Motel 6 Moncton, NB

Moncton|1.63km from Centennial Park
I was looking for a basic motel to get away for some quiet time. When i called to book, i was very specific about what i wanted. A QUIET room, away from other guests. The furthest room away from main street. I specified i wanted peace and quiet, and that if it worked out, i would be booking at least once a month. What i got was NOTHING like i requested. I was put on the side/middle of the building, and right away i noticed another car. But it was a couple rooms away, so i figured i could deal with it. Within 2 hours, there were people in the rooms on each side of me, and a few others nearby. Around 10, what seemed like a construction crew pulled in with their trucks and all had to back into their parking spots...very slowly..with loud back up beepers. There was 2 rooms that had smokers outside the door, near enough i could smell the smoke in my room. Even though they were standing directly in front of a sign stating no smoking by rooms. There was no info on the wifi given by the front desk on check in. I had to figure out how to even CALL the front desk, since there was NO info or button on the room phone for it. From around 11-1am both sides of me had their tvs so loud i could figure out what shows they were watching. When they finally went to bed i was woken up to someone ”tapping” like they were putting a nail in to hang a picture. This was around 3am and continued to about 4am When i messaged their account on facebook to let them know, they offered me a free night to make up for it. I was reluctant, but agreed, and set up a 2 night stay, (one free and one i pay). A few days before my stay, i had a family issue, and could only stay 1 night, and asked if that was ok. They read it but didnt respond. I went to the motel on the day agreed on (guy i was speaking to said he would take care of arrangements) and the guy behind the counter had no knowledge of the booking. I walked out, and messaged the guy i was speaking to. He claimed i didnt respond...and then sent the screenshot. That conversation was on dec 4th. As of today, jan 7th they havent responded, nor even read any of the messages. I would never recommend this place to anyone. VERY POOR customer service. Stay away, and find another motel.

This was an extremely disappointing experience - for the amount of money that we paid, we did not receive much at all. The parking lot was littered with crushed beer cans, broken bottles and garbage. The door to our room did not close properly and it had a gap in the bottom. This allowed countless bugs to be allowed into the room. There were bugs on the floor, walls and on the beds. There were lightbulbs missing above the sink and one was burnt out. There were exposed wall outlets around the room and old unusable plugs where things used to be plugged in. The TV did not work and kept freezing up….maybe because the cable box was hanging precariously on top of the tv from its own wires. The shower curtain was covered in red mildew and black mold. The curtains on the wall were falling off and were ripped. The breakfast that was included had minimal options - all of which were stale, including the bread and cereal. The juice refrigeration unit was broken making all the juice warm and both the apple and orange juices’ colour was off. We went to check out the pool because that was one of the reasons why we chose this place. When we got there it was dirty and smelled bad. The life saving equipment on the wall was all missing. We could not go swimming and enjoy ourselves as it was not hygienic at all. When we tried to check out the front desk attendant was not there. The lady in front of us went to the breakfast room and he was in there eating his food and wearing headphones. He was not caring that people wanted to check out. Overall this hotel was horrible and a huge waste of our money. We would have been better off sleeping in our car. We will never stay here again.

Four Points by Sheraton Moncton

Positives: - Check in staff, Madison, had positive attitude. Listened to issues found in the room, tried to offer two options but none of them I could use. - Responsive and made efforts to resolve issues Negatives: - Found hairs on the back of the hotel room door entry next to the wall, hairs found on the bed, and several in the bathroom in the first room they assigned me. - Poor hand-off and follow through when changing shifts between employees: Madison left and did not inform the next shift employee about the uncleaning issues in my room, left me waiting for more than 30 minutes. A new staff took over and I had to re-explain the situation again. Madison did not let me know that she would soon get off her shift and a new staff would take over. They moved me to Room 440 which is much cleaner. - The check-out process was long, the staff, Shannon said the printer couldn't print. The manager, Kamar, was standing looking over Shannon's shoulder and said he would take over to check me out. He asked me to go into his ”dark” office, and I said I preferred to wait in the lobby where it's bright and no need for me to go into his office, I sensed something was off. I went to get tea in the nearby tea table where hot water and coffee were located. Then, the next thing he did was acting inappropriately by walking very close to me to ask me a question, when Shannon stepped away, saying, ”Did you book through Expedia? My lady?” When Shannon returned, I told her that her manager, Kamar, said something inappropriate, and looked straight into Kamar's eyes telling him, ”I am not your lady. Stop that. I am your guest, the guest of Four Points by Sheraton.” This could constitute a sexual harassment in work setting. The facility is in good and acceptable condition. Cleanliness needs improvement as cleanliness varies from one room to another. The staff's service was fine, but manager, Kamar's behavior is concerning, inappropriate, and needs to be addressed. This hotel would have the chance to earn a 4 out of 5 or even 5 out of 5 if they were able to: 1) provide a clean, hairless, grease-free, watermark-free, food crumb-free rooms on all surfaces from the beginning. 2) Kamar acts and speaks professionally and appropriately 3) Better handoff between shifts. Kamar is the biggest factor that this property got a 2 star out of 5-star rating. Moncton in New Brunswick is the closest bigger city to Prince Edward Island, which offers better lodging accommodation. If you don't mind driving 1.5 to 2 hours daily (one way), this can be a good lodging location for those who plan to visit Prince Edward Island. Going into Prince Edward Island is free, but when you leave and cross the bridge again, it's $50 CAD, so do pencil that in when making your lodging decisions. For the same price, you get better and nicer hotels in Moncton than that of Charlottetown in Prince Edward Island.

We came to watch the hockey game so the hotel being right across the street from the arena was a big selling feature. There is a $12/day parking fee but you can come and go so it’s not too bad. Check-in was quick and the staff at the front desk were helpful and friendly. The room was bright and clean and the beds and pillows were comfy. The guide on the TV didn’t work so it made something to watch difficult but not a deal breaker. Pool and hot tub were nice but I wish the hot tub was a little hotter than it was. Check-out was speedy and the desk agent very friendly. I would highly recommend and I would stay here again!

everything about the hotel was good except NO SERVICE including no making up room. The manager on duty on July18 at 530 pm greeted me with attitude saying IT IS WHAT IT IS My complaint is that we were not told in advance and at $ 300 a night I want my room to be cleaned and the bed made or given a reduction in price .We will not stay at this site again
