Dandong Tianqiaogou Rime Wonderland, a Cold Wave Creates an Ice and Snow Fairy Tale World

Due to the cold wave weather, Tianqiaogou Scenic Area in Dandong City, Liaoning Province, recently welcomed the first rime scenery of this winter. Overnight, the trees on the mountains were covered with sparkling white ice crystals, the green pine branches and standing trees turned into jade-like branches, shimmering with translucent luster in the morning light. The entire forest looks like an ice and snow world from a fairy tale. Tianqiaogou is located in the northern part of Kuandian County, Dandong City. It was once the "Land of Dragon Prosperity" during the Qing Dynasty. It has remained undisturbed for hundreds of years, with dense forests, many ancient trees, clear mountain streams, unique landforms, and various shapes of strange peaks and rocks. The scenic area is large, with more than seventy viewing spots. On the east side, there are four major mountain peak scenic spots including Tiangong and Lotus Peak. On the west side is a wooden plank road, with many other attractions nearby. Visitors strolling here can feel the purity and romance of winter ice and snow, as well as appreciate the wonders of nature. If you are short of energy, you can take the scenic area shuttle bus. It is recommended to take the shuttle bus to climb Lotus Peak and other mountains on the first day, and visit the wooden plank road and Tiangong scenic area on the second day. If time is limited, you can skip the second day’s itinerary. Come to Tianqiaogou and start a magical ice and snow journey!
