Kimpton Taconic Hotel

My husband and I love this hotel. Found by accident, as we originally booked the equinox, but after checking in and realizing that was a big mistake, the Kimpton THANKFULLY had room for us. Every single staff interaction was a win, from guest services (Max) to Front desk (brittany) to restaurant, etc. Extremely dog friendly but no dog smells in the hallways, common rooms, or room itself. Highly airconditioned, modern, and bright as well as airy feeling. The pool feels very European in an enclosed courtyard, the large porches were lovely to have a drink, sip coffee or just take in the mountain view. Its also situated on the main street, so we walked many times down to various restaurants , etc. We did call the shuttle bus to come a few times, and it did, promptly and rescued us from the heat wave. We also met some other lovely guests! Many of them in for the horse competition/show, and others there with their dogs for a hike, or just to enjoy the beautiful town. We hope to come back in the winter season to enjoy all that this hotel offers. Obsessed!
Manchester View

Excellent as always! We've stayed several times now at Manchester View, never disappointed. Whether the regular rooms or the spacious rooms above the office ( Pearl Buck or Rudyard Kipling), the facility is cleam, well maintained and comfortably furnished. Breakfast is always excellent ( who else serves Wolferman's English muffins?). As the name implys, the location is a top draw. Just a couple of minUts outside Manchester and its many delights, the views are wonderful. Sunrise on our Pearl buck elevated deck was lovely, and the afternoon shade there was welcome in the recent heat wave. Staff is unfailingly helpful and personable. And this has become our home away from home in the area. Years ago, as a young couple, we'd drive by and wish we could stay there, on our way to cheap digs way out of town. Now we find it very cost competetive, notexpensive as we thought it was then. A bargain for what we receive!
