Reviews of Hostel Dakura

I arrived on March 27, 2026. My English is very poor, but the receptionist was extremely patient in explaining things to me, which was a huge plus. The hotel is located very close to the station and is very clean overall.

I like this hostel! It’s old fashioned, clean, and the bed is soft and comfortable. The staff is really kind, and he was patient to all of my questions.

It's OK, the price is cheap, it's close to the subway station and tram station, and you can walk to the castle. However, the distance between the lower and upper beds is relatively close, and you have to put your head on the bed when sitting.

The hotel is quite old and the soundproofing isn't great. There's no curtain covering the bed, so consider this if you're concerned about privacy. However, the bathroom and room were very clean. There's a hairdryer in the bathroom, and towels are provided. The staff was very friendly.

Overall OK, relatively safe

The stay was okay but our 90 plus euro worth chocolates that we purposely flew to Germany to buy got stolen from the communal kitchen fridge despite having them labelled with our room number as requested from the notice. We reported to the staff but they said they can't do anything about it because there are no cameras in the kitchen. This really soured our experience in this hostel.

Loved this hostel! The neighbourhood is cute and close to the center and to transit. The lobby is welcoming and the staff friendly. There is an elevator! There are also shared kitchens (there was one on our floor) and a laundry room for guests. The rooms are clean and cheerful (at least, ours was, anyway). We (my son and I) had a private room with only two outlets in it; this made things a little difficult, but we figured it out. We had only two small problems: 1. The pillows were basically nonexistent; I had to roll mine up to make it work. 2. The first night we were there, some guests were talking loudly in the hall at 3:30 AM and I had to go out and ask them to take the conversation somewhere else, because it echoes pretty badly. But management can't control people's inconsiderate behaviour. Fabulous experience, would return.

Really enjoyed our stay at Hostel Dakura! The hostel was lovely with a vintage feel. The staff were lovely and very helpful. The room was spacious and very clean. We felt very safe there too. The shared bathrooms were clean and worked really well. We were in a good area to get to the old town - although maybe not the best if you aren’t good with hills! Would definitely recommend.

I liked that vintage vibe of the hostel. It was cheap so don't expect much, there were old equipment. The toilets are shared so that's a disadvantage. The garden was really quite, great place for just chilling. Also the receptionists were very friendly and helpful.
