The service provided by Xiaojiao at the front desk was very good. We upgraded to a family room. The hotel is very large and there are many attractions nearby. We didn't drive but parking was convenient. Booked during the special price period, great value. Big bathtub, big balcony. Although the gym and swimming pool are not used, you can use them if you need them. When you go out the back door and follow the light trail, you can see the most beautiful night view in Zhangzhou, and there is also a music, water, dance and light show, which is great!

I have stayed at quite a few Wanda hotels in the past and always had a pleasant experience but the past two days were anything but pleasant. I had a two night stay in Zhangzhou Wanda Realm from the 22nd of January to the 24th of January. I have listed my grievances below. 1. Air-conditioning does not work. My room was a constant temperature of 25 degrees Celsius and even after turning on the air conditioning did the temperature not go down. I had to ask the hotel to open a window to decrease the temperature and thus let polluted air into the room. 2. I booked an executive room knowing that I would receive some benefits. Not only was the executive lounge closed but as stated in the notice, they requested we use the hotel lobby bar which was also closed. I paid 850RMB per night for this room. If I am not going to have the benefits of an executive room at least refund me. 3. Swimming pool times have drastically decreased to limited times. I know that this is Chinese New year but isn't this the time when the hotel would receive most of its guests and thus have all the amenities ready and working to make a guest stay very pleasant. 4. Breakfast buffet was below standard of a 4 star hotel. Not only was the selection of foods extremely basic but the food was severely under stock. One would think that a four star hotel would be able to plan for a busy time like Chinese New year but no, there was limited food on basic items like eggs and bacon. Staff were not prepared for such large amounts of people. 5. It seems like this hotel is closing down as many water features and other amenities are either out of order or not working properly. It is an embarrassment to call this hotel a luxury hotel. It has the facade of a luxury hotel but cannot deliver on basic amenities. Please see my photos for evidence of my unpleasant stay. The staff were very friendly and tried to help where they can but it would be better to close down this hotel than call it a luxury 4 star hotel.

The noodles at the Zhangzhou Lu Noodle Shop on Xiuwen East Road downstairs are delicious, and there is a sand tea noodles on the east side. The main entrance of the homestay is on Yan'an Road, a restaurant that is a long way to the north. The homestay is across the road from the Zhangzhou Confucian Temple. On the top floor terrace of the homestay, you can overlook the panoramic view of the Confucian Temple, including the Dianchi Lake at the door. The day and night view are good. Entering and leaving the ancient city, going south to the southwest gate about 400 meters, and going north to the north gate closer, it is very convenient. The front desk and cleaning staff are very polite, and the front desk girl will also introduce the food varieties and better restaurants in the ancient city. There is a door on the first floor. It is very safe for guests to swipe their room card to open the door and go upstairs. There is a large hand-painted map of the ancient city on the wall of the gate, and the attractions are unobstructed. In a simple summary, this is a five-star homestay, and the service and location are worthy of its price.
