The location of the hotel is excellent — it’s only a five-minute walk to the Louvre and very close to two metro lines, which made getting around the city very easy. The staff was kind and understanding; when we were given a room on the 5th floor, we were quite scared to use the very old and tiny elevator, and they kindly moved us to a room on the 1st floor.
However, the building itself is very old, and the rooms are unbelievably small. We came with two suitcases and two backpacks, and opening one suitcase meant the other couldn’t be opened. When two people stood up at the same time, there was barely any space to move.
The beds were comfortable, but the sound insulation was terrible. Every time a door opened or closed on our floor, it felt like it was happening inside our own room. We could also hear the elevator loudly, and there was a constant shaking sensation, probably from the metro lines. So it was difficult for us to fall asleep even when we came to our rooms tired walking around the city.
The bathroom was a disappointment — extremely tiny and uncomfortable. I almost felt claustrophobic. There wasn’t even enough space around the sink to place a toothbrush.
Overall, I couldn’t enjoy my stay, it was too bad that I didn’t even feel like returning to the room in the evenings.
