Our stay was magnificent! Of course, the beauty of the hotel is undeniable but what made our stay so special was the amazing team. Devonna, Shannon, Martin and Thaddeus created a warm and welcoming environment. Upon arrival, Shanna greeted us with a big smile. We shared that we were only in town for a few days but wanted to experience as much of New Orleans as possible. Shanna explained that Devonna was a NOLA native can could provide insight. Not only did Devonna go out of her way to create a list of fantastic activities. She also made reservations for dinner and tours on our behalf. Martin assisted us with our luggage and provided additional information about NOLA; making us feel welcomed. Thaddeus made a point to introduce himself. He told us about the dining options and offered his assistance. He was also delightful when bringing up our room service. The amazing team was for sure the highlight of our stay. Because of them we had a memorable and magical weekend. We can’t wait to return to Maison de la Luz!

Love the design of this hotel which was the main driver. The location is also great and adjacent to the Ace Hotel with a rooftop bar. However, have to agree with some other reviewers the service is inconsistent. We stayed for four nights. Upon check-in, I was asked if I wanted coffee delivered to my room. I affirmed yes, never received coffee during my stay. Housekeeping missed my room once and turn down service only came two out of the four nights we were there even though the room was unoccupied. Most notably, I found hair in the shower upon check-in. It wasn't a single strand, but hard to miss. I asked them to do additional cleaning, they said they would. I returned to my room, nothing had been done. Eventually, I just cleaned it myself. It's not a great feeling for this caliber of hotel.

Beware of this business! I booked accommodations in August 2023 for a stay on November 4-7 with family. On October 9th I decided to cancel my reservation following their policy of 100% reimbursement if canceled within 14 days. After many, many emails and proof of credit card charge I still have not received any reimbursement. They even claimed in one email that they had no cancelation policy! Now they are claiming they have sent me a check which I of course never received. They accused me of harassing them when all I want is my deposit back for a stay that never occurred. I did file a complaint with BBB and shortly after that I received 2 packages in the mail with very inappropriate messages. I don't have proof it's them but... I've seen another review where someone did not get their deposit back either. Please do not book with them.

How many times have you seen photos of a place, but then when you through the door you wonder if you’ve entered a different hotel? A lot! Or, the photos are of real rooms, but there’s only 1 of THOSE rooms. Well, this was not the case with Maison. Every single expectation and hope I had, was exceeded. The people were welcoming, friendly, and eager to help. The room was stunning. Easily one of the best rooms over stayed in. Then, you have the little things. Of which, there were many! 1. An honor bar, where every drink is $10. 2. Free wine and cheese from 6-8PM. 3. Fresh, warm cookies at 9PM. 4. Coffee and all the fixings delivered to your room, every morning, at a time you pick. The hotel bar / speakeasy was fantastic. Great drinks. Great food. Live music! Was there anything wrong? No. But, two quick points for travelers. 1. Maison does not have a gym. However, their sister hotel, the Acme, does. It’s 1/2 a block away and free to use. 2. The Acme also has a great pool for use by Maison guests. This was such a great hotel experience.

We’d usually stay at the Four Seasons but we saw this boutique hotel and it looked very nice and well placed between the French Quarter and the Museum district so we went for it. However the only thing boutique and vibrant was Marilou’s cocktail bar. The feel when you enter the lobby is quite drab, a bit musty and no atmosphere whatsoever. The staff are very friendly but that doesn’t make up for the poor lighting, dull corridors and lack of spirit. The sister property next door, The Ace, had a vibe. Anyway, it is well overpriced for what it is I am sad to say.

Gorgeous luxurious boutique hotel at perfect location. Excellent trolley access. Even before we arrived Byron Escobar, Chief Concierge had secured reservations at every restaurant we wanted. Our room #53 had beautiful decor, was very spacious, high ceilings, cozy, sunny, with gorgeous bathroom. Housekeeping impeccable. Loved our nightly turndown service. Every morning delicious coffee sent to your room.

This is an opulent hotel, last week, I visited for my birthday, the photographs do not do the hotel justice. My room was beautifully designed and very quiet - as a light sleeper, I was pleased to be able to sleep thru the night. The staff went above and beyond to make my birthday special by helping my friends organize surprise cake and flowers. The restaurant suggestions given my the staff were satisfying to my pallet. The speakeasy was a delightful treat.

This is a magical and fantastically eclectic and aesthetic hotel in a superb location for exploring NOLA. We had a huge and beautifully presented room and the room service throughout our stay was exceptional. The staff are friendly and relaxed, the sociability of the common areas (for instance cheese and wine in the guest lounge every evening) is really great. There is a cool vibe, with music and snacks always on hand. The decor is White Lotus meets Soho House. There is a secret speakeasy and the connected Marilou Bar is a vibe. Prices are high as you wold expect for this level of luxury.

Devona was so rude to me she hung the phone up on me while I was asking about a charge after checking out. The front desk staff are rude and unprofessional. I found out that Devona is a manager that is disappointing because throughout my stay I felt unwelcome by her staff. I also hear employees complain about how rude she is to them. Overall do not recommend unless new management’s and staff are hired asap.

Maison de la Luz is a gem . The lobby and rooms are comfortable and elegant . The location is convenient to uptown and the French Quarter but there is much to do and see in the immediate neighborhood: shops, galleries, coffee shops and restaurants . The real reason to stay at Maison de La Luz is the friendly, warm and knowledgeable staff . The reception and dining room staff are exceptional and seem to make each guest feel special .
Response from Property: Salut bobf528, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay in our House of Light. Please come back soon Team la Luz

This is a nice enough hotel but not the top-notch experience one would expect for the price (over $500 per night on weekends for a basic room). Pros: comfortable beds and bedding, good shower, friendly staff, and clean. Excellent cocktails in the bar. Cons: The room was nice but minimal. There is no tea/coffee making facility in the room: they will bring you a thermos with water and 1 teabag per person if you ask, and leave it at your door, but this is less flexible, and on occasion they failed to bring the requested milk, or brought a thermos filled with coffee instead of hot water. They hold your room key at the front desk but appear to be understaffed so on one occasion when there was no one at the desk, after we waited 5 minutes, we just went behind the counter and got our own key, which doesn't create a great impression of service or security. Our refrigerator wasn't working the first day, and they said they fixed it, but it still wasn't working the second day. The manager was gracious and waived our local tourist tax part of the bill, but it would have been nice to be able to have a cold beer in the room. All in all it was reasonably pleasant but no more so than the places I have stayed for half the price.
