What are the popular Hostels in Winterthur?

Siamo partiti venerdi sera per winterthur con tutta la famiglia (2adulti e 2 bambini (6/3). L' ostello si trova in una zona tranquilla e facile da trovare. Ci hanno accolto con gentilezza e con molta professionalita. La persona ha cercato anche di parlare in italiano ed è stato molto apprezzato. Visto che siamo giuti con la macchina, ci sono state proposte 2 possibilità: una variante da 9.- al coperto o una variante da 5.- all aperto. Entrambe le soluzioni a pochi passi dall ostello. Noi abbiamo optato per il coperto. Conviene annunciarsi, in quanto pochi posti disponibili. La stanza che abbiamo preso noi era una quadrupla (2 letti a castello + letto matrimoniale) con doccia e wc in camera. Per una famiglia è la soluzione ottimale. Stanza confortevole, molto grandi, pulita e molto ben arredata (antico con moderno). A me sono piaciute molte le travi a vista, in quanto la stanza era in un soppalco all ultimo piano. Ho dormito molto bene. Abbastanza insonorizzato, eventualmente alla reception forniscono i tappi. Abbiamo scelto l opzione con colazione, e al mattino abbiamo potuto fare in cucina la colazione. Bello che si ha la possibilita di scegliare vare opzioni di colazione: budjet, mini, standard, ... cosi ognuno può scegliere quale aggrada di piu! Inoltre è a disposizione una cucita ben fornita, per scaldare, per mettere in frigo, cucinare. La scelta di questo ostello è stato veramente vincente e siano stati molto contenti. Consiglio a tutti! Anche con bambini piccoli. Il prezzo è assolutamente basso e ne vale la pena, sopratutto per coloro che come noi vogliono magari sono visitare in un giorno il museo technorama o la citta.

Perhaps because of this ”Covid” period but I found the establishment ”soulless” sad except for the hostess at reception who had a smile otherwise a cold atmosphere we passed through shabby corridors, breakfast was also made with ”basic” products, nothing in taste, nothing that stood out. a quick word also about the parking that we pay for and which is full when we arrive in the evening?? I'm a fan of Ibises but need to see them again to give a little color or life!!

Ideal location as close to train station, bus station and center. Cosy hotel with fine atmosphere, there can be a lot. We had a wide room ( sleeping here 3 nights for family visit) with fine beds and kiss ( delicious sleep). We could put coffee / tea in our room. A nice stay with a delicious breakfast (real top). Enjoy and we will probably come back again. The staff is also very friendly and helpful.

It’s an excellent hotel, with fascinating breakfast ! The room was very spacious and clean. I enjoyed my stay there. The only negative thing is that the windows of my room looked to the railway. I traveled there in the beginning of June, it was not hot and I didn’t have to open a window at night. But I can imagine that in hot weather the sounds of trains can be really annoying .

We were very pleased with this hotel in the traffic free Old Town of Winterthur, surrounded by shops and restaurants. We enjoyed this location as it was within a 5 minute walk of the train station, which got us to our destinations easily without the hurried bustle of Zurich (close by for a day trip). Upon registration, Melanie took us up to our room and carefully explained how everything worked and what was available in the room, including safe, fridge, very comfortable beds and a lovely modern bathroom. Since this was our first night in Switzerland, it was a very appreciated gesture. The room was nicely decorated, quiet and upscale for a reasonable price. The staff was very friendly and helpful, including Nicole in the restaurant and the breakfast staff (Velspa? - sorry I did not get her name correct). We would definitely stay here again and really enjoyed the more relaxed pace of Winterthur.

Das Positive vorweg: Das Hotel liegt perfekt im Zentrum von Winterthur. Parkmöglichkeiten gibt es gegenüber in der TG Technikum. Check in ist persönlich nur bis 17 Uhr möglich. Ich habe ein DZ Deluxe gebucht. Dieses lag direkt über dem Durchgang in die Fußgängerzone. Daher bis spät Abends sehr laut. Auch um 4 Uhr war die Nacht”ruhe” dann vorüber, da die ersten Lieferanten gefahren kamen. Auch der Straßenlärm fängt sich in der Gasse. Das Zimmer selbst schön groß. Allerdings noch mit alten Möbeln und extrem tiefen Betten. Auch ist noch Teppichboden verlegt. Das Badezimmer recht modern. Für 20 Franken habe ich mir das Frühstück aufs Zimmer aufschwetzen lassen. Mir wurden 2 frische Brötchen, Croissant, Wurst, Käse etc. versprochen. Was kam war ein Brotkörbchen mit 2 leicht trockenen Aufbackbrötchen, einem trockenen Croissant, 2 Scheiben Käse und 2 Scheiben S*****en. Alles serhr lieblos angerichtet. Also das sollte man sich sparen. Da gibt es viele gute Bäckereinen neben an, die das deutlich liebevoller und günstiger machen. Großes Manko auch, daß man nicht vors Haus fahren kann. Ich komme nicht mehr wieder. Einfach zu laut und zu schlechte Betten. Hunde sind erlaubt. Grünflächen für das Geschäft in unmittelbarer Nähe vorhanden.

One of the best places I’ve stayed so far. Literary 2 minutes’ walk from the train station. The facility itself is very clean, modern looking and have freshening bright white interior. The room that we stayed was spacious and clean, had spotless clean sheets/linens, and more than adequate catering (coffee capsules of Nespresso and cream&sugar). The floor cleaners was so polite and hospitable. In addition, the 8th of June 2023 morning front-office staff Ada Ammann was outstandingly polite, hospitable, cheerful and eager to help us. We were sleepless and tired because of the flight and she helped us to check-in before the announced hour. She also provided us w/ the info to get train tickets, FX conversion points and even breakfast options. To sum up, I highly recommend this hotel to all who wishes to visit Zurich area.

Leider haben wir keine Informationen über die Frühstückszeiten erhalten. im Zimmer gibt es jedoch eine Broschüre, welche Auskunft gibt. Es wird mitgeteilt, dass das ”all you can eat”-Frühstücksbuffet an Wochenenden und Feiertagen bis 12.00 zur Verfügung steht. Als wir am Samstag um 10.15 Uhr an Buffet kamen, war leider bereits alles abgeräumt. Wir bekamen, widerwillig, noch ein kleines Frühstück, welches dem Preis von CHF 15.00 pro Person leider nicht entsprach. Als wir das Personal darauf angesprochen haben, wurden wir zurückgewiesen, wir haben dies falsch verstanden. Am Sonntag waren wir dann nun früher unterwegs, und haben uns am Buffet bedienen können. Um 10.00 Uhr kamen weitere Hotelgäste, welche diese Broschüre gelesen haben, und dies ebenfalls so verstanden haben, dass es bis 12.00 Uhr Frühstück gibt. Das Personal am Frühstücksbuffet war sehr unfreundlich und hat das Buffet sehr gewaltsam bedient.
