Cherai Beach Residency Reviews

Although it has been a year since we visited we remember with great fondness our wonderful stay with Poly and Jessy at the Cherai Beach residency. We visited in February 2023. They were always so helpful and happy to arrange trips and give us local knowledge. They were always around if you needed help. The pool was superb but the beach drew us every day. The sunbeds were always available and it was only used by the guests so it felt quite private. The sea was warm and calm, and we particularly enjoyed watching the different animals ( birds) and enjoying the sunset every evening. Our rooms were air-conditioned, with a fridge and a balcony facing the beach which was a real treat. Poly found us a driver to take us to different places and activities, and he would be with us all day at our disposal. Their local knowledge was invaluable, if we needed something, they would find it for us. There are a couple of Ayurveda centers at walking distance, and I had the best massages ever! The ladies did a head-to-toe massage by applying different oils and it was amazing. I also had yoga classes and meditation. The locals were so friendly and warm, and loved taking pictures with us! we loved the shopping centre Lulu Mall was fabulous, we only planned to go one day but ended one going three times! We highly recommend Cherai Beach, make sure you book in advance, especially if you are after the premium rooms.

We had a wonderful and memorable experience staying for two nights. The owners Poly & Jessy are very good hosts. The location is great. Had great access to the beach and the kids loved the time spent on the beach. The first night the cook had a day off , the dinner was prepared by the host. The dinner was tasty and just like home cooked. Swimming pool is also well maintained , we had a good time in the pool. The staff are very polite and friendly. Rooms are spacious and very comfortable. Its a great place to relax and unwind from the busy city life. Surely will visit again.

We spent one week here in october 23, and we were hosted by Jessy and Poly in the most wonderful way. We felt like coming home since we have been there 3 times before. The place is clean, the home made food is just great and the close distance to the beach makes the stay here just wonderful👍 We can recommend this place, and we will definitely visit again. The bed was like sleeping on a concrete block is my only criticism. This is a small family run business on a quiet stretch of lovely beach. The sea is calm and safe for all to enjoy. A beautiful and clean place, toilets showers pool and rooms all clean and well maintained. Food is acceptable and service of staff couldn't be more helpful or friendly . Restaurants are a 10 min walk or if raining a 50 rupee tuk tuk. We ate at Waves and lilliputs both were cheap and served great food. Use google maps to walk into cherai thro the back streets and you wont be disappointed. Overall good value for money.

Our accommodation was basic but spotlessly clean. The bathroom not luxurious but good shower pressure. We had a small balcony overlooking the sea with a perfect view of the sunset. All our meals were freshly prepared and wholesome. The pool and gardens were maintained to a high standard- the water very clear. The staff were attentive, friendly and helpful at all times. We hired bikes so we could cycle ***** the coast and around the backwaters behind the property- well worth doing. A lovely place to experience India in a gentle way and not too far from Cochin to enjoy there too.

Scruffy, basic, noisy hotel. Staff very nice & helpful but sadly the hotel didn’t meet expectations , didn’t look like photos . My standard room was supposed to have beach view but didn’t. Seemed to be carrying out renovations. Nothing deluxe about the other rooms. Very Basic

Nice place to stay. Rooms are comfortable, but the food is not great. The owners and staff are very courteous and pleasant. The old rooms seem to be very basic, but the new ones in the new building are quite spacious and comfortable. The new swimming pool looks good too.

It was a horrible experience during our stay at Cherai Beach Residency. We stayed for 1 day in rooms 102 and 213. First, when we reached the hotel, there was no one at the Front desk. There was a worker who was least interested to welcome guests. Upon some inquiry, he confirmed our booking and showed us our rooms. One of the room's AC was not working. The worker tried a long time, then said it takes time before AC starts cooling. We asked for another room. He said no other room was available. Anyway, we somehow managed with FAN. The bad experience did not end there. At night around 8 pm, when we enquired about the restaurant, the owner informed us that Chef left as it was a festival day. We have to order from Swiggy. Again at night, there were voltage fluctuations multiple times. Morning again, when I was taking bath, there was no water in the bathroom, and the water came after 30 mins after multiple follow-ups with workers. The only good part of the hotel is the location as it is next to the beach. Don't expect any service.

We enjoyed our stay here very much. The owners live on site and were very helpful. The sea is across from the hotel and it has a very clean pool. The staff were amazing. I would definitely come back. We were a group of 6 adults and Satish who originally did the booking found an amazing gem to stay

Heavenly stay. My husband and I stayed for 2 nights and kept on asking ourselves why we did not stay at this place before. We booked the deluxe room with ocean view. Great choice as we sat on the balcony listening to the waves. Easy access to beach as other hotels in area do not have easy access. The owners are delightful and all photos posted are accurate. You will not regret staying at this place.

Sleeping to the sound of the waves, watching and being amazed at the play of colour each subset, walking on yhe beautiful, clean beach, eating locally prepared fresh Kerala food, swimming in the warm embrace of the Arabian Sea, walking up for amazing massage at Prakruthi Ayuervedic Spa from Jojo and all with the wonderful welcome of the amazing owners Jessy and Pauly. This is such a gem...you will leave as friends, rejuvenated and start planning for your next visit.

My husband and I really enjoyed our 3 night stay at Cheral Beach Resort, particularly because of the way the hosts Poly and Jessy ***** with the other employees Sameer, Rinku and Prasanna, interact with the guests. They definitely give a new meaning to service with a smile. What is really unique about this place is you are treated like a family member, rather than just a customer/guest. Some highlights were 1) the inventive ways they took to accommodate us when fully booked at the weekend, 2) the willingness of Jessy and Prasanna in making specific dishes from the Kerala cuisine we love (and were NOT on their menu), 3) quick response in fixing any issues we had, and most of all 4) Jessy's humorous personal anecdotes. If you want to enjoy hospitality with a personal touch, this is the place to choose.
