The Amaya Beach Passikudah provides a great place for travelers to relax after a busy day. Visitors to Passekudah will find that the Amaya Beach Passikudah is a fantastic accommodation choice. With Kalkudah just 4km away and Batticaloa International Airport only 27km away, transportation is very convenient. With multiple attractions nearby including Passekudah Bay, Methodist Church Kalkudah and Passikudah Beach Glass Boat Ride, guests will find plenty to keep themselves occupied. After a long day of sightseeing, guests can retire to the comfort of the hotel. This Passekudah hotel provides parking on site. Our guests rate this hotel as one of the best hotels for cleanliness.

"This is a very good hotel. Everything is clean, tidy, and beautiful. The rooms are spacious, and the grounds are well-maintained. The room comes with toiletries such as shampoo, shower gel, a shaving kit, body lotion, and a dental kit. Personally, I would have liked slippers as walking barefoot on the cold tiles wasn't very comfortable. Bathrobes would also have been a nice addition. There were never any issues finding sun loungers on the beach; there were always plenty available. It wasn't until the third day that we realized you could ask for mattresses for the loungers, and they would bring them to you. The hotel staff seems to hide them somewhere overnight. Regarding the sea, many complain about the difficult entry due to rocks, seaweed, and coral. For us, this was a plus because we love to snorkel. We saw the best coral on the left side of the beach, near the buoys, before reaching the big boat. The right side had only seaweed and was very shallow. It's better to swim in the morning, as the tide goes out in the afternoon. The water was a bit cloudy all days of our stay. We saw an interesting lionfish and a moray eel. On the hotel grounds, there's a flock of annoying crows. One afternoon, while relaxing on the beach, they swiped wet wipes from my bag, so it's best to close all your belongings when you go for a swim. About the food: it's quite decent and varied. For those who don't like spicy food, there's a chance of getting burned. For example, one day the noodles were delicious and not spicy, but on other days they were terribly hot. It's best to avoid the wooden food stand, as everything there is spicy. They occasionally offered shrimp, but they weren't peeled. Locals, of course, eat everything with their hands, but we found it uncomfortable. For dinner, only water is provided; other drinks cost extra. At first glance, the prices on the bar menu seemed reasonable, but then they add a 30% service charge, which sometimes isn't even provided. For example, I walked to the bar myself, ordered a drink, and carried it back to my sun lounger. Where was the service there? Yet, it was still +30%. We usually went to nearby cafes for lunch and typically got takeout to eat in our room because these cafes don't have air conditioning. We couldn't find any decent shops nearby, only a shabby kiosk where you could at most buy water. It's quite a distance from Colombo airport. You need to be prepared for at least a 5-hour drive on narrow roads. However, we did see an elephant on the way, so we didn't even have to go on a safari! Overall, we were satisfied with our holiday at this hotel."

According to our trusted guests, the facilities at this hotel are first-rate.

"A great hotel, chosen from all the nearby hotels on the coast, but the choice stopped not Calm and didn't regret. First, a great beach with shadowy places with lying, second after all trips to the SL and stops in small hotels, wanted something al Turkey, so the parameter of the hotel is very worthy and big and third moment, After all the bathing in the big waves on the SL, I wanted to buy quietly! All this we got, but the truth is not quite transparent, because too small sand does not manage to settle even with small waves. Everything else is super! Large rooms, service, service! We have improved the room for free, with a separate outlet to the ocean, generally caught in this hotel full of cafe and relaxation. Separately, of course, it is necessary to take into account that Passicuda itself is a very small village, eat better only in a hotel or in neighboring ones. Whatever it is difficult to buy from products or K/B is difficult for whom it is important, it is better to do it in advance)"

"Location is chic, room with a gulf view - excellent, served table with bags of tea, sugar and that rare - glasses in paper sterile packages. Dinner is delicious and not very expensive. Everything seems good. But - while there is a manager to contact and who will give instructions to the workers. The second towel could not be received. In the evening they ordered breakfast at 7.30 in the morning to leave early. Until 8.00 at all no one could be found in the restaurant or in the receptacle. Then I managed to catch some half-sleepy guy, even I don't know who he is. Reminded about breakfast, ran, minutes after 15 brought in place of English breakfast an uncooked egg, toasts, margarine and jam and))) half the mandarin. Also ordered 1 extra coffee as they were sure that the coffee included in breakfast. But the result was 2 coffee separately. I don't regret this money, but to dumped on the small things - somehow unbeautiful and hurts the image of the hotel. Second time we won't go. Although the room and the view, I repeat, excellent."

