Wow! What a team of professionals in Tanzania. Fernando and Rosio have the best service team in any national park we have visited. Anywhere. Our five star service started at the Seronera Airfield. Our game driver for the week, Calvin Mboya, met our flight and had a table set up in the shade, snacks and cold drinks. Kilimanjaro and Safari beers! Calvin proved to be a first class game driver with a lot of knowledge about the animals, birds and the Serengeti. Without Calvin’s experience we never would have seen so much wildlife. We had six full days with Calvin. The best African Message driver in Tanzania. The front desk staff lead by David is first class. Hadji was great help. The first class concierge services of Doreen and Marco were much appreciated. The restaurant was incredible. Chacha the manager made sure we were taken care of everyday. The world class staff is simply the best. Waiters Joshua Micheal, Majid and Jesca Peter gave us ten star service everyday. Very funny guys. In the bar Esau and Silas gave us personal service. Both these guys are first class. The Maasai Warriors were a highlight for us. What gracious people. Saiboku is a real gentleman. He actually has invited me to visit his Boma in the future. The entire staff, no matter the job, were absolutely outstanding. Everyday for example, Rupilyia the pool attendant would stop me, say hello and see how my day was going. A real nice guy. Tammy and I loved our stay and plan to return soon. The staff made it all so special. An unforgettable experience.

- Very nice and beautiful lodge. - Very friendly and attentive staff. - Big and comfortable rooms with nice balcony looking towards the bush. - Food could be better(( - Food menu should be refreshed. - Bathroom was a bit shabby. - Rooms already require some renovation.

What a location. It's a bit of a drive from Seronera Airport. But it's worth it. Once you reach the site, it is like a fairytale. It's hard to imagine such a place in the middle of the Serengeti. Great service. Everyone was welcoming and friendly. The view from the sitting area is breathtaking. The food is great and money well spent.

The hotel is located inside the Serengeti. The view is amazing. The staff is very helpful and the service is 10 out of 10. The rooms are comfortable but not too big. The pool is cold if it’s not sunny outside Cocktails in the bar are very delightful Definitely will be back.

Going on safari is an expensive undertaking that payment transparency should be paramount when excursions are add-ons and you do not speak the language of the country you are visiting. Unfortunately, it is for this reason I cannot recommend the Melia Serengeti as there were three (3) separate incidents around payment that culminated into an overall negative experience that made me feel compelled to share this story. I do not want anyone to feel as embarrassed as the Melia Serengeti made our group feel! I have also attached a screengrab from another review that echoes similar payment issues, so unfortunately this is not an isolated issue. I did try to resolve this matter privately with Benjamin Paul, Senior Sales Manager, but I never received a response even though my email was sent to an active email address. Our trip was November 2023 into December 2023 and consisted of two couples celebrating two 40th Birthdays. Leading into our trip I had been corresponding via WhatsApp with Rocio Zapata. When we arrived at Serengeti she was setting up for a sunset proposal and when she learned that we had arrived in the lobby she ran up the stairs to greet us. Unfortunately, the greeting began with a full-frontal hug of my husband, who she thought she was corresponding with via WhatsApp even though it was actually me. I felt that was an inappropriate greeting, but it did not bother me until subsequent unprofessional transactions with Rocio. During this greeting, all four of us spoke to her and we heard her inform us that we could do a complimentary walking safari. For context, she and I were corresponding via WhatsApp and she told me about the terms and price for the walking safari, so we were pleasantly surprised to know it would be free. When it came time to book the walking safari with another staff member, they told us we would have to pay. After we explained what we were told by Rocio, the Concierge pulled out a screengrab from my WhatApp conversation with Rocio where she was informing me of the price. I did not want to feel like a thief, nor appear like I did not remember what I was quoted on WhatsApp, so we declined the opportunity. Upon arrival at the Serengeti we were awkwardly encouraged to pay upon arrival, which is not a customary practice at luxury resorts, but we obliged. When I have stayed at various IHG's Six Senses or Equinox Hotels, they never asked to authorize the full freight of the stay in advance. In line with this strange practice, after we checked out from Serengeti we traveled to Melia Arusha for one night before our flight. That day at Melia Arusha, we received a panicked phone call to our room from Serengeti saying that they forgot to charge us for our balloon ride. They offered to send a separate bill to our email which we agreed to pay, even though we had signed and paid for our hotel invoice twice already, upon check-in and check-out. Shortly after they called again and changed the terms of payment. Th

