We stayed 5 nights here in May/June. What a fantastic hotel. Small upscale boutique hotel right in the center of the Marienplatz . A little hard to find as the entrance is on the 5th floor. BUT, one of the best hotels we have stayed in. Rooms are great, very modern with all the tech you need. Everything is in walking distance. If you need to take a day trip, the subway is right downstairs! The staff is wonderful! Sandra Deinzer was especially the best and made our visit special. Although, everyone of the staff was great as well! They accommodate your every need. We will surely stay here again as we plan our next visit.

The view from our room was incredible. We liked opening the windows and listening to the noises coming up from Marienplatz. You couldn’t ask for a better location, a better view, or better service. Our stay in Munich was great, and the hotel only added to it. We will be recommending Beyond by Geisel to any of our friends who wish to visit Munich in the future!

Very small boutique hotel. The staff is warm, friendly, and attentive. We stayed in a Superior Double Room with a View. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. We had to extend our stay as Munich was shut down due to a snowstorm and they were able to accomodate us. The view was beautiful. Plenty of hot water. Filtered water provided free of charge. What we didn't love: Staff/Mgmt difficult or impossible to reach via email or social media messaging. Not ideal for internatiinal travelers. - If you book a street-facing room, prepare for road noise well into the wee hours of the morning and then again at 8am. Pack earplugs if this disturbs you. - The culinary package, listed all over their website, no longer exists. If you eat there, you will pay the menu price. We booked the unforgettable moments package, thinking that was their culinary package, it is not. That package will cover breakfast only which seems off as booking a room and paying for breakfast would have been cheaper. This misunderstanding resulted in an unanticipated charge of approximately 200 Euro give or take. While we inquired, we didn't argue or fuss. We paid in full, but of course we were less than pleased. - Due to the snowstorm, staff was unable to reach the hotel and service was impacted. The staff that managed to arrive functioned admirably, however, service was impacted. For a three night stay, turndown service and towel and tidy was only done on our first night. We noticed the manager made it in the day we checked out, but she made no apology, and we made no fuss. Still, not what one expects from a 'luxury' hotel, or at least, what we personally have experienced from luxury hotels in the past. Even without a snowstorm, one gets the feel that they are way over their heads, over-allocated, etc, or new to hospitality. Light switches are finicky and not intuitive (you'll see if you stay). As we had a great experience with one staff member in particular, we cannot in good conscience, leave a bad review, however, this establishment did not meet expectations in terms of upfront pricing and producing its touted amenities. There are many luxury options in Munich and we've been fortunate to stay in a few of them. For us, this hotel is not one we will consider in the future as there were too many unexpected variables in cost and service. We feel they may be too small to provide a consistent experience and at their price point that's not acceptable to us. Your mileage may vary.

Nice location, you can walk yo most interesting places nearby. It is small and the employees are very helpful and friendly. My only problems where, there is no coffee maker in your room. You have to order and pay for it. Most hotels in Europe today have a Nespresso machine in each room. The other problem was with the space around the bathroom sink, if you are a couple you can’t put toiletries around. That can be solved with a shelf in one of the walls around the sink.

Amazing hotel in the heart of the city. The location couldn't be better, overlooking Marienplatz and within walking distance to the market, beer garden, famous churches and shops. The staff were exceptional, each and every one we encountered, from the front desk, to the wait staff to housekeeping. Every request was granted with a genuine smile. After flying overnight from Canada I had requested an early check in and they provided that happily and efficiently. Even though our room overlooked the busy Marienplatz, the German windows blocked out all the noise and both my husband and I slept well. Should you ever find yourself in Munich, do not hesitate to book this gem of a hotel.

My husband, brother, and I stayed at this hotel when we were in Munich running the Munich marathon in October 2022. It’s one of my favorite hotels I have ever stayed in. Sara and Nicole were awesome and provided the best service. They were so friendly and had great suggestions for day trips, restaurants, etc. The rooms are beautiful with comfortable beds. The shower was amazing. It truly is an awesome hotel. My husband, brother, and sister and I stayed at the hotel in June 2023. The service was still on point. The location of the hotel is great as well. We will definitely be back!

