Forest Escapes Koyna An escape from the outer world to the innerself... Changing landscapes, changing skies, riots of pleasing colours all the way upto infinity, constant play of beautiful birds with musical symphony, cidacas giving background music, gentle whispering breeze rustling the leaves, serene Koyna water moving at a speed that slows down your thoughts to a minimum, putting you into a meditative state. And then you start listening to your inner voice... Amazing campus, palate pleasing food, courteous staff and services... Indeed a retreat...and excited to visit Forest Escapes Koyna post rains again...

Forest Escapes near Koyna is the ideal place to visit if you are looking for peace and quiet amidst nature. The resort itself is spread over a large area and has the rooms located in different areas. There is ample parking space too. The eco friendly resort is very well maintained with neat, clean and spacious rooms. They promote sustainability and dissuade the use of single use plastic and have glass bottles for water in the rooms and soap dispensers in the wash rooms. They have multiple swimming pools too. The staff is very polite and courteous and available to help at all times. A special mention of Mr Vinay Kadam who was omni present to answer all queries. The food is good and offer a fair amount of The place is a treat for nature lovers and we ***aged to spot over 30 species of birds just within the premises. In case you are looking for a quiet and comfortable holiday, Forest Escapes is the place to go.

Koyna forest escapes - Affiliated resort of club Mahindra. (visited for 3 nights as CM member from 21-24 Feb with another couple friend) Ambience - a green resort full of trees, shrubs and bushes..i observed around 26 species of birds just within the resort, that too with very little effort. Iam sure with good effort and exploration in and around the resort one will find more species. The resort has walking areas, which leads to their little farm with cow shed and poultry farm. A good swimming pool and a good green view from the balcony of the rooms. Rooms- beautifully done. No kitchenette. Has a mini fridge and kettle for tea and coffee and a canister for drinking water. Clean and tidy and housekeeping staff is very friendly. Restaurant - just next to he reception, beautiful dinning area... With the quality and taste for the food, the prices are reasonable... Felt like home cooked food, yummy tasty... Tea is expensive 😀. There is a restaurant on the main road, which is good enough, but all veg. My suggestion is to go for the resort restaurent. Roaming around: just on the main road opposite the restaurant river view they have an access to the river side... Nice place to spend few hours in the evening. They do arrange barbecue evening for the guests. 6 kms away is nehru garden, beautiful garden and will give a view to the koyna dam... If you take a guide front he gate he will take you to the back waters which is just beautiful. One of the best affiliated resort of CM, full marks, great for relaxation. Bird species observed Spotted dove Brown headed barbet Black hooded oriole Black drongo Blyths reed warbler Indian white eye Puff throated babbler Jungle Babbler Indian black bird Magpie Robin Tickells blue flycatcher Crimson backed sunbird Purple sunbird Gray jungle fowl Greater coucal Gray hornbill Coppersmith barbet White checked barbet Red whispered bulbul Red Vented Bubul Indian scimitar Babbler Red breasted flycatcher White rumped munia Tailor bird White browed fantail Large billed crow

We stayed 4 nights at Forest Escapes as a family of 2 adults and 2 kids. There is a steep climb up on a dirt road for the last 800 m to get to the resort but the rest of the route on the highway from Mumbai was great. The resort rooms were basic but clean. We stayed in Magnolia room which had a sofa cum bed in a sitting area and a king size bed in the bedroom which was perfect for us. The view from the balcony was lovely and every morning we could spot ***y birds while enjoying our tea. There is a bit of walking to the main reception area which maybe difficult for senior citizens and handicapped persons. The resort had plenty of activities to keep the kids occupied. Their outdoor play area has a trampoline and burma bridge and the indoor activity room had some fun games including a foosball table. They also have paid activities like birdwatching, fishing, barbecue and safari. We tried all of them but enjoyed birdwatching the most. The food was quite enjoyable. Breakfast buffet is sumptuous especially the south indian style dishes. We ate most meals at their restaurant Kokum and loved their Maharashtran delicacies. The only issue we faced was that housekeeping services were slightly sluggish and delayed. Overall highly recommended

