Clean rooms, friendly front desk service. Restaurant and bar are closed but it’s right across the street from the tobacco factory and it’s food and environment are amazing! Great location and safe area to walk the streets too! We will be back for sure!

The Berkeley is a charming Shockoe Slip area hotel. Our room was comfortable, with an interior that reflected the southern charm of the area. It is conveniently located, in the Shockoe Slip area.

Sweet and convenient hotel for our one night stay. Valet parking if needed, desk personnel is prompt and personable. We always stay at Berkeley Hotel when we travel.

Location and accommodations are great! My only complaint is check-in isn't until 4pm and my room wasn't ready until much later. I requested an early check-in by email months in advance and was told to call the morning of check-in. I called the morning of, was reassured it no problem, and still my room was delayed.

We arrived at 3:45pm for a 4:00pm check in- we were checked in at 4:50. I’ll admit I was a little frustrated at first especially since others were walking in after me and being checked in. Alfreda the pm manager explained the situation that there were staffing issues and there were only 3 to launder and clean the rooms. She apologized and once checked in, every staff member apologized on our way to our room. Alfreda made it more than right with adjus**ents to our bill. The room was clean and beds were super comfortable. I highly recommend this property even despite the hiccup. I was so appreciative for the transparency and their attempt to make it right. I bought them each chocolate samples from the local chocolate festival. Thank you for working hard to make sure each guest is taken care of.

Very cozy hotel with lots of restaurants in neighborhood. A bit worn around the edges but very clean and we didn’t mind a bit! There is an upcoming reno-hope it preserves the cozy feel!
