I wouldn't know how to describe this oasis of peace, located on the magical hills of the Val d'Orcia with a wonderful view of Montepulciano. A place where you can be good, relax and enjoy everything that people and products of the territory can give. Yeah, because Mars' sympathy and kindness make you good and make you feel comfortable. The rest is made by the room, very nice and with a very comfortable bed (this may be the same quality for the coats) and a spacious breakfast! All at no mile, wonderful bread, affected by the place and so many typical sweets really sensational (I can't forget the crostaceous of the cotton apple and the cantuccis, fantastic)! I count more than honestly, I can only advise you this structure if you stop in the area, you will not regret it.

We had our wedding here from 30th June - 1st July. We booked the venue more than 2.5 years in advance and worked with Antonella throughout the entire process. She was amazing to work with and highly recommend having a wedding at the borgo! We rented out the entire property exclusively for ourselves & guests for the weekend. The grounds are so beautiful with views from the entire borgo. The rooms are also very nice with a rustic Tuscan feel. Antonella and the entire Borgo staff worked with us to make our wedding weekend perfect. Last minute, we had to change the dinner location due to rain, and the staff was quick to rearrange all of the tables to inside. I had guests coming up to me saying this was the best wedding they had ever been to. We will be returning to the Borgo for our anniversary!

We visited Montepulciano for the wine and then looked for somewhere to stay. This place seemed to fit the bill, about 15 minutes away with lots of 4* hotels at low prices. How lucky we were. The town is the strangest place. This town has has about 50 hotels but only 10 open, the rest boarded-up, unloved or simply abandoned with ****s growing out of roofs, carparks etc. It's an industrial archaeolgists paradise and gives a foretaste of how nature reclaims civilisation. It turns out that, about 20 years ago, 2000 visitors per day flocked to the Thermal Spas for 'wellness' and health trips. Those hoards of trippers have dropped to a dribble. It is the place that time forgot. Taking pot luck, we chose the Excelsior, which looked like the most imposing hotel on the Main Drag. The hotel is faded glory. Simple rooms with high ceilings. Nice views from large windows. The bed was very firm. The bathroom was clean. Describing the rooftop pool and sun-terrace as 'fabulous' would be going way too far. A simple buffet breakfast was included. The hotel is 2-3 stars. It was plain & comfortable - and the management deserve a Gold Star for keeping it going as the town dies around them. Being about 25 miles from the Tuscany hot-spot of Sienna helps them I suppose. If it wasn't for a coach party from Devon, we'd have been just about the only people there in the last week of July. No wonder the chambermaid couldn't wait to get into our room from 0800. Grrrr. We stayed on a Friday night, about 200 metres from the open air 'Club Forti'. Eventually the music stopped at 2am. Which spoiled it a bit. Ideal for an overnight stop - ten minutes off the main A1 Autostrada. And you can tell your friends that you've seen what Harrogate could be like in 20 years if Bettys Tea Shop closes.

Sono stata con 3 amiche per una piccola fuga pre pasquale. Hotel molto carino arredamento un po retro ma molto ben tenuto, personale super accogliente. Camere molto pulite e letti comodissimi. (Un plauso particolare all'attenzione nella scelta della biancheria) anche il servizio ristorante non ci ha deluse, ambiente molto accogliente e familiare. Cucina tipica toscana, ampia scelta di piatti anche per chi aveva la mezza pensione come noi. Ritorneremo sicuramente.

We really enjoyed our four days here. The welcome was friendly - though we had to wait for the room to be ready. The room was large (very large for an Italian hotel), well-furnished and comfortable overlooking the garden and breakfast gazebo. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom good. It was a very hot few days - we went out each morning to nearby towns of interest - Monticchiello, Pienza, Montepulciano, Città delle Pieve, Panicale ... and came back to the hotel after lunch. At 4.00 we went to the pool - which was large, clean and well set up, pettily sited in the garden with Tuscan hills as a backdrop. We had booked half-board, so had breakfast and dinner at the hotel (in the Taverna, where the food and service was very good). Really a great break.

Well-kept hotel in a very quiet area, Mrs. Sandra very kind, definitely a comfortable place close to everything. The structure also has a very convenient car park for unloading and loading luggage.

Very central hotel, a stone's throw from the thermal baths of Montepulciano, parking on the street, in front of the entrance, lift for those with heavy suitcases, with the family management of a very close-knit ”hotel team”, exceptional welcome and all staff very friendly at all levels, Free and fast WiFi, large, bright, quiet, very clean room, new furniture, new and modern bathroom, new air conditioning, very efficient and silent, we recommend dinner in the own restaurant with a pre-choice of 3-4 local specialities, perfectly cooked, impeccable presentation of dishes, very good wine from own production, and a large choice of homemade desserts for the breakfast Unbeatable value for money - there are not enough stars for the rating! The maximum rating seen on the internet is true and absolutely confirmed. For sure, we will come back with the first chance, with friends and recommend the same to everyone. Many thanks to the owners and all the staff!

The concept is to renovate village houses into hotel rooms while providing breakfast and other amenities in another building. The rooms were nice, not great, but I still loved the concept. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served at the ”Palazzo” a few hundred meters away on a semi-covered outdoor patio. Breakfast was excellent but in late September it can feel like camping out. Shivering while sipping your coffee is not quite a luxury experience. We were here on a bike tour. We have toured throughout Europe and many times in Italy. This is the very first hotel I have ever encountered which charges to store bikes in a garage: 5 euros per bike per night. We were there for 6 days. I could understand if we had e-bikes that needed to be plugged into a power source, but ours were just leaned against the wall - for 5 euros each per night. Also be aware that the pool is off limits unless you are staying in the Palazzo. And the nice outdoor patio, you can only use it if you buy drinks from the bar. Lastly the staff at the front desk were thoroughly disagreeable. It was as if they didn't understand that we were the guests and their job was to welcome and assist us, not that we asked for much more than room keys. Having said that, the restaurant staff were gracious, friendly and accommodating. Again, I loved the concept, but the execution needs some work. Would I stay here again? Nope.
