Treacy’s Hotel Spa & Leisure Club Waterford

So disappointed with our stay at Tracy’s. Room and bathroom need major updating. Shower temperature control didn’t work, so it was extremely hot water, so we couldn’t have a shower. Broken tiles, crack in the bath which was “fixed”with filler, mould behind the bath taps and a well worn bath mat to stand on in the bath, if the shower had worked. Was told it would be “mentioned” to maintenance. Breakfast was a disaster. Permanent residents grabbing everything and filling lunch boxes for kids school lunches, leaving little to nothing for paying guests. No pastries, toast or bread available and certainly no menus on tables. I did eventually get 2 slices of toast, but had to ask a girl clearing tables for it. By the time it came, my bacon was cold and hard and no more available. It was like feeding time at a zoo with children dressed for school, making an awful mess. The “leisure centre” was grim. We didn’t use it as it looked so dirty. The filth on the windows into it was enough, and signs saying jacuzzi was out of order, not to mention the dirty stairwell leading to it. No temperature control in the bedroom. Very cold during the day and extremely hot throughout the night. Also our room looked out on a kind of outside balcony. It was so dirty. Full of ****s, cigarette butts and rubbish. Our windows were also filthy too. Music playing late into the night, which wasn’t ideal as we were in a room above the bar and couldn’t get to sleep. The only thing we had no complaints about was our evening meal. It was very good and the waiter was a polite, helpful young man.

Had a lovely time staying with some friends for a games weekend at the Viking Hotel in Waterford, last weekend. Our room spacious and clean. The brekkie, and evening meals were delicious, and all the staff were super friendly. Big shout out to John Paul who went out of his way to help us out, at the bar, and bringing water out to the group.

We absolutely loved this hotel. Very convenient for the centre. Staff were really helpful and friendly. Breakfast was fantastic. Lovely pub downstairs. My only complaint would be that the room was unbearably hot. We had to have the window open in December to cool it down. Not so good for the environment. Would definitely recommend though and would absolutely book again.

We enjoyed our stay at The Fitzwilton Hotel as the staff was very helpfull and friendly. They give us a welcome gift on arrival and a 5 euro discount per person for bikes to do the Greenway. It was very central and walking distance to everywhere. The bedroom was very clean and comfortable. The food was excellent especially in the bar. Hope to return at another time. Eileen/Jim

Had to go to reception at 3:30am to complain the room next door for noise. A couple were staying there and were having a full on domestic fight at 3:30am which woke me and my uncle with special needs. They could be heard clear as day from our room and the hallway so I don’t know how reception didn’t hear them as we were on the first corridor behind reception. The room above us made noise from 9pm - 3:30am when I complained. Night staff said it was a stag party and they would sort it out. It quitened down a bit but not a lot. Boy racers seem to gather in the McDonalds car park next to the hotel at night and rev their cars loudly. Quality and options at breakfast were only okay. No option for just cereal or fruit etc just fried breakfast. I have stayed at other Travelodge before and found them great and very comfortable. Will not be returning to the Waterford Travelodge in the future. Not value for money and rooms were not very comfortable and extremely warm.
