It is a small single-family house, surrounded by beautiful snow.
The facilities in the room are very complete, but the smell of cooking fumes is a bit strong.
The strong wind at night can make it very noisy, which is a bit lacking.

The location of this hotel is very remote. Although there are kitchen utensils, they are inconvenient to use. The most unbearable thing is that the water from the shower will soon flood the entire bathroom and needs to be treated with a paddle. Obviously the boss is aware of this problem and has prepared tools to deal with it. . The sink is too small to fit anything and has no partitions, making it particularly inconvenient for women. Finally, the smell of someone else's hair oil on the pillow must be because the bedding was not changed. This was the worst room of my trip to Iceland.

The property was in many ways as descried away from everything, that said we had not TV or way to play music and a very small limited kitchen area.

Can I say perfect? Yes! Sometimes we find unicorns. This place had all we needed for our trip. Secluded, quiet, great view & everything you need in a small cottage/rental. Bring your groceries, not a lot of restaurants in the area. The kitchenette saved us too👍

If you’re looking for a self-service glamping style experience this is the place! It’s quiet and serene, we even saw the northern lights with a long exposure camera. Just enough space for two people and you are provided kitchen essentials including coffee, tea, and a hot plate. Any of the poor reviews I’ve read have mostly been because those people were expecting a concierge hotel experience and this is not it. Yes, you need to push the water after a shower into the drain but it’s minimal and takes 30 seconds tops. Yes, you have to wait for the water heater to reset to take piping hot showers for two people but this is an area with limited resources so easy to deal with. My only suggestions for the hosts are to provide an extra pillow since they were flimsy and maybe some napkins. However it’s easy to grab cheap napkins at the store up the street. Overall a very good experience.

We chose this property because of the views ( kirkjufell and ocean ) it offered. It is off of a gravel road ( short distance). There are a few cottages on this property, which gives privacy and offers unique cottage living experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay. Note: We reached here during a rainy evening with a limited visibility, but Google maps came through for us when the Wi-Fi hotspot and even the car gps did not.
Advice to tourists is to download google maps offline, search your location/route when the internet is available and save it for later use. I have now more respect for google maps than before!

Loved the stay. In a remote place right in the middle of nature.
Has great views all around and easy to find. It was extremely windy ＞20mph when we were there and it felt like the door would fly but it was strong. The wind noise can be a little intimidating but the cottage was strong and overall we enjoyed the stay,
