Rude manager. Did not acknowledge presence during breakfast and pulled a chair at our table, sat on it to have a long discussion with the next table. So u able to enjoy ( the very limited ) breakfast. No manners.
Bed had ants which may be difficult to avoid i. This setting.

The staff was so nice and friendly (even tho we spoke no Italian). The room was very large and clean, the AC worked well and the area was easily walkable with incredible views just outside your door. Very great access to hiking and town options.

It went very well. Very attentive, friendly and available.
Accessibility to the place is excellent, next to the bus stop that serves the Sassi, the decoration of the spaces is well done.
The shower in the room could have more privacy and the breakfast could be better

Very nice and comfortable room, centrally located to easily get around Matera. The owner was very kind and helpful, he gave us a map and explained how to get around the city. I recommend everyone to go and see Matera and stay at this property.

I found out about this place on Booking but in the end I booked via phone with Mr. Gianni was immediately a very kind person and proclaimer of his roots, he gave me lots of advice and solutions for our stay. We arrived in the morning giving us the opportunity to check in early and arriving to welcome us was Angela, a girl with a very nice and friendly manner who gave us advice on the day and accompanied us to the room. Small but nice spaces, very comfortable and quiet. Good breakfast, we will definitely return. Thank you very much for everything.

Characteristic structure located a few steps from Piazza San Pietro Caveoso and overlooking the Murgia Materana. The owner Gianni is a very kind person, diligent and passionate in telling the story of Matera, the origin of the b&b and extremely generous with advice on what to visit in the city and its surroundings. The entire structure is created inside the stones, well maintained and pleasantly furnished. Excellent and plentiful breakfast, the presence of Matera bread and focaccia is priceless. 5 stars more than deserved.

Il Carrubo is located in an excellent position, a few steps from the shuttle stop coming from the large car park located in via Saragat, costing €0.50 per hour, stop for Carrubo no. 7. Excellent location, excellent welcome from Mr. Gianni, very knowledgeable about the history of Matera and a person who fights to safeguard the territory, fantastic. Clean, quiet and fresh accommodation, nothing to complain about. Breakfast not like a large hotel but excellent, with top quality products. I highly recommend the Carrubo