Such a perfect place to stay at when in Munich. Perfect location, however I would suggest booking a view of the Marienplatz. I would also recommend booking the gourmet culinary package as well. The food is incredible. We booked the junior suite which was Devine, the room comes with Aesop products and beautiful quality fixtures and fittings. The linen is Devine and luxe and the pillows are heaven. You can also download Netflix onto your TV if you would like. The staff are very helpful and considerate. Well worth the price

Just the best spot in Munich. A hidden gem with delightful staff and very comfortable accommodation. My wife and I attended a long-weekend in Munich to see P!nk in concert at the Olympic stadium and the theatre. Beyond is so centrally located that everything seems so accessible - particularly as my wife has mobility issues - busses, the metro and even rickshaws took us to our restaurant! The staff couldn't have been more accommodating and I am delighted to leave my first ever review on TA - but the excellence of it all compelled me!

All the elegance of your vacation with the comfort of home. This boutique hotel is in the perfect location for walking and access to the S-Bahn. Beautiful view of the plaza and glockenspiel. The staff was friendly and the room nice and comfortable. Would highly recommend for your visit to Munich. The hotel is in the walking district and a little tough to find. Recommend taking the train. Worth the trip and will definitely stay here again.

Wonderful! The rooms are well-designed, well-maintained, and comfortable; they offer a great view of a busy city plaza while remaining almost perfectly quiet. Very peaceful. The location is fantastic for exploring the heart of Munich or traveling more widely. The food was delicious and generously provisioned (loved the always-available pretzels and fresh fruit). And the staff was incredibly helpful and attentive, consistently surprising us with small touches, local knowledge, and useful foresight for our travel and meals plans. Highly recommended!

I booked this hotel with the culinary package almost a year in advance. I emailed a few times before our stay in particular to confirm the culinary menu since I do not eat meat. Upon arrival…most everything changed. The beverage portion rules had changed along with the menu…150.00 a day for a completely different program. This was so disappointing to me. There was no going back on how I felt about this choice of hotels. This was our sixth hotel in Europe and it was the only disappointment. We ended up spending one night instead of three and moved on to Salzburg. We choose hotels for the most part in the high 4 or 5 star category. This trip included The Four Seasons in Budapest and The Pera Palace in Istanbul. This hotel should have communicated the changes in the program. We made things work by hiring a driver to take us early to Salzburg. On a positive note…the room was nice with a comfortable bed. The location is also very good…if you like a busy area.

Believe it or not, this new boutique hotel occupies only the 5th and 6th floor of the building that sits in front of MarienPlatz, Munich’s Old Town central market square. At first, you’d be stumped to find out where it was – you had to enter a nondescript but locked door then ride the lift to the 5th. A glass door announced the hotel and immediately, you saw the reception desk., manned by Corina, the senior receptionist That led to the kitchenette on the left side and the library in the center, then the lounging-dining area that overlooked MarienPlatz. There were only 19 rooms in the two floors. The whole ‘hotel’ is very modern in design – the central ‘library’ area with its bookshelves that stacked to the open central skylight is a prime example. All their chairs in the dining room as well as the guest rooms are similar – rotating, cushiony with armrests, and leather backing. The tables are all low in height, topped with green granite slabs. The room is wood tiled, and wood is carried into the whole headboard wall, the floor to ceiling wardrobe cabinets, the work desk, and the washbasin area which also looked like a desk, though topped with a stone slab. Interestingly, the work desk was in the middle of the room in front of the bed. There was also no separation between the bedroom-workdesk area and the T&B; only a glass pane on top of the wash basin that reached the ceiling provided a barrier of sorts. In the middle of the glasspane was the mirror – quite innovative. The toilet and the shower had their own privacy stalls made of floor to ceiling frosted glass. The handsoap, shampoo and body wash were all by Aesop, a high-end product line. My wife’s once complaint though was that the hanger bar for clothes was too high for her – she stands 5 feet flat and she needed 4-5 more inches to reach for the hangers. The large TV was on a heavy and stable floor pedestal. The bed, also framed in wood had great accent lights at the bottom, pinlights from the top, and hanging lamps that reached to just a foot above the might stands. Even the light switches were differently designed – and took some getting used to. There were two pieces of sheepskin – we weren’t sure if you used it to warm yourself further. There were floor to ceiling glass doors that opened onto a balcony with its own tables and chairs – what a nice design touch. The staff are very accommodating and work in two shifts. Our main issue was with the breakfast. Since there were only 19 rooms, we understood that Beyond could not provide buffet and instead, all guests could order from their menu. However, this took too much time and there were only three staff so there was a lot of waiting. Also, guests had to eat using the recliner chairs and small low tables, which was not too practical. Clearly there is room for improvement in this area. So for the next day, we decided to pre-order the night before and have it room serviced. And we specified the time for the breakfast to be broug
