This trip was so nice. The hotel really was nice for a last minute choice hotel. I'm glad we found this hidden gem!

The location of this hotel is good, right next to Aldis’s, Meijer and near the highway. The amenities were not good, 3 out of 4 of the workout machines were out of order. The breakfast was fair. The worst part was our room was super humid, musty and we had to turn the AC down to 68 degrees just so we could breathe in our room. We asked for another room but they were booked. We also lost water for a few hours due to an issue with the city water. I would not recommend this hotel if you have allergies or respiratory issues or if you want a decent breakfast but at least there’s a microwave and grocery stores nearby.

I wish I had read reviews before I booked a room at this property for an entire week! First room was smelly and dirty. I asked to be moved. Second room had debris in the drawers and dirty mirrors, no luggage rack, coffee maker, blow dryer, or light bulbs in lamps. When room was finally "cleaned" on day 4, bathroom wasn't restocked so I had no shampoo/conditioner; hand towels, or bath mat. As a Hilton Honors Diamond member, I have stayed at a lot of Hamptons and this one does not meet Hilton standards. Clearly training and management issues abound. Be warned; don't waste your money or points!

Hampton Inn St Joseph is definitely a place to avoid. Very dated, but it is generally clean. But, TV is so dark it’s hard to see it. I can overlook mechanical issues, but not being blown off. I called the front desk and was first advised it wasn’t the tv, it was the hotel lighting(over the phone diagnosis). When I stated it was in fact the tv, I was advised that they can’t help me. Maybe they assumed I brought my own tv….

There was food, trash, and linens were in the hallway upon late arrival. The carpet in the room felt tacky on our feet. There were Small red bumps on legs the next morning. We will not stay here the next time. There are other choices. Front desk staff were nice but housekeeping was a miss.

There is very little at this hotel that resembles a normal Hampton Inn. The hallways were dark and sketchy. The room had numerous broken items, including missing light bulbs, upside down lampshade, broken bathroom sink, and entry door. Both beds in the room did not fit on the bed frames and made noises.

Beware! Not your typical Hampton Inn. This place is filthy and nothing is in working order. Felt very unsafe. We didnt stay, asked for a refund and scrambled for another hotel that night. Thankfully the Holiday Inn Express in St Jo was able to squeeze us in and was a lovely place. Stay there, the staff and hotel were excellent!

The best thing about this hotel was the 2nd shift employee Ty. He went above and beyond to make up for the terrible condition of this property. The hotel is about ten years overdue for renovation. No working pool, no air conditioning and we found dirty undergarments in our room at check in. To say the ownership has given up on this property is an understatement. The safety issues are the worst problem next to feeling like you’re inside a sauna the moment you step out of your room. There is no air conditioning in any of the public access points outside of the room. Exterior doors are left open 24/7 allowing anyone access to the hotel any time. Many rooms have safety latches not working. This hotel is a crime scene waiting to happen. Don’t drink the coffee in the lobby unless you enjoy drinking coffee grinds. Don’t expect to see inside the bathroom. Bring your own lantern to light it. I’m wondering if they keep it so dark so that guests can’t see how dirty the bathroom is.

I have stayed in numerous Hilton properties all over the country and Hampton Inn has been a consistent go-to. My two-night stay at this Hampton Inn was very disappointing and below the quality that I’ve come to expect from Hampton Inns. I will never stay at this H.I. again. 1) Safety latch on door was broken. 2) Bathroom had limited lighting (you’re basically showering in the lowest light imaginable as a result). 3) Tiles in entryway and bathroom had mysterious spots of unknown origin. Kinda looked like coffee and blood. (I cleaned them with Clorox wipes.) 4) Shower had not been cleaned - hair and dirt were present. 5) No hand towels or bath mat. 6) No USB ports. 7) Dark hallways, which were kind of creepy. 8) Person or persons who had stayed before us smoked in the room. There were ashes on sofa/loveseat and the room smelled. I went to the Meijer across street to buy Fabreeze. 9) Bathroom door has hole in the back.
