An excellent hotel at a very high level! Rooms are decorated in a very nice and pleasant way, a hardworking staff that takes care of everything, a very good and tasty breakfast, a very comfortable and quiet place without all the hustle and bustle of the center, the hotel is located a few minutes' walk from the green metro line. Wonderful! 10/10

A nice quiet hotel. We arrived late at night, and was greeted nicely, but then the receptionist went into hard sell mode on trips, when all we wanted was to get to our room. Room was smallish, separate toilet and bathroom. I struggled to get on the shower, which was over the bath due to lack of room & replacement knees. Breakfast was basic but adequate. The bar was never open which was disappointing. It's a long way off the beaten track, I struggle with mobility and wouldn't have booked here if I'd realised it was so far from the main attractions.

Whilst the hotel is in a quiet suburb, it most certainly is not a short walk from Old Town. Having recently visited Prague at Christmas with my parents (active 80 yrs) it is at least a 45 - 60 min walk up/down a steep hill, busy with traffic. The tram system is difficult to navigate, however we did discover the metro stop nearby which was simple to use. Nothing hugely detrimental to say about the hotel, bar area a little small, housekeeping could be better (wiping down surfaces/removing glasses), but overall facilities in the rooms were acceptable as was the bathroom. Sadly we felt let down by our welcome ... there wasn't one! - Not a smile or good morning from any member of staff, any attempt at conversation was rebuffed, there was not even a flicker of reaction to our festive jumpers on Christmas Morning!

Hotel is NOT in city centre, bar / lounge is NOT open in the day... no hot drinks other than in room (no milk) No facilities at all on NYD, ok it's a holiday but don't take bookings advertised with facilities when you know there won't be any, when asked was directed to shop! Breakfast is not good, same as most places really... All in all quite disappointed

Not in the city centre 13mins far from the metro. Photos of the room are not real or maybe We were unlucky: rooms are smaller. Shower is separated from wc. Hotel is a mixture of new and communist style. Service is good price is good. Breakfast is ok

This was our second stay at the Ametyst Hotel. We were delighted with all aspects of our stay. the hotel organised transfer to and from the airport. The hotel was clean, comfortable and warm given that it was snowing when we arrived. The staff are professional and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and catered for all tastes. The hotel is slightly out of the tourist centre but close to good public transport links - the tram and metro and therefore represents good value for money is a quieter district of the city. We would highly recommend this hotel.

Pretty good location if you don’t mind taking the metro (train) into town. But some basics missing, for example: No black out curtains No door security in lifts (you can call a lift from the lobby without an access card, or any type of security, meaning anyone can come up or down any time of day or night) No iron / board in room as standard 5 hangers in a double room wardrobe- not enough! No aircon and it’s all analog very very dated Mini bar not stocked on arrival No additional pillows / feather Sauna £18 / 400 per hour, not free! Noisy rooms. So I was in room 102 which was a short walk away from the lifts and it was extremely noisy on level one of a five story hotel yeah the walls were paper thin, I could hear everything The beds were extremely short I’m only 5‘11“ and my feet were fully hanging off the ends of the bed . Super short beds! I guess the other strange part which is quite common in a lot of European destinations, but even with a double bed, they give you two individual duvets which are barely enough each to cover a bum cheek

Good points are it’s in a quiet area and it’s economical, it’s clean and has a good breakfast. But it also seems to attract youth groups who kept me awake until the early hours of the morning running and shouting in the corridor till 2am. The shower room and toilet are tiny. And I’m worried about having an electric hair dryer above the wash basin, wouldn’t be allowed in the UK by law. At the weekend we had student’s on reception so asking for a plug was the wash basin was a waste of time, make sure you bring a plug! . It’s about ten minutes walk to the Metro. Ok if you want somewhere to sleep but not a lot of character. Younger people or families will be happy here.

Nice, cozy place, friendly and helpful staff. Breakfasts OK, room pleasant. Satisfied our needs. Not far to the city centre (15 mins by walk for us, but there is a tram and subway stop not far from the hotel).