We reserved a stay at the Melia Serengeti lodge for three nights. Our initial impression was fantastic – the front office staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, always striving to surpass expectations. Special thanks to CHACHA for his outstanding service at the restaurant. The front office manager, David Larius, was exceptional in ensuring our resort experience was magical. The entire staff provided top-notch service, with standout mentions to Majid and Jesica at the restaurants, and Doreen at reception, who truly made our stay unforgettable. I highly recommend visiting this remarkable property for an adventure-filled and soul-refreshing experience.

Our family of 4 stayed at Melia Serengeti for 3 nights in January 2024. It’s a beautiful property with a gorgeous view over the Serengeti plains. The rooms were a good size with air conditioning and ceiling fans and all the amenities you expect from a 5 start resort. It took us a little getting used to the family style dinners as there was so much food and we quickly learnt to specify only the courses of food we really needed. The kitchen was extremely accommodating of our requests for different meals for our daughters - nothing was too much trouble and we were well looked after by Mr ChaCha and Nathaniel. The interior design especially in the hotel common areas is beautiful. The only reason I gave this 4 stars and not 5 stars is that the hotel is located a solid hour drive from where you will see the most wildlife within the park. That made for some long days of game drives - but it was worth it to experience the amazing array of animals in the Serengeti.

Melia Serengeti was just perfect. The place is a captivating space that instills so much serenity, happiness and joy from the moment you cross its threshold. It was our second stop with my partner in our journey through Tanzania, and honestly - one that we could not have missed. Far from its beautiful design, inspiring landscapes, immaculate facilities and breathtaking sunset, the Melia lodge was unique to our experience thanks to the outstanding team that welcomed us from the very beginning until the moment we waved goodbye. Huge praise to its resident manager - Fernando - for his warm welcome, his constant smile and his careful care to organize a walking safari and a spa session for us! Both of these - highly recommendable experiences. Furthermore, It was our anniversary on the first night, and the whole team made sure we felt the love. They brought out a cake and sang for us a traditional Swahili chant, which brought together the entire restaurant, staff and guests included! Their consideration and empathy towards our special day will be forever memorable. THANK YOU to every member of the Melia Serengeti Lodge for being magically true to the concept of hospitality. <3

I stayed at this property with my wife’s family for 2 days. The location is stunning, in the middle of the Serengeti park. The rooms are also wonderful with a direct view of the national park; we saw multiple animals including Elephants and Zebras from the room alone. However, considering the price of the place, the restaurant and overall service was quite underwhelming. Food takes a long time to arrive and, unfortunately, it was often incorrect orders. It took us multiple calls to reception to get a few things sorted in the rooms which were not working. It was the only place in our holiday in Tanzania were we thought the staff wasn’t the friendliest and looked quite annoyed at our requests. As mentioned, it’s a great property overall but service definitely needs some work considering their prices.

My family and I stayed at this property as the last stop in a long group tour consisting of 4 different lodges. We had an absolute blast here, from game drives to afternoons/evenings in the pool to dinner times. Everything here is top notch. We were here three nights and did game drives everyday. The wildlife viewing was just amazing. We saw lions, leopards, cheetahs & elephants just to name a few. On our last day we were even able to drive out to catch The Great Migration, 250,000 Wildebeest and Zebras, just mind blowing. The park was amazing and we were staying right in the thick of things. The actual property was just amazing. The rooms were clean, nicely appointed and had great views. The pool was fantastic, a little chilly but nice and refreshing after a long day in the Land Cruiser. The restaurant was great and the food was very good. The staff made the huge difference, they were so great. No request was too much to ask for. My son is a very picky eater and they made things for him every day to make sure he was eating. Can’t thank them enough. Overall a great time, tremendous staff and a breathtaking park. Thank you, for making our trip so special.