"The location is very good, very close to the beach and the swimming pool is beautiful. The hotel sent a day's breakfast. Although the breakfast is really simple, it is also a bonus service. After all, it is free. The room was average. During our stay, there was a power outage for a long time. It was too hot to stay in the room. There was no place to have air conditioning when we went out. This was very collapsed. Continued cleaning is not to say that it will not be cleaned, you have to take the initiative to mention it yourself. I think the bedding is not clean. We stayed for four days. I had five or six big red envelopes on my stomach, as if I was bitten by a scorpion. But if this kind of thing wants to prove to be a hotel problem, I have to go to the hospital, so I didn't say anything to the hotel. I'll go home."

"Good hotel!!! We spent 7 nights in it The owners are very hospitality and responsive, prepared for us big shrimps and carried on the Marble Beach, of course for a separate fee. Breakfasts were not very diverse but big and saturated) The hired worker, a tall young man very much helped us with the kid, played with him while we ate) the child himself asked for him on the handles)) The girls who cooked us breakfast were also very nice and kind. Our room was on the third floor and we had a whole veranda - it was very convenient - to play with the child, to hang wet clothes, to look at stars or to drink morning coffee, the husband smoked. The location is also good - the third house from the beach) The beach is quite clean, much cleaner than in the tourist area of Uppuvelli. There are many shops with fruit and cafes, where locals eat - not as insabious as in tourist restaurants, but also delicious and 3 times cheaper From the downsides -in the room there was no place to lay or hang clothes-no closet, no hooks, nothing to hang shoulders-we had a mountain in the suitcase and around. Many clothes were hanging on the veranda 'the fence has always had a flock of local homeless dogs, they are harmless but noisy - No hot water. While it was cloudy was not comfortable to wash, then it became normal) -WiFi works badly, on the veranda caught better -TV isn 't available, he certainly wasn 't declared, but it turned out to be boring to wait for the sunset without it We are unlikely to return here again because of the great variety of hotels , but for not very attractive tourists the place will be very even suitable )"

"Awesome hotel! We stayed here for 4 nights and we liked it very much. We never regretted choosing this place. The main dignity of this hotel attitude towards the guests. The owner of the hotel a local resident who sincerely cared for his guests and tried to make their stay as comfortable as possible. Here you really feel the real hospitality. All staff are very polite, kind and attentive. Staff are always ready to help with any matter: to call tuck, to tell interesting and beautiful places, to help organize a trip, to agree on something or solve the home issue. The owner was always ready to help and give advice. He even showed us the neighborhood free of charge and rolled around the area a little, for which he was a separate thank you. The room has everything you need for comfortable accommodation: hot water showers, fan, twig, air conditioner and fan. Bedding and towels were clean. Bed large and comfortable. The room was clean, no insects or other animals we noticed. Despite the convenient location, the night was quiet. The rooms are quite far from the road, so the noise of the transportation does not prevent rest. The hotel is very close to the ocean. To most of the sights, interesting places and activities in the area, you can reach the area in about 15 minutes on the tuck-tuck. I would like to celebrate the food everything was delicious. We felt very comfortable and calm here. Thanks a lot to the owner and the whole team for the care and the wonderful time we spent here. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants not to just stay, but to feel the real hospitality of Sri Lanka's locals. We would be happy to stay here again!"

"Myself and my partner had the best stay at De Pearla resort. Farah the host was the best. He cooked us the most amazing meals, helped us with anything we needed assistance with and made our trip so special. He even showed us how to cook biriyani! My girlfriend became ill with a fever on one of the days and Farah went above and beyond to make sure that we were all ok and looked after. It really felt like we became part of the family. His son was also very helpful and kind to us. De Perla is a tranquil slice of Paradise that felt like a home away from home. It was always so amazing to come back to after a long day surfing and the craziness of Arugam Bay. We hope that we come back here again one day. Thank you Farah. We hope we meet again!"

The rooms are incredible and the beach is lovely but this is NOT a 4* hotel. The rest of the place seems run down and not looked after, the gardens are a mess, volleyball court isn’t usable and I’ve not seen a children’s play area. Staff are scarce, there is no pool bar and you have to go in search of beach towels or drinks. The restaurant is extremely poor, long wait for service and we were the only ones in the restaurant. Food options weren’t available and beer was only put in the fridge when I asked for it, so I then had to wait for it to cool down before it was served, when food arrived it wasn’t great, felt like a quick microwave meal. Room initially had no hot water, which we had to wait to be fixed, there is nothing in the mini bar as advertised, you just get an empty fridge, hairdryer had to be requested and room was missing towels and robes etc on arrival. Rooms took a long time to be made up each day and again some towels and robes were not replenished and had to be requested again. Parts of the hotel were closed and lots of lights at night flickered. They also advertise that the hotel has a night club and a billiards room, we haven’t seen any sign of a nightclub and the billiards room is two pool tables, one completely out of use with tape over it and the other is extremity rundown, dusty and wonky that you can’t play a game on it properly. No staff ever gave us a briefing on arrival or told us about the hotel, we have had to explore, guess and ask questions. Staff have been somewhat helpful, they speak English but don’t seem to understand it when they’re asked questions. Hotel has a what’s app service but responses are very slow and even then not fully understood. It’s like it used to be a 4* hotel but it’s run by pirates 🏴☠️

