Filled with picturesque alleyways, narrow pedestrian roads, local fruit and vegetable stands, local restaurants and colonial style villas, Coloane Village is the ideal place for those looking for a relaxing and waterfront environment in Macau. Be it to reside or visit, Coloane village is one of the few areas in Macau nestled in the heart of nature. With several small businesses operating there, it offers a wide selection of local flavors and it’s the birthplace of Macau’s egg tarts, at Lord Stow’s Bakery. The village’s center also includes a popular Chinese restaurant, Nga Tim and some other attractions. Instagrammers will be attracted by colorful walls and urban art in the streets. It also has two Buddhist temples worth visiting: A-Má Temple and Tam Kuang Temple. It is on the southernmost part of the island and a bit less touristy than other equally famous sights. Coloane Village is also home to local shops, historical churches and temples, and other traditional facades. The weekend does see an uptick in visitors, so try for a weekday if quiet is what you seek.