This was easily the most beautiful place we've ever stayed, and the service was fantastic - it was almost too nice to leave for our game drives! While it's quite a ways from the gate of the park to the lodge (our drive was about 3 hours), it is worth every bit. We arrived at the lodge on Christmas day for our safari, and instantly felt at home, as they had wonderful decorations all around and a special menu just for the holiday. Chacha took such great care of us at the restaurant for every meal, and even the daily packed lunches were elaborate and tasty. We ended up skipping one afternoon's drive to stay around for much needed massages and exercise (the view from the treadmill is really quite something), and were very happy we did. We found the pool to be less relaxing than imagined, as some rowdy children played a loud game there for multiple hours each day, but that was not on Meliá. I ended up making multiple trips to the gift shop to buy souvenirs as they have such a large assortment. We'll never forget coming here, and we hope to return one day with our family. Asante sana, Meliá!

If you are looking for an stress-free and luxurious way to truly escape & experience the ‘Endless Plains’ of the Serengeti, The Meliá Lodge is THE place to stay. Exceptional staff, facilities, with luxurious accommodations and adventures of a lifetime. Highly recommend working with manager’s, Rocio & Fernando to create a custom itinerary during your stay. They flawlessly scheduled private transportation, multiple game drives, a day-trip to Ngorongoro Crater, a balloon safari, amongst other requests over our four day stay. They are an absolute pleasure to work with, and will take ALL the stress of planning your trip to the Serengeti off your hands. Safari Pro Tip: Ask for Hasan. One of the best guides we’ve had anywhere in the world. His experience, passion, and knowledge will make a lasting impression on you and your family. He is a gentleman and we feel very fortunate to have had him with us over the course of our stay! The entire Meliá staff is friendly, respectful, and over-the-top hospitable. We were blown away with the service and how they catered any request to our linking - truly like nothing else we’ve experienced anywhere in the world. We can’t say enough about our experience. Thank you to the Meliá team for an unforgettable trip to the Serengeti!

Home for lions, leopards, elephants, hippos, buffalo, rhino, giraffes, wildebeests, zebras, hyenas, gazelles, cheetahs, oxpeckers, terrapins, tortoise, secretary birds, buzzards, alligators. The Serengeti National Park is greater than 11,500 square miles. our guide introduced us to all animals. His 13 years of Serengeti experience has cemented his knowledge of the animal instincts, their habits and sometimes their thoughts. The immense green color of the plain spotted irregularly by African umbrella trees provides a hint of shade. Billowing, bright clouds were unlike anything we’ve witnessed. We observed lions’ prides, cheetahs and their offspring, Zebra newborns, infant lions, basking hippos, stalking alligators, elephant neonates, African birds of prey, oxpeckers, and a wake of buzzards lunching on a carcass. We became part of their lives, yet we were secure in the protection of open-air vehicles. At one location we straddled the boundary of Kenya and Tanzania. Another memory was meeting 3 baby lions shortly after their birth.

Great luxury hotel in a beautiful area in Serengeti. Rooms are large and extremely well fit with all technical and practical requirements plus a beautiful terrace to enjoy the view. The hotel has a great pool area and restaurant veranda. Food is extremely good for the logistics issues related to the remote area, as well as their great drinks. On top they have integrated the local community in daily activities for kids, etc. in combination with the new Melia at Ngorongoro this offers an ideal pack to visit both areas enjoying supreme quality. Game drives were extraordinary with the driver John who even spotted chittaas and leopards showing his skills in local wildlife. Manager Rocio also extremely supportive for any request you gave and chef Fernando was setting up creative menus. A place I would highly recommend and come back to visit this incredible place on earth

An absolutely beautiful property with modern accommodations and amenities. The food was delicious and plentiful, with a different theme every night. Loved that there was a small gift shop on site, along with several local artist displays to browse as we didn't have too many opportunities to shop for souvenirs. Customer service was good and what I would consider standard for a lodge of this size but did not match what we experienced at smaller, boutique style lodges on our trip. My only frustration would be we were charged for tap water with dinner even though we had the all-inclusive package, it was very odd. This only happened once during our stay, leading us to believe this was not policy but the actions of the particular waiter we had that evening who wanted an excuse to bring us a "bill" to encourage us to leave a tip. We questioned her but she stood firm. We spoke with the front desk who said they would take care of it but when it was time to check out it was still on our bill which was disappointing. Aside from that, we had a great time. It was an unforgettable trip to the Serengeti that we will always cherish!
