They assured me they had found them and would promptly send them back to me. Initially relieved, I awaited their response eagerly. However, as days passed, I received no updates despite my repeated requests for them to send my belongings via courier, with me covering the costs. Unfortunately, the hotel failed to respond to my requests, leaving me to make weekly follow-up calls. After more than three months of waiting, I was informed that my belongings had been lost. The excuses provided, such as changes in management or staff not being on duty, seemed unprofessional and lacked accountability. Losing items of great religious significance has been distressing, and the lack of genuine concern from the hotel only exacerbated the situation. Additionally, the absence of any communication from the new manager further highlighted the hotel's disregard for customer care. As someone involved in the travel industry, I had considered recommending Lumbini Palace Resort to my clients. However, based on my experience, I have decided against it. It's clear that the resort's staff need better training and a deeper understanding of their responsibilities in the hospitality industry. LOCATION & ATTRACTIONS NEARBY *** Located in the main part of Lumbini town, just few steps away from one of the gate to get to the Maya Devi Temple and Old Shakya Temple. It’s literally few minutes away, walking. After that, I recommend to negotiate an auto-rikshaw (they have electric ones now) to see all other temples and the World Peace Pagoda (distances are huge, so this is very efficient way to do it), it’s not expensive and definitely more comfortable. Also, if you’re travelling by bus, they will be probably stopping somewhere in the area. There are some food and souvenir shops just 2 min away from the hotel. HOTEL OVERVIEW *** It is quite basic hotel, not very pretty (like most buildings in Lumbini), built in a bit chaotic style (outside). If you’re travelling by car, you can leave it in front of the hotel or in the secured place behind the hotel (behind the gate). LENGTH OF MY STAY *** 1 night – Mar 2019 CHECK-IN *** We arrived in the early evening after long and tired full journey from Kathmandu (I was driving myself). The amount of dust we consumed on the way was unbelievable. So what we needed, was a quick check-in and shower. We’ve been accommodated immediately and helped with our luggage. Rooms were allocated as requested as we’re travelling with friends. Check-in was quick and hassle-free. We’ve been advised of the meal options and what / when / where to go the next day. I also requested if they have somebody to help with the car wash (yes, unusual request, but my car was actually covered in 1 cm layer of dust) and they helped with it (of course I paid for it as intended). LOBBY & RECEPTION *** Small reception where you can also get some drinks. There’s restaurant attached to it where we decided to have our dinner. Menu was quite simple, but good choice and food was delicious. We were very happy with this choice. ROOM *** Standard Rooms #203 & #202 were allocated for us. Rooms were quite small and basic, but this is exactly what I paid for. I have to admit, the price we paid was silly low, so I wasn’t expecting any luxurious. Room was clean and fresh, with two beds (quite hard mattress’). Air-conditioner unit was quite noisy, but the fan was absolutely fine most of the time. There was small wardrobe, mirrors and coffee/tea making kit. Complimentary 2 bottles of water were also provided. As I said, nothing special (this is not a luxury hotel), but more than I expected and paid for. BATHROOM *** Similar to the room, standard, but clean. Some soap was provided, but you may consider having your own toiletries. BREAKFAST *** We paid for the breakfast in the hotel and this was very good idea. The selection was enough and same as dinner, quite tasty. Definitely recommend doing it instead of walking around and trying to find something else. No point of wasting your time. INTERNET

This place is an incredible oasis and has been an absolute highlight as we start exploring Nepal. The staff are friendly, considerate and well organised. The gardens are beautiful and calming. The rooms are well sized and conveniently located. The food is great and there’s plenty of local beer to try too. Last night the staff kept the bar open for an extra half hour while we drank and played cards which was so kind of them! And they did it all with smiles on their faces. Would definitely recommend to anyone coming to explore the Lumbini area

It is very rare to be able to book a hotel with a swimming pool in the hot blue area, which is a dusty village. The hotel is newly renovated and very clean. It's a little far away from the main classics. It takes about 20-30 minutes to take a taxi to Gate 5.

