Beautiful property and service! Upon arrival, we were greeted by Andres who offered us a refreshing beverage Andres was super friendly and helpful. He took us down to our townhouse which was lovely. It had an open floor plan where the kitchen/dining room and living room, opened up to the spectacular ocean and rainforest view. Overall, the townhouse had really nice modern furnishings. The downstairs had a spacious bedroom and bathroom. It also opened up to a beautiful view of the ocean and rainforest. Andres and Andrey were always available to pick us up and take us to the main entrance to meet our transportation for the days events. They also always made sure we had dinner accommodations at really nice convenient restaurants. The housekeeping staff were friendly and helpful as well. Enjoyed our stay. Would definitely recommend it.

I cannot say enough about our stay at Los Altos. Not sure how it is only rated #30 of hotels in Manuel Antonio. We stayed in an adults only townhouse (#6) with Andrey as our butler. Andrey was incredible, recommended and booked dinner reservations, arranged our tours, taxis, and drivers around the resort whenever we requested (getting from the resort entrance to/from our townhouse when it rained), and got us anything else we needed. They also arranged our transportation to and from the airport, $210 each way for the approximately 3 hour drive. Very easy and would recommend. The townhouse itself was gorgeous, and well stocked with many complimentary goodies when we arrived. More small goodies came at each turndown. The view from the townhouses is breathtaking. Bring a pair of binoculars and sit on your upstairs balcony, lay in your bed or take a dip in your plunge pool and watch pairs of macaws fly by or troupes of monkeys move through the trees. Just let the wonderful staff - drivers, front desk, and beach staff in particular - know you are interested in seeing sloths and they will find them and point them out to you. The hotel has a cat, Tigre, that lives at the guardhouse that we visited everyday. The guardhouse staff were super friendly and I enjoyed speaking my broken Spanish with them while visiting Tigre. We only ate on property once, room service our first night, and the food was very good. The hotel is within walking distance of many good restaurants. The location is one thing we really liked, some places to stay are not nearly as accessible to all Manuel Antonio has to offer. We ate at Cafe Milagro (get the banana pancakes), Emilio’s Cafe (highly recommend curry and whole red snapper), Enzo’s (bento box offered at lunchtime), Claro Que Si (good ceviche but oddly enough this was our most expensive yet least favorite meal), Samui, and Falafel Bar. All were good, some excellent. However my husband and I agree our favorite meal was the lunch after our ATV tour followed by a breakfast at Soda Angel (local spot recommended by Andrey), just good local food and much less expensive than the other restaurants. I also recommend going to the grocery store (go to the bigger one a bit further but still walkable to the hotel for the best prices) and just get fresh fruit for breakfast that you can cut up with items provided in the kitchenette at the townhouse. We only went to the main pool once because we had our own plunge pool but the main pool area is very nice, lots of shaded spots (some with ceiling fans), in addition to sun for all preferences. Order from the poolside bar and they will bring drinks to you in the pool. We enjoyed the drinks with lots of fresh fruit. The view from the pool is beautiful. I wasn’t sure how much we would use our plunge pool but we used it everyday, loved being able to come back from a morning of activities and cool off in our own pool. It was a big draw of the townhouses for us and it did not disappoint. Perhaps

The incredible views of ocean + jungle and the fantastic resort staff (Andres + Andrey!) made this time in Costa Rica unforgettable. Karolas at Los Altos was a pleasure during each visit. Agua Azul, Ensō, Cafe Milagro, Carambola (GREAT kbbq!), and Soda Sánchez in Quepos offered great eats. ATV and catamaran provided wonderful on-and-off-land activities. Manuel Antonio national park is a must visit (tour guides will give you the best experience for identifying rainforest animals and critters).

I don’t write reviews very often, but this time something exceptional happened that I had to write one. Well, where should I start from? We arrived at the hotel in the evening and were very hungry. The hotel restaurant was busy and we were tired to look for other options, so we needed a quick fix. The hotel representative at the front desk Andres was extremely attentive and eager to help us in any way he could. It was very hot and humid outside, so he told us to go to the room and he would personally take care of us with room service from the hotel restaurant. The food arrived 20 minutes later, and he served the food himself! Good start to the trip. A day later, our daughter had a birthday. He heard from the room cleaner and sent us a birthday cake! Who does these things without a request and no charge? He made sure to recommend amazing restaurants (each one of them was a huge success!), and made sure we had a pleasant taxi driver every time. There were many other things he did and I can’t list all of them here due to word limits, but I’ll tell you this: The hotel is amazing, but people like Andres make it extra special and give us a reason to come back (and write a review…) Thank you Sir for exceptional experience for my family.

