Skipjack Resort & Marina Reviews

$25/day resort fee due at check-in. The AC units shut themselves off after some undetermined amount of run-time. Had to keep flipping the breaker to get the AC to run. Temp never got to the setpoint and because it didn't run long enough, it never ****** the humidity out of the room. Room was clean. Parking lot was crowded.

excellent customer service, the staff are very accommodating and welcoming. highly recommend, we come every year and every year gets better.

Live music by the pool bar every night, often crowded with locals. Blu Bistro Restaurant was delicious—we ate there twice during our stay. Continental breakfast offerings were made to order, quick and delicious. Clean, comfortable room. Staff was friendly and attentive.

I have been going here for years, when it was Sombrero. I'm sad to see the decline of this property. I understand there seems to be some construction at the Villas, but I was puzzled why the parking under the Manatee building was roped off and filled with junk and also had what appeared to be jacked up in each spot. The Continental Breakfast leaves much to be desired. If you're going to serve waffles, at least use griddles that aren't so encrusted that you can remove them when they're done, and get waffle irons like any other place that turn to cook. Sadly the property has declined and it looks as though the ambience is the only concern. Lounge chairs are a pretty color, yet they're worn and ripped.

Just wasn't what was expected. Floor in the room was dirty. Was expecting a balcony over the boat channel , not the parking lot.Noticed that certain parts of the building were not structurally sound. Staff in many cases were very unresponsive.

A lot of construction going on but in most respectful way. Service was great and prices respectable for on site accommodations and restaurant. Great food and Included breakfast was fantastic. Not too crowded. Open to public at night which was fun. Would have liked a little better view but was ok especially considering the reasonable price.

Excellent pool and services arrangement, outstanding food, easy access to room and parking, very nice suite arrangement.

Property was clearly dated. One building had several house jacks in every garage supporting the first floor units and therefore the other 2 floors above it. That sent up a red flag right there. Buildings look run down. Nothing like the pictures. The view from the patios is the backside of the leasing office, dumpsters, parking lot. Rooms were really clean; but definitely not worth the $ they charge you. Food was mediocre.

The resort has a lot of work from the Bed mattresses to pool chair cushions as well as their amenities such as bikes, beach chairs and beach umbrellas . The breakfast was good and the restaurant was ok.

Weather was terrible but we really liked the size and comfort of our room, and we enjoyed the Tiki bar. Breakfast was a plus. Location to Miami and key west was perfect. Pool was nice but we didn’t use it bc night one although warm, had a family full of kids monopolizing the pool, eating in the pool, etc… not very appealing. Rest of our stay was too rainy cold and windy unfortunately . Bar tender brought a key lime desert and sang for my birthday -that was quite sweet, and then tried to sell me a 50.00 bottle of wine I couldn’t taste first so I opted for something familiar. He was accommodating tho and really tried to understand what I was looking for. The ext door bolt does not lock. There was some domestic incident at the Tiki on 2/19 that was a bit unnerving. Not sure if these were guests or locals.

We enjoyed our stay at Skipjack! The rooms were very spacious and clean. The continental breakfast and restaurant/bar were great. We enjoyed all of our meals and drinks on site, poolside! We had an amazing pizza and a delicious authentic gyro sandwich. The staff were all very friendly, especially the bar staff. The pool was very nice as well. We were able to borrow beach chairs and an umbrella for our day trip to Bahia Honda, which was very convenient. The only downside to Skipjack is that it does not have an ocean view or beachfront and there is a lot of construction going on around the property right now. If that doesn't bother you, you will have a comfortable and enjoyable stay!

Room wooden floors were dirty. As in the bottom of our feet were black just walking from bedroom to shower. Many surfaces not clean. Most staff were really nice. Breakfast was pretty basic considering daily resort fee.

Check in was by 4pm and our room was not ready and nobody seemed to care. Breakfast was included and was awful. Cold eggs and bacon and a frozen English muffin! Much of the property’s perimeter was under construction or in disrepair. I wouldn’t stay here again if you paid me!!!

Property is in need of some updating - it was ok for a place to sleep - rooms were clean .