Stayed in Room 107 for 2 nights. I arrived early in the evening thanks to difficulties crossing the Indian Nepal border. No major problems checking in except some confusion over if I had already paid. The hotel is in a very good condition with marble and tiles everywhere. My room was on the first floor. There didn't appear to be a lift, but the staircase was pretty shallow anyway. Upon entry to the room, there was a strong smell of Naphthalene. Everything looked clean, although I picked up dust while walking barefoot and ended up using the slippers provided. The bathroom had an open shower, toilet and basin. The room was large enough without everything getting in the way. Hot water was available via a hot water boiler. The bathroom was clean and hygienist enough, although the silicone sealant needed to be redone. The room had a double and a single bed. The blanket and sheets were clean, although there was a slight damp smell. The mattress was medium firm and with the thick blankets, it was quite comfortable sleeping even in the cooler Feb/March weather. Breakfast was part of the package and had to be ordered with a call to the in-house restaurant and brought to the room. Location wise, the hotel is about 15 minutes to the airport by car. The main bus stand is 2 minutes walk away. The immediate area is quiet. The nearest restaurant is about 5 minutes walk, or use the in-house restaurant. The nearest busy area is probably Buddha Chowk, about 1 to 2 km away. That's also where you can get a local bus to Lumbini Historic Park. Overall, I had a good stay. The front office staff are fantastic. Really polite and courteous. The hotel is in good condition, bar some of the small points already mentioned.

Among the vast green rice fields, only a 15-minute walk from the Cultural City Maya Madame Temple, it is a good place for meditation. The manager of the hotel was very nice. When I was sick, he took me to the local hospital and took care of me, which made me feel warm in a foreign country.

Quite a nice design and a space. Rooms are spacious and the dining room has space for all kinds of guests. However, the whole stay was a horrible experience. I haven't seen a single 5 star standards in this hotel. Not even a three star. There are massive structural damage, I could see an inch of the concrete through the crack in the dining room. The frame of the room door was completely cracked. Lobby carpets were coming out. The bath room door railing was rusted and the rust was falling off. We could not move the door to close it. It always stayed 2 inches open. The bidet pressure wasn't controlled. The carpets were dusty, curtain had stains. Most horrifying thing I saw was the bedding. I myself is a hotelier and for the first time in my life I saw a duet covered by two bedsheets. The duet was stained and sheets were dusty. Had to call in the middle of the night and asked them to put a proper cover. The sheets smelt like they were kept inside a cupboard for a month and wasn't aired. It was terrible. I believe the hotel is heavily understaffed and the staff is trying their best but taken the size of the place, that must be an impossible task. Still, the gusts must not be put through such experiences. if some attention is not given, this beautiful property will not stand for long.

It was conveniently located about 2 minutes walk from the gate of the Lumbini Holy Land Park, so Rikshar for sightseeing was also easy to catch. The 1 floor is a restaurant. Wi-Fi was not good or it was cut off in the room. The bathroom (no partition) was very large, so I didn't care much even if it was wet. The quality of beds and so on is the middle of the room and it feels like an inn, but I think it is a pretty beautiful hotel in Lumbini. On the morning of check-out, I was worried that a great storm would break the window glass, but the hotel staff seemed to have nothing, so it might be a daily business. No ... I was afraid of it in vain. Laugh

It's pretty good in Lumbini. To be honest, I live very comfortably. It has nothing to do with not being scored 5 points. It is recommended. The service score was low because a male staff member at the front desk of the hotel, about 30 years old, helped us find a local ”Tutu” car. He started to say 100 rupees, and it cost 1,000 to return to the hotel after using the car. Don't we understand the difference between 100 and 1000? It's ridiculous. Rs 900 is just 50+ RMB. Angrily complained to Ctrip, Ctrip handled it very well, with 100 points. Lament the greatness of the motherland! No matter Nepal or Bhutan, there are good people and people who are not bad people. I once again lament the greatness of the motherland.

The rooms are small but tidy. Accommodations near Lumbini Park are average. This hotel is very cost-effective. The air conditioner in the room is brand new and very easy to use. The quilt in the room is a reusable blanket. It is recommended to bring your own travel bedding. A very cute family runs this hotel and chats very happily.

It was a very good hotel. The food is delicious. The air conditioner was working without problems. The employee service was perfectly fine.
