This is the best hotel experience I have had in my life. The hotel itself is lovely, spacious and impeccably clean. But the staff, particularly, Maya, Steven and Simon make it above and beyond!!! We stayed in the apartments around the corner and there was a need for more blankets in the middle of the night. I believe someone was awoken and drove them over to us which was very appreciated. Then the next day, we checked out but had a full day in Split. They put our luggage in an empty room and let us use that room for the rest of the day. That is unheard of at any other hotel I have stayed in, but was very helpful, for changing and getting ready to leave. I will add there was no extra charge for this but we basically had the use of a room after check out. Then, at the end of our time, as we were waiting for Simon to drive us to the airport (which was pre-arranged by our travel agent), my passport fell out of my bag and down the side of the bench I was sitting on as I was having a lovely conversation with Maya. I did not realize anything about the lost passport until after Simon let us go at the airport. Needless to say, I was in a panic when I could not find it. I called our travel agent, who contacted the hotel and it was found (probably by Maya) on the side of the bench. Simon, who had just returned from the airport, got back in the van and drove back to the airport to return it to me so I could get on our plane. That helped us avoid a near travel disaster. I can only say thank goodness we were at Hotel Marul and not a large chain hotel- the service would not have been the same. Maya and Simon went above and beyond multiple times in just our short 24 hour stay. It goes without saying, I highly recommend Hotel Marul to anyone going to Split. The location was perfect - we were so close to everything and it's such a marvelous city. Hotel Marul was a big part of our experience in Split and Croatia. Their kindness will stay in my heart forever.

Comfortable hotel with good-size rooms in an amazing location. Beds were firm and comfortable. Everything was super-clean and well-maintained. There is a beautiful garden with restaurant and bar; breakfast (included) was decent but not fantastic (though the eggs were superfresh and well cooked). The hotel is in a perfect location -- you can get really close in a car so you dont have to drag your bags far, but it is right in the heart of downtown, a 3 minute walk to the walls of the Diocletian Palace and within the pedestrian area. Staff were very friendly. Highly recommend.

Excellent location, but be prepared for parking to be a challenge. Parking is compensated by the hotel, if you can find a spot in the designated lot. Staff are very friendly. At check in your offered a map and given a briefing on where the high-lights of the area are located. The room was very clean. Bed was firm, pillows too thick. Our bathroom had a nice counter where you had plenty of room to unpack your items. Room was quiet, mini fridge with 2 bottles of water, plastic tea kettle available. Breakfast was nice. You could sit inside or outdoors in a lovely garden area, the sliced cantaloupe was spectacular. They had fresh grilled vegetables, bacon, yogurt,cheeses, pastries, medium boiled eggs, coffee was very good. There was a squeeze bottle mounted to the wall to use as your hand soap, my preference is a soap bar...the squeeze bottle is not easy to use. And others with dirty hands used it before you. Yuck. There was a small place to put your soap bar in the shower but not a shelf for your shampoo or other items. I truly do not like placing my items on a shower floor. Considering my few pet peeves this is an excellent location and I would absolutely stay here again.

The staff at the hotel were fantastic starting with the driver and reception. They made one feel welcome like home. The restaurant staff were equally great. We could not have asked for a better stay in split. The accommodations were spacious and comfortable.

Lovely little hotel. All the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Lovely big shower and a cute balcony. Had dinner in the hotel restaurant twice and both times the meals were excellent. The waiter was brilliant and went out of his way to make sure everything was fine for us. We booked transfers and a day trip with the hotel. The driver Simon was excellent. Very informative with a real passion for his country. Very punctual and really looked after us. Great location. Would highly recommend.

Nice room near Palace. Very walkable. Had room for family and pool out bed was comfortable. Reception was very helpful. Would stay again.

Excellent centrally located boutique hotel. We stayed in the family room which accommodated 5 of us at the top of the hotel and was extremely comfortable. Lovely staff and delicious buffet breakfast with homemade eggs on request. Highly recommend!

I can't begin to tell you what an amazing experience I had at this boutique hotel. Mile and Maya both work at the reception desk. They were so helpful, kind and professional. I was only here for 3 nights and they made sure I went to the most important places and helped me with directions since that isn't something I am very good at. My room was large and the air conditioning was very strong. Given how hot it is here right now, this was very appreciated. The water pressure and shower head was excellent. For me. This is something very important when I am traveling. Every staff member was willing to help with anything. The breakfast in the morning was great and they made eggs in any way I wanted and provided one specialty coffee like lattes at no additional charge. I travel quite a bit for work and personally. This was a wonderful experience that I would recommend to anyone. I will definitely stay here when I return to Split. The location is just far enough away from the center that it is quiet but close enough to be able to walk to everywhere. There is a church near the hotel and each night there was a concert outside. Where are there other parts that you think you can grow a lot more.

was left with a feeling of being ripped off after our three-night stay at Hotel Marul. As a family of four, we were crammed in what was the size of a double room and charged 380 euros a night for the privilege. The room was taken up with the double bed and the sofa bed and there was no room to put our luggage. It was so cramped. We were the room directly behind the reception. The air conditioning unit gurgled loudly all night keeping us awake. Breakfast was OK. The staff didn’t let us know we could order speciality coffees and omelettes. We only realised when we saw another group of guests doing it. The only positive was the location, it really is in the heart of Split and garden setting for breakfast was a mini oasis. But overall, I would not recommend staying here given the price.

We stayed 2 nights here and loved it. Arrived quite late at night which is slightly inauspicious as the taxi has to drop you at the end of a small street and someone from the hotel walks down to help with the luggage and then you use the back door. But next morning we saw how lovely the hotel is, a great terrace for breakfast around a small garden, and a brilliant location only 5 minutes walk from the old town but feeling very peaceful and secluded. Rooms were very comfortable with good air con and everything we needed. Would definitely stay there again.

We had our Welcome Drinks for the night before our wedding in their restaurant and garden area. I could not have been more impressed with absolutely everything from them. The food was exquisite, the drinks great value, their service and support amazing. The garden area is a stunning location. We couldn’t have been more happy with all the help they gave us and the night they laid on. Our guests were all blown away and we had an absolutely fabulous time. I can only give them massive praise. Tricky to find but lovely hotel, right near street food and nightclubs. We arrived late but we're made very welcome by staff. Room was great and very comfortable.
