breakfast.

We stayed here last week passing through the UK. My wife loved the room, it was cosy and the bath was perfect. The staff were all polite and friendly. The only downside was that we got woken up after midnight from people shouting outside the bar across the street from the hotel.

The room was excellent and the bed so comfortable and cosy. Best nights sleep and the coolness in the room on such a hot evening made it better. Only downside was no light//lamp by the mirror.
