Blue City

Chefchaouen is a city in the Rif Mountains, 600 meters above sea level, it is around 115 kilometers 130 minutes drive from Tangier. It is known for the striking blue-washed buildings of its old town, all its streets have blue tinted walls, making the city a unique example. The traditional house of Chefchaouen were made of stone, brick, tile, wood, soil and lime. Each house had a courtyard decorated with fruit trees, such as oranges, lemons and berries. The Medina of Chefchaouen was built at the time the site was found in the 15th century, much of the architecture is still preserved from that time. The coolest part of visiting Chefchaouen, is that every house and street is tinted blue, making each alley is perfect for a photo shoot.
