The staff was friendly and very helpful. It is in such a convenient location. Great for walking around the town and down by the piers. The coffee in the AM was sooo good in the lobby!

No handsoap, tiny rooms, and either super hot or super cold. Also no smart tv which is weird to not have nowadays.
With all that being said, Hammetts was clean and service staff was friendly. Newport is beautiful.

The hotel is beautifully-decorated, especially the lobby areas, and spotlessly clean. The surrounding area is great, walkable to everything, and having the wonderful Giusto restaurant next door is a bonus. We had an issue with lighting in our room which they were unable to fix during our stay but the staff reimbursed our parking as compensation.
Overall, we thought it was a good hotel but some touches would make it great - better pillows, more choice of milks/teas with the morning coffee (and having drinks available all day), fridges in the rooms (though we did get one on request which we appreciated), and instructions on how to adjust the heating in rooms, we could never get the temperature quite right! The rooms were also not very sound-proofed, but no more than average for a hotel.

Beautiful place! Like other reviewers stated- my room was very small. Very small shower, no refrigerator or even ice buckets in the room which I didn't love. But regardless- lovely property and would stay again.

Great location, adorable decor, and wonderful open common spaces. Only surprise was how small our bedroom was.
