Every time I go to Jiangfu Park, I have to walk along the railway to Langyuan. Langyuan is often to Changxin. After the transformation of the textile warehouse, Langyuan is full of industrial wind, trendy things, and there are many shops. There are also quite a lot of places to take pictures and punch in. It is extremely colorful. Langyuan is very large, including shops, dining, entertainment, recently held open-air music festivals, food festivals and other activities on weekends, lively.

Visiting Beijing in mid May is a best period to enjoy the vibrant floral that blooms everywhere around the city.

My mum and aunty were extremely excited everytime they see the huge roses along the streets. So I decided to bring them to Ritan Park (日坛), which means Temple of the Sun in Chinese. This is where the emperors of the Ming and Qing Dynasty performed sacrifices to the sun deity.

The park was said to be constructed in 1530 during the Ming Dynasty. The Central feature of the park is the Altar of the Sun. The altar is surrounded by pine trees and traditional Chinese architecture, enhancing it's historical ambience.

The park is about 20 hectares, and is meticulously landscaped with variety of flora, including ancient pine trees, ornamental flowers and seasonal blooms. Strolling around you will walk through the gardens, leading to tranquil ponds, rockeries and pavilions. Every part in the park especially the main pond is a photographic.

Ritan Park attracts both locals and tourists seeking for leisure and recreation. You'll find groups practising tai chi, dancing, singing, or exercising, reflecting the park's role as a community hub. And there is also a huge children playground! This is really interesting. 

While my mum and aunty immersed themselves into the garden of huge roses, I walk around to explore more about the park. There is also a Fishing Area, Rock Climbing activities and Open-Air Tea Houses. The park is very well maintained. 

The locals says that Ritan Park often hosts cultural events and festivals, particularly during the Chinese New Year and other traditional holidays. Many performances are organised such as lantarn displays, and various cultural activities that offer a deeper understanding of Chinese traditions and community spirit. 

Ritan Park is located at Ritan North Road of Chaoyang District Beijing. It opens everyday from as early as 6am-9pm. There is no admission fee to enter the park. Getting there is not difficult as there are several bus routes servicing the area and also subway station nearby. 

Ritan Park is definitely worth the visit if you are in Beijing. It is a park blend of history, culture and natural beauty, providing a peaceful retreat and a glimpse into Beijing imperial past.

There are many shops in the entire park to visit!

I didn't expect the "Thousands of Faces" national treasure-level embroidery exhibition, which was originally scheduled to end on the 19th of this month, to be withdrawn ahead of schedule today. It's worth noting that just two days ago, I mentioned wanting to see this exhibition in the 2024 museum list.

Perhaps it was fate that I, completely unaware of the early withdrawal, managed to catch the last day of the exhibition. How fortunate indeed!

All the exhibits are national treasure-level embroidery masterpieces, ranging from dragon robes to auspicious attire, from Manchu full-body dresses to Han Chinese horse-face skirts. The exquisite embroidery work is truly astonishing.

The fish-scale pleats of the horse-face skirt are lively and light, creating a very impressive visual art experience. It turns out that for thousands of years, people have already been wearing history and art.

Although the location is a bit far, a single trip allows for a full day of fun as the park is very well-developed, offering dining, entertainment, dating, family gatherings, and places to walk children and dogs.
👉There are Chinese hotpot and noodle shops, as well as sunny brunch spots, burger fast food, and trendy coffee shops with everything you need

Each shop is worth exploring, and there are two flower shops that come highly recommended

👉The park is pet-friendly, with cute dogs visible everywhere. In addition to shopping, there are natural sceneries to enjoy. To the north of the park is a railway platform, next to Jiangfu Park, offering plenty of activities for children

This place is perfect for taking photos, especially for weekend outings with kids, and it's also a great spot for friends and couples to take a walk. It's pet-friendly, free, and not crowded, making it ideal for a weekend city walk~

Langyuan Station
This site used to be a Beijing textile warehouse, with a small fresh industrial style. Now, it retains 30 warehouse buildings, which have been transformed and divided into different trendy blocks, featuring cafes, trendy shops, lifestyle markets, niche check-in spots, with a central station at its heart, and the west side leading to Jiangfu Park

Bookmark this! The new outdoor ice rink that Ice Mom tells you about!⛸ The entertainment for kids who learn ice hockey after getting off the ice is still going to the outdoor ice rink. They love ice and snow. I asked why he likes skating, he said he likes the speed on the ice haha, it turns out to be speed and passion😁🆒
When I went to Langyuan Station to take the kids out, I found a new outdoor ice rink Q, in the sunken square area, it used to be a sunken basketball court Q, just changed to an ice rink, the new ice rink just opened with few people and the ice is very smooth, rush!
Because it is newly opened, there are complete protective gear, helmets, and ice skates here, and they are all new. Just choose according to the child's size, the sizes are complete. My child is used to wearing his own ice skates so he brought his own, and brought the helmets and protective gear here, the ice dolphins that the children like, with this they can play for a long time. We played for most of the day, until it was almost dark.
It's much happier to play with him here than to accompany him in training usually. Here, adults can stay in the glass house to watch the children skate, without having to freeze outdoors, it's too comfortable. Always happy to be back to any kind of park in Beijing. This time I visited Beihai Park, a family-friendly and huge park in the central area of Beijing. Came here on the weekend, and it was not that packed with visitors. It was relaxing and calming. Spend at least one and half hour to stroll around the park and lake. 

How to reach the attraction:
Take Beijing city bus number 124, stop at Beihai bus stop. Walk 2 minutes to South Gate Entrance.

One of the best landmark to visit in the central area of Beijing. The name is Beihai Park. This park is located close to Jingshan Park, Shichahai, and Forbidden City. You can come with your family here to relax and learn about the history of it. 

The best time to come here is after 17.00 PM in the afternoon (on summer). Spend at least 1.5 hours to explore this area. Walk around and sit by the lakeside, also witness the beauty of sunset here!

Summer Breeze in Beihai Park

I have been to Mutianyu Great Wall before, and this year I am fortunate enough to have a chance to visit another part of this gorgeous construction with my family. We got invited to joined a group tour to the Lakeside Great Wall.

The journey was about 2 hours drive from China World Trade Center Beijing. We arrived Huanghuacheng Lakeside Great Wall around 9.30am. The view when we get nearer was breathtaking, with colourful flowers blooming everywhere.

Once arrived, we were ushered to a tunnel and walk to the jetty for a short 5mins boat ride. The beauty of the lake and surrounding mountains and floral make the whole ride feel so graceful and magical.

We crossed wooden bridges, hilly path, rainbow stride walkway, botanical gardens, witnessing a 800 year old ancient tree, what else can we ask for for such enjoyment. 

We also come across a hanging glass bridge before hiking up the Great Wall. The hike on this path is not too challenging but you still need some stamina and physical strength. The beautiful view and cool air helps to distract you from the exhaustion. It could be a bit tiring for those who don't exercise regularly but the experience along the way is definitely worth it. 

The costs of our trip is ¥800 including transportation, admission fee, boat ride and a delicious buffet lunch at a nearby famous cafe.
