Went to the Burgoyne for an evening meal... interesting. Firstly the decor is something else and will not be to everyone's taste. It is pretty brash and not very well co-ordinated. Dodo lampstands, metal snake side tables, huge peaock pictures - coupled with rather tired and distressed occasional tables. OK, so it's nice to have some low-level background music sometimes but this was 1980's rock - and it all just felt a bit out of place - and was a bit too loud. The food was pretty good. I had the lamb and my partner had a the cod. Both were cooked well and tasted nice. Where the evening took a distinct downturn was in asking to use the customer toilet. I'm not kidding when I say that we were shown to the 'staff toilet' ( the same for men and women) - a tiny, run-down room half way up the stairs. It was grubby with stained silicon around the basin. This was truly a bottom of the range 'pub' toilet and for a supposed 4-star hotel was completely unacceptable. Sort it out

Had an amazing stay at the Burgoyne in Reeth. The Ivelet room had the most spectacular view over the whole village. Even though we only decided to eat at the last minute the food was delicious and the staff could not have been more welcoming and really make the place. Looking forward to visiting again soon and hopefully the weather will be as kind to us as the staff were.

The good - great building (from the outside), good location and very nice friendly staff. But as other posts have written the decor inside is hard on the eyes - leopard print carpet, black curtains, snakey lights, overly flowery wall paper. Room was ok but had 2 dvd players for some reason! Lack of attention to detail as there were coffee drips down the wall. The front garden could be really nice but contained a load of mismatched furniture that looked like it had been rescued from a recycling centre and spread around the lawn. In our visit we were also lucky to have 2 old radiators propped up against one of the chairs. Dinner was ok - but like the hotel hard on the wallet. It’s charging premium prices and trying to be something that it’s not.

What a brilliant hotel and staff. One of the best experienced ever had as a hotelier myself. Simon the GM personally greated and show around. Jorgia and courtney was excellent looking after the evening meal. Well done to the excellent team!

This hotel must have one of the most beautiful views of any hotel in the north of England, all the windows look out across the village of Reeth and the wonderful penine hills. It is perfectly situated for access to many walks including the penine way and coast to coast. The room was warm comfortable and spacious with a huge bed and en-suite bathroom. The staff were pleasant, friendly and helpful. We had an evening meal in their restaurant, the food was excellent as was the breakfast the following morning. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and will definitely be returning.

Never reviewed before, used to dine to the restaurant, loved the welcoming ambience but the designer of the new decor in the hotel has altered it beyond all recognition, not for the better unfortunately.

On arrival for our 4 day stay we were instantly disappointed by the very odd decor and the strong smell of cooking. We parked and came through the sad looking rear entrance onto a bizarre leopard print carpet with bright wallpaper which to me was complete sensory overload. We were greeted by a very friendly young man who showed us our rooms. It was only after he had gone that we couldn’t find our bathroom. When asked he explained that it was across the corridor. I have only ever experienced this when staying in a youth hostel, not an expensive hotel. So I wouldn’t recommend booking the room Keld. However the views are absolutely stunning across the green and the hills all around. My favourite thing is to sit in the window seat and look out watching the world go by. Not sure I would recommend staying here at the prices that are charged when there are many other local places to stay. It was odd that none of the bedrooms had the names on them, especially on first arrival navigating where the bathroom is across the hall, there are a lot to keys to manage too! We found the staff were kind, very helpful and friendly. The breakfast offered a good selection, and was cooked beautifully every morning. We have really enjoyed our four days here.

Hotel looks tired and scruffy outside. Especially from back car park entrance. Met with strong unpleasant cooking smells on arrival .. was not very appealing. Inside the newly refurbished decor is brash tacky and tasteless. Dodos, snakes 🐍 and black curtains. Our room had no en suite so going to the loo in the night meant just praying 🙏 you weren't meeting anyone in the awful leopard print carpeted hall way. Staff were however helpful and friendly. Breakfast was lovely good selection and delicious 😋 Felt over priced for the not so luxury experience. The location on the green is central and looking at the views was lovely.

This is the second time we have visited this fantastic hotel and again we were not disappointed. The hotel has been partly refurbished, however, we stayed in a room that had not yet been refurbished, but the room was still fabulous with probably one of the best views in North Yorkshire! The bathroom was bigger than some rooms we have stayed in! We ate in the restaurant the food was lovely and the chef Josh was very accommodating and mixed and matched the menus. Breakfast was also fantastic, and they provided a sausage for our dog Trixie. The staff were fantastic and couldn't do enough for us. A special metion for Courtney and General Manager Simon. We have booked another 2 nights in May, this time in one of the fantastic newly refurbished rooms.
