Jinxian Gate is located at the intersection of Xinxing Road in Rongcheng District, Jieyang City. It was built in the first year of the Tianqi era of the Ming Dynasty (1621) and is named for its purpose of promoting virtuous scholars, hence the name 'Jinxian Gate', which is one of the eight scenic spots of Jieyang. The Jinxian Gate tower is divided into three levels: the lower level is the urn gate, the middle level is the city tower, and the upper level is the glazed pavilion, with flying eaves and upturned corners, red columns, and carved beams, elegant and majestic. During the Ming and Qing dynasties, Jinxian Gate was a place for drumming and changing guards. At dawn, the sound of the morning call would drift with the wind and be heard throughout the city, hence the old saying 'Reef Tower Morning Horn'. Jinxian Gate has been repaired several times and is now a landmark ancient building of the city, attracting many tourists to come and check in. Visiting Jinxian Gate, you can taste Jieyang's specialities such as ping pong kueh nearby. You can also walk along the ring road to the left and right of the Jinxian Gate pavilion, trying various late-night snacks at the night market stalls.
