Enjoyed a nice family meal here by the harbour on Tuesday night. Guy serving was nice and friendly and very relaxed. Fish was healthy and nice and fresh. Gingerbread brownie and biscoff cheesecake were very good. Nice food for children too.

Lovely hotel, great for a weekend getaway. Beautiful views over Stonehaven Harbour. Very friendly and professional staff. Excellent breakfast (a lovely selection of pastries, meat, cheese, fruit, yoghurt and so on, plus coffee or tea). Staying at the hotel is also great because of the phenomenal pub on the ground floor, and restaurant on the 1st floor, though you can also order the food in the pub. I've eaten at the restaurant more than once, and always had a great meal. Highly recommended.

My friend and I were just wanting a light lunch, so chose a smoked salmon salad with some chips on the side....thank goodness for the chips as the portion we received was no more than a starter size! For £12 we got a bowl with some mixed leaves, capers and a small amount of smoked salmon plonked on top! With a balsamic dressing Not even a tomato! Wish I had taken a photo. I have eaten in The Marine on a couple of occasions but i have been left very disappointed this time. I would say the service was fine though

Beautiful location on the shore. We stayed here 2 nights on a Friday and Saturday night. Very modern room, huge bathtub, shower combination, and single faucet sink. I had a view of both the shore side and the city side. Comfortable bed and pillows. Nice amenities in the room, however the wall-mounted soap dispenser was for shower use not low enough for bathtub use; hairdryer in the room. Unfortunately at the time of our stay they were working on the harbor, so we woke up to a pounding jackhammer at 7:30 every morning. But since I wake up early anyway it wasn’t a real problem. They were also working on the hotel next-door, which was completely covered in scaffolding. There is free street parking in front of the hotel. But there are limited spaces and the local pubs are very popular so the spaces filled up fast. We had a top floor so there were quite a few stairs to go up, but the host assisted us with the luggage. there was a continental breakfast offered but we did not partake. Only negative about the room was the heat didn’t work the first night but they fixed it by the second. The pub on the first floor is very popular and there’s a restaurant on the second floor. We ate in the pub which has the same menu as the restaurant and the food was good. It’s about a 2 mile walk coastal to Dunnatar castle, which we enjoyed very much even though it is uphill a bit and quite a few stairs. Also a lovely Seawalk stroll in the other direction towards the town. This would be a great weekend getaway for locals. Good for the price.Very dog friendly🐾💕

Spent three nights in this charming hotel by the harbor. Room was very comfortable, food was excellent, and the view of the harbor was perfect. I was on the fourth floor, at the end of the hall in a room called "Lucifer". It was a touch warm in there. Coincidence? ;) Seriously though, the room was great. And the food! The salmon skink is in the appetizer section of the menu, but it's a meal in itself. So good, I still tell my friends about it! The staff is great too. Very nice even though it was quite busy. The location is excellent for views, hiking to Dunnottar Castle, or walking to the shops. I only visited the pub once, but it looked very nice and was full of locals and tourists alike. Looking forward to my next visit!

Was looking forward to our visit to Marine Hotel. Had booked a table for Father’s Day for 12:30. Wasn’t that busy when we arrived. We got our drinks order quite quickly which was good. However slightly longer in taking food order, then even longer getting food! starter served , they were ok, duck & orange salad had no dressing. mains weren’t served till after 2pm. All the tables around us had been waiting along time too. No apologies for late food or no update as to why it took so long, hard to get staff attention. Brother not offered vinegar or sauces for his fish & chips, overall average experience. Probably wouldn’t rush back .

Great bar but the rudeness of the bar staff ruined our visit! He wasn’t even rude to us but everyone he encountered, also his own team members, set a very low tone from the minute we walked in! Shame!

First impressions of this hotel were not encouraging; arriving as I did during a football match which was being vigorously supported. Finding it was easy, parking was fortuitous as there happened to be someone leaving as I rolled along the harbour. There are plenty of spaces along the harbour front but given the fact the harbour is very popular it does seem to be full most of the time. Check in was ok although the policy appears to require card number and CCV number written on the same form which was too risky for my liking but prepayment should have resolved that issue. My room was delightful. Spacious and well appointed although some plugs near the bed would have been nice. The view was beautiful and the bathroom well appointed. No air conditioning but with a window overlooking the harbour I could open wide and look out of I certainly wasn’t complaining. The noise from the football lasted only as long as the match and the rest of the night was peaceful. Easy access out of hours with a door from the back alleyway. I didn’t partake in breakfast so cannot comment although the breakfast set up in the restaurant looked appealing. All of the staff I encountered were all very pleasant. Would happily stay here again in future.
