The off-season winter trip to Gubei Water Town is super fun

The first trip of the New Year! ①Transportation: You can choose to take a bus from Dongzhimen or a train from Qinghe/Beijing North! The bus will take you directly to the parking lot of the scenic area, while the train to Gubeikou Station has a shuttle bus👍🏻. Depart in the morning of the first day and return in the afternoon of the second day, allowing you to see the sunrise and sunset along the way🌄 ②Sightseeing: Two days is completely enough! Plan your time well, wander around on the first day, and on the second day, choose the activities you most want to experience. The night tour of Simatai Great Wall is only a short section, but the night view is very beautiful😆. The water dance show is just fountains with lights, not very interesting😂. The drone show can be seen from the outdoor hot springs of the town's hot spring hotel! In the afternoon of the second day, I encountered an acrobatics show at the entrance of the Goldfish Pavilion, which was quite interesting👍🏻 ③Accommodation: Choose a hotel under the scenic area! There are ticket discounts!❗️The student discount ticket on Ctrip is for primary and secondary school students❗️. You will also get hot spring tickets and breakfast! It's a great deal! We went on a weekday, and the cost for hotel + hot springs + Gubei Water Town🎫 + Simatai Great Wall🎫 + round-trip night cable car + breakfast was 500r per person! ④Food: The food in the scenic area is expensive! Qiaotou cake is 15r each, and neither my roommate nor I liked it😂. Goldfish wontons are 12r, the sour kind, which my roommate loves👍🏻. Avoid the Sweet Great Wall dessert shop! Bought cheese and double-skin milk for two cups, 25r each, neither my roommate nor I liked it. Radish cake is 10r worth a try, the radish is a bit bitter, but fried very fragrant. Tofu corners are 15r, three pieces of fried tofu with soy sauce, tastes okay. The rice balls for three meals are 32r, taste good😣. Gubei's milk tea is 26r, too sweet, be careful to avoid it!. At night, only the late-night diner is open, tonkotsu ramen is 58r, very salty! Pork fat rice is 48r, also a bit salty even with added meat floss ⑤Photography: Yongshun Dye Workshop is very photogenic! But the light may be blocked!😂. The off-season streets are empty, you can pose freely. On the Great Wall, you can frame the night view of the water town and people together!👍🏻. The church on the mountain top⛪️ is very photogenic!🎉. Others like archery, if you pose well, it looks very cool ⑥Shopping: Avoid chestnut crisp! Xue Mei Niang looks very nice, but it's super sweet!!😞. My roommate bought a peach wood bracelet for 20r and a little chubby sword for 30r, quite cute. Yongshun Dye Workshop has DIY, but the quality seems average, so we bought finished products, earrings look very nice for 45r a pair, small ornaments are 30-40r each, clothes and scarves are more expensive, you can choose according to your money situation😮. The wine bottles in the winery are very nice, 108r a bottle is still a bit expensive Visiting Gubei Water Town in the off-season is really great! The service in the scenic area is super good! The visitor center can store luggage to the hotel, and on the second day, it can be transported back to the center for free!👍🏻. In winter, they even put cushions on every seat and every restroom has toilet paper! Very clean! Outside the scenic area, there is a pet-friendly inn, the visitor center has pet care, and there is a mother and baby room!!
