China Creek Cottages

China Creek Cottages is the place to stay in Willow Creek, California!! We stayed in Cabin #9. The room was so clean. It's like staying in Paradise, if you like the mountains. The property is well kept, which has about 10 Cabins on it. Cabin #8 and 9 are off to themselves. The other Cabins are close to one another. We were very satisfied with our stay, except that we couldn't use the BBQ, that every Cabin has, because it had d burnt caked on food on the grill. Our Cabin had a stove, so we had to cook dinner inside, which was a bummer. These Cabins are about the same price as staying in a Hotel per night, so if you like the mountains, this place is for you!!! And they are very dog friendly!! It's a quick drive to the river and into town.. We will definitely be staying here again in the future!

I stayed here for the week while I was out of town for work. It's a beautiful place. I loved the lights that they have along the road leading up to the cottages. The cottage was very clean and cozy. The kitchenette is perfect especially if you don't want to eat out and like to make your own meals. It was too cold to be out on the deck of the cabin, but it would be great for sitting out during warmer weather. It was very quiet as well. I would definitely stay there again!

Cute cabins, with a fun little stage area. The cabin was comfortable, the radiant heat flooring in the bathroom was the BOMB on the cold morning. The fire place didn't work, but we were only there one night so it wasn't a big deal. They called and left a VM for me with the check in details, so I was able to avoid human contact which I LOVED! Overall, I highly recommend this place.

The cabin was lovely. My only recommendation would be to provide a welcome sheet with information re: working the fireplace, what the remote controls on the bathroom and main room walls are for. There are some light switches in the bathroom that apparently have no use. These should be noted. These are overall minor issues. The cabin was great and I will definitely recommend this property.

We loved the aesthetics of the room with the exception of the lighting. We highly suggest installing an overhead light. The little dinette was nice as were the double bathroom sinks. The mattress could use upgrading though. There were other nice touches like the grill out front and the fireplace, although we couldn’t get it to turn on. Instructions may have been helpful. We received the checkin instructions while our phone signal was not available but thankfully did not erase msg. When we got to the property the office was closed. When we tried calling the number on the door, it went to voicemail. Then we remembered to go back to our voicemail and found the cabin number and code. Several times that night, the neighboring tenant’s car alarm set off. It was very disconcerting, especially knowing there was no one in the office to investigate. We decided not to stay the second night, forfeiting those fees because we felt unsafe in a somewhat isolated environment. The best part about our stay was finding Mac’s Diner down the road. Delicious breakfast in a 1950’s diner setting.

The owner was extremely pleasant and very flexible with my recent stay!! She got me cabin #12 and after a little drama checking in, my time there was wonderful....I stayed for 8 nights and even though I didn't have time to check out the waterfall, everything else was amazing....the cabin was clean, comfy bed, small table to eat my supper meals, plates/silverware, nice shower, comfy couch and even a grill!! Yes it had some "cabin" features like creaky door, older shower, and yes some highway traffic, but I wasn't staying at some large corporate hotel hours away...the convenience of the location to Hoopa, the very friendly owner who got my extended stay, easily made up for it....I will recommend this place to anyone in that neck of the woods and appreciate having a place during my recent work assignment!!

My wife and I reserved a cottage 24 hours before we planned to check in. We planned to do a wildlife survey in part of the national forest nearby the morning after our stay. Just after reserving and paying for the cottage, we were informed that the national forest had just closed the area we planned to go to, due to a wildfire. So our reason for stay was gone. I contacted the management by phone, and explained this to them, and the person I spoke with said they checked with the owner, who said no refund and no credit towards a future stay, which would have been fine. While the business's policy was no refunds within 48 hours of the check-in, given the circumstances, why not give us credit toward a future stay? They would still have our money, and our last-minute reservation had tied up the room for less than 24 hours before I contacted them to cancel. At first, I was told I could get a 10% discount on a future stay as consolation ($19 of the $190 we paid). Finally, after some back and forth, the person I spoke with said they would email a voucher for $70. It has not shown up, and there was no reply to my email asking about it. I would give 1 star except that the employee seemed to try, and was responsive (which the owner was not).

Very clean, cozy, quiet and secure. Loved the proximity to Willow Creek and Ray's Market and Bigfoot Steakhouse. All your home essentials are there in your room. We loved the Bigfoot Museum in town. Thank you China Creek staff! You all worked well together to make our 36th Anniversary a special memory.
