I visited with my Mum to attend a wedding at a nearby venue. We had a room with a sea view, which was amazing. The location really is stunning and having Mount Edgecombe country park a few steps from the door is definitely a plus! The staff were super friendly, and always smiling. The pub is really quaint, the breakfast and one evening meal we had there was really good. There were just a couple of disappointing bits. There was a plumbing problem with the loo, the flush was slow and we came in a couple of times to find nasties down there… we reported it several times but it was not rectified. After a 8 hour journey from home, we desperately wanted a cuppa. We went to make one to find the cups were really dirty. Some replacements were brought up to us straight away but for the price it is something that should be checked. The TV remote didn’t work properly so you had to get up to change the channel or volume each time. When we left for the wedding, we left the (very lovely!) cleaning lady tending to our room. We arrived back at nearly midnight, to find the room unlocked, the lights on and the windows open. Which meant at midnight we were killing midges with a can of deodorant. She was lovely and we didn’t want to get her in trouble but it was a bit concerning. We would still come back as apparently new management are doing a refurb in January.

Visited for food after walk with dogs. It was very clear that the place was under new management from the last time we visited. The staff were very attentive they couldn't do enough for us, even bringing dog water bowls to every table with pets. Food and drink was great. Thankyou very much will be visiting again very soon 👍

Friendly staff. Lovely room with Seaview. Meals were delicious. Our second visit here and would definitely go again. We went across on the small ferry which runs every half hour to Plymouth. It was then a short bus ride into the city centre.

Booked a table at Edgcumbe Arms for a Sunday carvery after a nice walk around Mount Edgecombe. We were greeted on arrival by the very welcoming bar staff and were shown to our table. They explained todays menu and took our drink and food orders. We ordered a meat and vegetarian carvery and both carvery’s where very enjoyable, tasty and we could not fault them. A very big congratulations to all the chef’s, bar staff and waitresses you are do an amazing job and we will be back soon. We haven’t eaten here since we had a awful experience with the previous owners so we wanted to congratulate the new owners on turning this pub around and making it a great pub again well done the whole team.

My wife and I spent a very pleasant and comfortable Saturday night on my wife's birthday, 29th October '22, in the Superior River View King room. A lovely bouquet of flowers had thoughtfully been placed in the room and we were made most welcome by the assistant manager Scott and by Heidi, who had taken our reservation previously on the telephone. A table was reserved for us for dinner that evening, with a bottle of Champagne in an ice bucket just as we had requested and the dinner itself was excellent and attentively served to us by Scott. Breakfast the next morning was most satisfying, the sun was shining and we left the convenient small private car park reserved for residents, in a happy and contented mood. The walks to be enjoyed freely nearby in the marvellous Edgcumbe gardens are a delight and make the prospect of returning for another stay some time, a most pleasant one. JS-R

We stayed at the Edgcumbe Arms, for one night when friends got married at Maker Heights nearby. We arrived early for check in and were greeted by the new owner who showed us to our room and made sure we had instructions on how to get back into the pub should we have a late night and numbers for local taxis which is cleverly attached to the room key! Lovely bright room, super comfy bed and a good breakfast the next morning. All the team we interacted with were friendly and professional, and with parking on site it was a great choice and great stay. Would recommend.

Perfect start to our holiday! We broke our journey from Northants to The Lizard at The Edgecumbe Arms, accompanied by our greyhound Cecil. We received the warmest of welcomes from the team on duty on our arrival and were shown to room 4, a spacious, light, clean bedroom with a large sofa and a panoramic view of the Plymouth Sound. Plenty of safe walks on the doorstep through the beautiful Mount Edgecumbe estate and gardens. The staff here seem genuinely friendly and gave us a table in the bar area with space for Cecil to lie down on his blanky while we ate (he was given a bowl of water and biscuits too!) The portions were generous without being overpowering and we particularly enjoyed the prawn and crayfish cocktail served on a bed of really fresh, crisp lettuce which actually tasted of lettuce! The treacle and orange tart washed it down a treat!! The king size bed was incredibly comfortable and we spent a peaceful night, waking well-rested to another walk and a hearty breakfast-I chose the vegan option and it set me up for the rest of the day. The Edgecumbe Arms has got their offering 100% right on every level, the beautiful old building, stunning location, enhanced by the fabulous team who looked after us. A huge thank you to all of you xx
