Local ingredients are the focus of the food served here, in such a beautiful and remote setting. Just stunning. Will definitely return.

A really enjoyable overnight stay during a cold January week was just what was needed to raise our spirits in this lovely location. Our room (2) was very cosy and just across from the Inn. We had a great welcome and were well looked after during our drinks and meal in the bar and restaurant in the evening. The ox cheek pie was delicious washed down with some good Bowland Brewery ales! We will return!

Lovely pub in a beautiful village. We stayed in what used to be the post office next the pub. Comfortable room with a nice big bathroom. Food was good too!

We were out for a drive and this pub caught our eye so we decided to stop for a drink as it was really hot weather. We got chatting to an older couple at the next table outside who said their food was delicious, so decided to stay and order for lunch. We were so glade we did. We were shown to a lovely table even though we hadn’t book. The food was delicious and service was excellent, the young lady behind the bar was really lovely and informative about the history of the pup etc. We will definitely be back.

This pub has two profiles I suggest before eating here you read both sets of reviews ! We ate here today and it was horrific! Burnt deep fried Korean chicken - I don’t think anyone could eat. Ceaser salad covered in anchovies and oil. Unpleasant staff who even when we complained about the inedible food didn’t offer any refund only that they were sorry. We actually noted that we had been overcharged and they said they would refund onto our card but ended up actually charging us again for more chips , then they said they would do a double chip refund and even gave us a receipt but that didn’t appear in our account even 5 hours later despite the manager saying it was probably just a delay in the refund being made? We were disgusted with the service , the food was horrific and the discourteous manner in which we were treated and the u paid refund! We will be asking our bank to investigate and also trading standards . You eat here at your peril ! We won’t be returning ever!

We recently stayed over for a rare child and work free evening, on DBB deal. Everything about our stay from beginning to end was fantastic. We chose Room 9 for the views, which were stunning. Our food in the evening was delicious (I had Ox Cheek - can recommend!) and the service throughout was excellent. Such a lovely, relaxing setting, and just what we needed. We shall definately return.

The Assheton Arms is a very lovely place to stay! We had rooms 11 and 12. And although not next to each other, they were both very comfortable. Room 11 has a spacious bathroom and shower, and Room 12 has a sofa and chairs downstairs, two bedrooms upstairs and one small bathroom. Everything was clean and fresh and we were very happy with the rooms. Breakfast each morning was hot and tasty. Dinner was especially delicious. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. We look forward to a return visit.
