From the welcoming hosts, to the fantastic breakfast, this beautifully decorated and maintained hotel is now the only ace we will stay in Torbay. Just a short walk to the harbour, the location is great! Elaine and Martyn couldn't do enough for us.

This "quirky" boutique hotel was an amazing find. Not only were the owners, Martin and Elaine, very welcoming but they have also turned their hotel into a remarkable and interesting place to stay. With themed bedrooms and so many "knick nacks" adorning the common areas there was just so much to catch the eye. Whilst not serving evening meals their breakfast was exceptionally good. Definitely somewhere I will be looking to stay at again.

When we go anywhere we like to try and stay in somewhere a bit more unusual and we loved this place. Lots of gorgeous rooms and decor throughout. The hosts were so friendly and happy to chat about the house and pass on local knowledge. Very quiet as not near the hustle and bustle but only a five minute walk to the high street. We booked the Moroccan suite and we were not disappointed ❤️ Fab breakfast the next day too. We would be happy to return and recommend it to everyone ☺️

Excellent hotel close to town centre but relaxed and quiet location, rooms well equipped and comfy beds proprietor is very friendly and knowledgeable of area and nothing is too much trouble for them to assist you with, breakfast area equipped with food for all tastes and diets overhaul great choice to stay.

Stayed there for one night with my brother en route to Penzance. The most beautiful place I have stayed, just stunning. Had a slight medical emergency and Martyn and Elaine were so kind and helpful. Had the most gorgeous breakfast as well. Highly recommend.

Cannot fault this b&b. Fabulous hosts, gorgeous rooms, very comfy beds and excellent breakfasts, we stayed in the 2 bedroom penthouse suite. It was very spacious with a good size, comfortable sitting room. Would definitely recommend 😊

Martyn and Elaine are fabulous hosts with a wonderfully unique (the hint is in the name!) hotel. We had three rooms, each with their own unique layouts and large comfortable beds. They gave great information and advice for our potential days out and even surprised me with a card and bottle of fizz as it was my birthday week away with the family. Just a wonderful bit of 'icing on the cake'. Thank you Martyn and Elaine for a lovely stay, a lovely surprise and wonderful breakfasts!

Great hosts - we were welcomed with tea/coffee and homemade cake which was delicious! Beautifully decorated with many interesting ornaments and pictures. Breakfast was cooked to perfection with a wide choice including fresh fruit salad. We would definitely stay again.

A great stay at The Hillcroft. Elaine and Martyn were warm and welcoming hosts. We were offered a complimentary drink on arrival and shown to our room, which was clean and extremely comfortable. The Hillcroft is uniquely decorated, with lots of interesting and quirky features. The breakfast was delicious and the service and attention to detail superb. We will definitely be returning.
