A recent stay at the Faithlegg Hotel meant spending time with an aging damsel in distress. The hotel is fading from any former glory it may have once had and is badly in need of a re-fresh. All the staff, from front desk to bar to restaurant to housekeeping is aloof, un-welcoming, and totally un-accommodating. There is no warmth or appreciation or any genuine interactions at all. The rooms on the ground floor are dark and dingy. And don't expect luggage racks! As the Front Desk informed me, they "don't really do that here" and only a few rooms *may* have them. When asked about leaving my luggage open on the floor and managing dressing that way, I was told to put the suitcase on the bed. When I asked if that meant that I was sleeping under a coverlet on which all other guests have put their dirty suitcases, I was told "yes". I was sickened. And see photos courtesy of the slippery tub/shower. The setting on the golf course is pretty, but it is so far removed from any other towns or activities so plan accordingly to stay put – or better yet, choose other accommodations.
