This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a short and totally worthwhile day excursion from Hanoi, taking around four hours each way by bus. Though most known for its world-famous limestone outcroppings, Ha Long Bay also has a variety of beaches, the most well-known of which is Bai Chay, a man-made structure that attracts the majority of visitors. Take a boat journey to Ti Top Island, an island in the middle of the bay with its own beach, for the entire experience.