This is an addendum to a review I previously wrote, which is worth the effort. Thank you Andrey Jimenez. He was our butler during the day and was always so friendly. Gracias por tu paciencia cuando probe mi espanol. He was a great source of information and set up my indulgence, a massage. He was authentic in making our experience here wonderful. Shout out to Loreila, the massage therapist. I walked out of there in a relaxed delirium. Places to eat if you would like some variety can be found just beyond the gate entrance along the street: Enso (a sushi place), Samui (Thai place) and Cafe Milagro all great choices. Forgot to mention the wonderful private beach. It is quite a steep walk but they do offer a shuttle from the condos to the beach and can be called down by the beach bartender when you are ready to head up. Again, would recommend the Townhouse stay all over again!

Wow! This place is the epitome of what you imagine Costa Rica to be like. We drove from the Del Toro area and arrived here in a downpour of rain. Everyone in the front immediately came to greet us with cool towels and help with our luggage. Andres, muchas gracias para todo! Andres our butler, along with the driver, drove us to our townhouse. He took the time to show us all the features of our room, including the private infinity pool right outside our bedroom. A special recognition of Andres for always going above and beyond. He was so helpful in trying to change one of our scheduled tours. Throughout our stay, it continued, from offering umbrellas to stopping to show us 4 sloths near the beach (2 moms and 2 babies) on our drive back up. He genuinely tried to make our stay not just enjoyable but memorable. If your party is all over the age of 18, the townhouse is THE PLACE to stay!!! I loved that our stay included breakfast. There was a variety of food to chose from and the view while you're eating is unbelievable! Highly recommend staying here.

Los Altos is literally the cream of the crop! It is for the most discerning travelers. No kids, no noise, few people, great food, wonderful landscaping, beautiful views, quality construction and a pool area that I never wanted to leave. I run an international business which is hectic and all I want is for me and my honey to be pampered in every way. That is exactly what we received at Los Altos. We stayed in the townhouse with two private floors and a private pool! The views of the jungle and ocean were unmatched! To top it off, Los Altos comes with a butler and ours was Andre. This man is the epitome of professionalism. Friendly and cordial, Andre could not do enough for you! Every detail was taken care of! Let me go further, even when Andre was “off work” he insisted that he is NEVER off work for his clients and scheduled romantic reservations, taxis and tours 24/7. As a New Yorker, we are just used to speed and excellence in service. Andre brought this to a level I’ve never seen before. Ask for him. He is now my friend. The staff, Efrain and David were great and the management keeps everything smoothly. I will be returning twice a year! Love this place and the people!

Los Altos created an incredible family experience! The rooms are large, beautiful, spacious and the staff is friendly and accommodating. We had a huge kitchen, full size refrigerator, and beach views from our balcony! The master and kids bedrooms have private balconies as well. Each room has a private AC, there is a large great room with couches and tables right off the kitchen for movie nights! Breakfast is included in the morning at the open air restaurant and it is delicious! There is a fresh homemade juice each morning from all the local fresh fruits. The pool is an infinity overlooks the jungle and beach! There are 2 hot tubs and the pool deck has covered side cabanas with fans and lights. You can order food and drinks while you swim and watch the beach and jungle! There was a sloth and monkeys right in the tree by the pool! It was so fun to see. There is shuttle truck- safari style with benches in the back to take you to the beach (a few minutes ride through the jungle) while you go, the driver stops to show you the wildlife- we saw 2 sloths all in the first day! They come and pick you up when you're ready and set out beach chairs and umbrellas for you when you get there. The beach is private and GORGEOUS! There were large rocks on the sides that created tide pools where we found all types of ocean life, sea glass and took stunning pictures. The water was warm and the waves were really fun to play in. Again- the beach is private! It was such an amazing experience. We played pool, air hockey, ping pong etc... in the large game room, my son blue toothed to the huge speaker and we enjoyed a couple hours just playing games! Manuel Antonio National Park is 10 minutes away. We rented a car, (buy tickets online first!) And were able to park and hike around on those incredible beaches and trails as well! It was heaven! We also traveled to Eco Chontales and Nauyaca falls for a day before coming back and relaxing in the hot tubs. In addition to the yummy restaurant on site, here are lots of close restaurants- we recommend El wagon wood fired pizza and El Avion (airplane) to watch the sunset! There are hiking trails on Los Altos property, also a hanging bridge with platform! There are free cooking classes (empanadas- yummy!), yoga, and trails to explore the jungle. You will love Los Altos! It created the most incredible memories and experience we will always treasure. If you're heading to Costa Rica- I highly recommend this resort. Have a great vacation!
Response from Property: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We are thrilled that you and your family had an incredible stay at Los Altos and enjoyed many of the amenities at the hotel - the pool and private beach, the hiking trails, the restauarnt, the cooking class and the game room, as well as visiting close by attractions and other restaurants. Please come back again soon to make more amazing memories. We are waiting for you!

This was our first trip to Costa Rica and we were so fortunate that our tour company booked us at Los Altos. We stayed in a townhouse - incredible views, lovely furnishings, incredible surrounding. The staff was so friendly, food was delicious.