The trouble with rating this resort is that it is 2 distinct sides of the coin. On the one hand, the location and room size is by far the BEST in Passikuddah. U cannot find a more value for money location and room size with views overlooking the gorgeous ocean all day and from each room! Their staff are extremely cordial and super helpful especially Mr. Sujan went out of his way to help us out with any queries or hiccups we may have had at the place. But the two things that really need extreme help are their sad breakfast and their funny rule of cleaning up rooms only once in 3 days which for a beach resort is unheard of!!! We had to ask them to clean up the room which is when we got to know about this rule they follow and to be honest, it was shocking cuz we have never heard that ever in our entire lives - they did it immediately, again with Sujan's help but I don't think one should have to ask for a clean room when you are at a resort - it's a given!! Second, their breakfast is a no-show. They offer toast, a handful of fruits and eggs besides coffee. That's just about it. For a beach resort, with that kind of view, this breakfast is a complete insult to the staff, the town and the vibe! They really need to work on that.

Price-quality is consistent. Cleaning only on request, with no change of clothing. Shampoo and air conditioners are not available, put a small soap. Staff polite and welcoming. There is a parking, in the room air conditioner, wi-fi is weak. In a generally simple and budget hotel, your money is worth. Waiting for super-ordinary, of course, isn't worth.

I recently stayed at the Giman Free Hotel and had a unique experience. This hotel is truly isolated, far away from civilization, making it a perfect spot for introverts or those looking for solitude. While the hotel itself is clean, it is clear that some renovations are needed to update the facilities. However, the staff more than makes up for any shortcomings with their friendliness and willingness to accommodate guests. The restaurant at the hotel surprised me with its delicious food, which I found to be better than what I have experienced at some five-star hotels in Sri Lanka. The beach near the hotel is clean. However, the downside of the beach which is very wild and long is the amount of garbage and plastic that washes up on the shore. Since the beach is deserted it was disheartening to see all the pollution scattered along the shoreline. Overall, if you are seeking a quiet retreat away from the hustle and bustle of city life, the Giman Free Hotel is a great option. Just be prepared for a bit of roughness around the edges of the beach.

The reception was warm and welcoming, and the staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring throughout our stay. The room was beautifully spacious and comfortable, creating a very relaxing atmosphere. We stayed in an ocean-view bungalow, which added a wonderful sense of luxury and made the experience feel truly special. The amenities were excellent, with a wide range of thoughtful touches that made everything even more enjoyable. This place is a perfect getaway for anyone looking to relax and unwind. We highly recommend it – without a doubt the best accommodation in the area.

We enjoyed our stay at the beach bungalows here. We came during off season and they cleaned the pool for us and we had the beachfront bungalow. The breakfast was really good! However, this hotel also operates a liquor store that runs 24/7 right in the middle of the guest rooms so at all hours of the day there were people walking through to buy alcohol (during breakfast time even) and then would sit down on the premises to consume their purchases. As two young travellers it was not a huge deal but if you are a family it might not be the space for you!

The hotel looks very primising in the pictures, beautiful setting and facilities. Unfortunately we were a bit disqppointed on the way it is managed. It looks like the place is abandoned relying on its own structure and pictures. Pros: - beautiful setting and location, in front of a beautiful beach. - rooms are well done, big bathrooms, nice outdoor area. - faclities have a beautiful decoration, the bar, the restaurant. Cons: - cleaning! The resort has a cleaning issue. To the point that we wrote ”clean me” with our fingers on the restaurant toilet mirror, and it was there during our entire stay. Nothing has regular cleaning, spots everywhere, toilets are terrible specialy the poil toilet (see pictures). - bar drinks are not good. We tried many drinks and juices in all the hotels we stayed in Sri Lanka, and this one we had to give up, drink after drink, juice after juice, were not good at all. Also the drink glasse come very very dirty. - bar is beautiful but never had any music during our stay. Its a silent empty place, no one uses it... and the bartender usualy is not there which makes it a ghost place. - service is welcoming but not prepared. For example before you reach the breakfast area upstairs they ask you: ”what do you want for breakfast? So i dont have to go upstairs to ask”, overall staff is tired, not motivated and have no training, they are as abandoned as the hotel. - spa was closed during our entire stay, because the lady had days off. So we booked a hotel with a Spa that did not exist...you have to be lucky not to book on her days off. - when at check-out i tried to tell them the place have lots of potential but they need to pay attention to this details they just replied: thank you for your stay, please make us a review on tripadvisor! So they just don't pay attention... which is sad to see. I wish they could change the management and have someone motivated and energic to transform the place into the best hotel in Sri Lanka, because they could be.
