This hotel is perfectly situated on the main square in Salta, close to major attractions. It was built in 1942 and retains a charm of days gone by. It is well maintained and keeps the flavor of the past. Rooms are small but comfortable. There is a garden with a pool. The breakfast was served in an amazing dining room with beautiful murals. We had some trouble with air conditioning the first night but the staff quickly addressed the issue. Som area of improvement: better maintenance of the pool and pool area would be nice. Some outdoor seating for the breakfast would also be nice. But please keep the charm and soul. This is not a cookie-cutter hotel. We loved it.

I will definitely go back to Salta (which is beautiful by the way) but will not choose this hotel again. My choise of staying there was mainly because of its location, which is indeed great. Rooms and bedding were always very clean. I don´t recommend a standard room since the shower area is minuscule (and due to the shower curtain, the bathroom floods everytime someone showers). The breakfast is served on a beautiful and large room, but the food items seemed always to be from the day before. It´s not bad, but could be better for a self proclaimed 4* hotel. The breakfast though, was really nice and helpful. Unfortunately, I had a very unpleasant situation with the reception desk for two nights in a row. My mom caught a cold, so I went downstairs (I didn´t even call, I went there myself) to get a mug or cup with hot water so I could fetch her some tea (which I had taken with me from home, God forbid I ask for that too). The guy told me they didn´t have any that could be borrowed for guests, just the ones the staff used there. I said that was ok if I could have it, since it was almost 10 P.M. so a bit late to go out and buy one. He wasn´t very pleased on lending it to me. Anyways, fast forward to a few hours later ( I cannot be precise here because I was already asleep) the room phone rings and the person asks me about the cup I had borrowed! Importante side note: it was a corporate gift mug from the car rental company near the hotel... it wasn´t even a hotel one. Anyways, I told him we were already asleep and I would take it back the next morning first thing, since we would leave really early next morning (not leave the hotel, leave for a tour). So next morning I did as I said i would. Different staff at the desk, I told them what had happened, he apologized etc. The next night I needed the same thing once again and thought, well, they already know I´m not a mug thief, so they will lend it again right? Same guy from the night before comes with a espresso mug (really small) saying that was the only one they had. Clearly he didn´t want to help me because I had complained (and he probably got questioned about it). So I left the hotel (at 9:45 P.M) to buy a mug to fetch my mom another tea. I was not only disappointed but also offended. Anyways, I don´t recommend it at all. All the nice things got lost after that.

Old style building, but furnished and equipped to a very modern and high standard.

The hotel is in a great location. There is no doubt that hotel employees need more training. Upon check-in, the receptionist gave us a key card which has a sticker with the room number (what?? Really??). They told us that they recommend leaving the card key at the masquerade every time we were leaving the hotel (what????). In addition, we were told that if we lose the key card they will charge us five dollars. Breakfast might be ok for the locals. The coffee was undrinkable. This hotel is far to host international guest.

This is a traditional and prestigious hotel, I have stayed there many times over the years. But it needs updating in the furnishings and the bath room

A great location! The lobby, public areas have an old, classic feel. The rooms are basic and comfortable.

A good hotel ideally located right in the centre of Salta. The hotel was built in 1942 and it well restored. Very friendly staff, comfortable beds. We needed to use the laundry service but we were surprised by high prices. They count it by items and there is no discount e.g. for a bag of the clothes of the same colour.

Hotel Salta was a nice hotel where we stayed for one night. The hotel is located in the heart of Salta and thus has a superior location. It also has a great view. The rooms were fine. There was space and it was tidy. The bathroom was also clean. Unfortunately, it smells a bit from time to time. This is due to the age of the rooms / the hotel. The hotel has a good breakfast buffet and the service was fast. We had a good selection at the buffet and were also served quickly with drinks. The Gym was a disgrace. You could not do any sports here. There were 2-3 machines. But they were so old that you had to be afraid to use them. They were also rusty. We have not used the pool. But it looked good. Super was also the English speaking staff and the included parking. Prise wise it was ok.

We stayed there for 5 nights. During our stay Salta hit 39 C (102 F) with humidity, we really enjoyed the pool to chill out. They offer very nice breakfast with service (It is not buffet style, the staff ask you what you want and they serve you). All of the staff were great but I especially would like to point out that Ivana in the breakfast room and Oscar in the Lobby were exceptional. I am looking forward to our next visit here in Salta.
