Here's writing a much overdue review of our stay at Eastern House during our time spent in Xian.
Eastern House is a boutique hotel tucked away along Fenxiang lane, about a 10min walk away from the hustle and bustle of the main Nanda street. Fenxiang lane also includes a number of eateries and convenience stores that allow one to buy daily necessities.
The location is very convenient as it sits away from the noise of the main street but yet is within a 10min 15min walk away from the main Line 2 Zhonglou station, or Line 6 Guang Ji Jie station. This makes the nearby Bell Tower (Zhonglou) attractions easily accessible including the Huimin Jie (Muslim Street) tourist spot.
We had a mixed bag of experience with the rooms that looked a little dated in the interior. The deluxe room assigned was a little dusty though the family room with 3 beds was well maintained.
What made up for it was the wonderful team of staff we encountered during our stay that were forthcoming and helpful. These included staff at the cafeteria, front desk as well as house keeping. A special shout out to the following people I remembered as going out their way to ensure we had a smooth stay. David Han, Terry Li, Emma Wang, Candy Tian, Sun Lu, 陈佳珧, 尹改利, 王红梅, 王建荣, the Cantonese Chef, the lovely lady that headed the front desk, not to mention the young lady that showed our family to the rooms when we arrived late after midnight. There were many others I cannot list in entirety.
Thank you for the excellent service that remains in the hearts of our family. It is indeed true that the people of Xian are 热情洋溢, 踏实可爱。We look forward to visiting Xian again including Eastern House.
