The Kaifeng Millennium City Park, a recreation of the bustling scenes of Bianjing during the Northern Song Dynasty

The Kaifeng Millennium City Park is based on the realistic painting 'Along the River During the Qingming Festival' by the artist Zhang Zeduan. It recreates the urban culture, folk customs, royal gardens, and ancient entertainment of the Song Dynasty, showcasing the bustling scenes of Bianjing at that time. Inside the park, visitors can see famous buildings, restaurants, tea houses, pawnshops, and other civilian daily life facilities of the time. There are also different antique performances every day, such as 'Judge Bao Patrols the Bianjing River,' 'Pan Jinlian and Wu Dalang,' 'Song Dynasty Warship and Horse Performances,' and so on, displaying the folk customs of the time. It is best to avoid visiting during holidays. Entering the park around 3 pm and leaving at night allows visitors to see the daytime scenery as well as enjoy the beautiful views around the Rainbow Bridge under the dazzling night lights. To gain a deeper understanding of Northern Song culture, one can purchase tickets to the 'Dream Back to the Eastern Capital' performance. The ticket includes admission and is quite a good deal as it covers two meals. Kaifeng's attractions are very concentrated, and most can be reached by bus. Taxis are also inexpensive, with a starting fare of only 7 yuan. If time allows, walking is even better. With Longting as the center, attractions such as Tianbo Yangfu, Han Garden, Imperial Street, Kaifeng Millennium City Park, Kaifeng Mansion, and Bao Gong Temple are all nearby.