Its a quiet resort near Patan (near Karad) in Maharashtra. We stayed in a Delux room which is given to Club Mahindra Members. Its a standard basic room. There are cottages/Villas also available for non members which are bigger, some with attached pool. The resort has a lawn, swimming pool, SPA and activity room and a farm nearby which can be visited with host guide. The room is very basic without proper place to keep luggage (you need to keep it on a sofa in the passage or on the ground), there is no mini bar. Attached balcony has a mountain/pool view. The food is available in the restaurant and you need to order it in advance as kitchen capacity is limited. The taste is good and service is excellent. You can take a walk within resort on paved roads and enjoy some greenery and get to know various trees planted. You can buy locally produced fruits, papad and other items. The Koyana dam is 8-9 km away and if you come during rainy season or just after that, you can visit/enjoy waterfalls near Navaja/Ozarde etc. Its a good place to relax with family for a couple of days away from city hustle/bustle.

We visited this place our 2nd time after a gap of almost 3 years in last week of February 2022. With Winter almost fading away, we did not carry any warm clothing except our thin jackets just in case they are needed. I am a Club Mahindra member and we are given the bookings to this resort with payment of nominal differential amount i.e., 1000 INR per person per night per room and by the way of Tariff, our available days inventory is deducted by the number of days we avail our stay at such affiliated resorts. So we were 3 of us and the room being allowed to accommodate only 2 individuals, we paid 800 INR per night which was informed to me when I had called the resort. At the time of check-in, there was some irritating confusion by the way that the person was not aware of the Club Mahindra scheme and hence we had to wait till everything was sorted out. And till that time I was wondering how our trip would progress. However, things started falling in the groove as we checked in to our room. The resort facility has standard / deluxe rooms that are usually given to the Club Mahindra members and which was absolutely fine to us as we were there just to relax and enjoy the time as we had already done the sight seeing. The rooms have a balcony that overlooks a small lawn area and about 10-15 foot trees that are full of chirping birds in the morning. The resort has provided them with water and food in the bowls / trays / nests or something that resembles their dwellings and they happily visit. Amidst the lawn, there are paved walk ways with special red colored stones that lead to the swimming pool and reception area. The weather, although sunny through out the day, was very much pleasant. The staff is cordial and attends to most your needs. The plants are looked after well and with an emphasis on organic ***ures and we can see almost every plant even though small, starts flowering / fruiting and the yield is of good quality. The power and water arrangements are very good and have been well ***aged. And more importantly, we cannot undermine the food. We mostly get Maharashtrian cuisine in the resort; but that may depend on the occupancy as well. Any kind of roti ordered here is extremely good in taste. The rotis are perfectly round and evenly cooked almost every time. Jowar rotis are soft and full of taste. The subji and special delicacies like pithla and baingan bharta are too good. Owing to less occupancy on certain occassions, the variety of food is limited but whatever is available is very well made and served. Sometimes, there is music played while dinning or there is a Karaoke night as well. If you choose to see places near by, a visit to Koyna nagar Nehru Udyan is a must see. If you can arrange for a local guide, negotiate with him and he shall show you around as there is just natural beauty and not a particular spot to be. There is also a way you can enjoy local food at their other facility which is a cabin accommodation at Kathi village. Basi

I had my 2nd stay completed at Forest Escapes koyna Resort Koyna a few days back on my marriage anniversary event with family friends . The hospitality of the staff members, the ambience with beautiful lawns , Restaurant food are simply fascinating. The scenery is beyond the best and no doubt it is the best . I had also opted for a decoration of the room I already said, it was my 2nd stay. I keep coming back to this place…

Tucked away off the highway on a hill, the resort is surrounded by a forest (the name) and you need to have strong legs and some strength to explore the resort. Rooms are functional (we had a 1BR booked with Club Mahindra), though no kitchenette (only the standard kettle and a mini-fridge) which would have been a big addition. An attached farm is a good exploration (wear good shoes) and the rest of the paths are generally a good trek with benches at intervals to rest. We also enjoyed a night open air barbeque which served good and tasty unlimited spread (combination of traditional flavours and biryani). Ordered room service on another night, the dishes were quite tasty (we ended up ordering twice because the portions were a little less than expected). In and around nothing much to do with the dam inaccessible, the waterfalls dry, and the safari not really offering much. Good for a weekend relaxation. Better to go in the monsoon to really enjoy the scenery and the promise of Koyna.
