The Westin Bund Center Shanghai

Great hotel. The room was comfortable and the facilities were smart. The breakfast was delicious. However, only one waitress seemed to be on duty. tables didn't get cleaned in a timely manner.

The staff at the entrance, lobby, and reception were among the best and the kindest I have ever encountered. At both check-in and especially after check-out, if I recall nothing else from this trip, I will always remember the kindness and excessive patience and professionalism displayed towards me and my two friends, one of whom is the curious type and had many questions. It may seem minor or "expected," but for me, staying in a hotel like this for the first time to pamper myself a bit, even though I am definitely not among the usual clientele, meant everything. I really wish I had remembered to get their names. After checking out, a young man patiently helped me contact my Didi driver who had difficulty finding me and guided him to my location. I'm not certain, but I think he also helped to guide him out again. Another gentleman came over briefly to explain in English what was being discussed and to reassure me. Just, the thoughtfulness was amazing. The room itself was clean, there were no odd smells, and the view was great, especially at night. The pictures don't really do it justice as my phone and picture taking skills aren't the best. I would definitely consider another stay and advise others to stay as well.
