The room was underwhelming, and several cockroaches were spotted. The TV was problematic both nights we were there, and it was a mission to get it working, taking up half our evening when all we needed to do was relax. Such limited channels too and bad resolution on the TV. When I told the manager this once I had checked out, he didn't even bother to reply. Not sure where all those 9.8 reviews come from on *********** or wherever I booked, but it definitely wasn't almost a 10. More like a 3. We spent the following two nights at the City Lodge in Bryanston and it was such a relief to stay at a better place.

I stay in Haystack for one night during a business trip. Very nice place and people. Location with garden and pool where it's possible to relax a little be at the end of a working day. If I'll came back in Johannesburg I'll try to book here another time.

Excellent location and really good value for long stays (30 days+). Excellent rooms in peaceful surroundings with a pool and excellent security during my stay. The service was top level and i will stay again in any future visit to Johannesburg / Sandton area.

I enjoyed my stay at The Haystack on Homestead. The property is clean, safe, and well-maintained. I loved the room we stayed in and I enjoyed my time relaxing in the garden and by the pool. The garden and pool area is absolutely beautiful. The place is also near a lot of shopping centres, entertainment places, and restaurants. It is located in a good and safe area. The staff members were also friendly and they made us feel at home. I highly recommend the place, I will definitely book there again.

The idea was to have a quiet end to the year as well as beginning & we certainly got that. It is conveniently located to nearby shops. And offers great general service. The rooms are spacious yet so intimate at the same time. Definitely worth the money.

Haystack on Homestead is a beautiful property with a lovely big garden and pool which was perfect for our large family group to relax and unwind in. The staff are a pleasure and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. 5 stars!

The only thing you could add to the rooms, are tissues. (short tissues) The soap/bodywash in the shower was quite refreshing - really lovely. Love your breakfast ideas. lovely relaxing garden and swimming pool.

I booked the accommodation as bed and breakfast, but did not receive breakfast as reasonably would be expected for a bed and breakfast option. The owner was not willing to accommodate my early check out as a result

Good place for single businesswomen who need secure accommodation, with good access and good lighting. I really appreciated the heater light in the bathroom and the fact that there was a plug near a mirror for a hairdryer - not always the case! Polite and helpful staff. Bed not the most comfortable however.
