I found another Lonely Planet in Kunming

I've always longed for the Yunnan Fantasy Garden, which was built in 1996. The artist has been creating here for over 20 years before it was opened to the public! Coming here with great expectations, I was shocked at first sight! You definitely can't miss this super niche and unpopular garden when you come to Yunnan! 🪅In my impression, only Gaudí's art museum is like this, filled with boundless imagination and creativity. 🛕The exterior of the art museum is a series of giant ant nest forts, built entirely without steel or nails, using over 3 million Yunnan red clay bricks. Inside are caves created by stone pillars, domed ceilings, and granite. When I first walked into the museum, the sunlight just happened to shine through the hole at the top into the hall, and all the artworks were bathed in a warm red light. 👨🏻‍🎨The museum owner and artist, Luo Xu, also known as 'Yunnan's Gaudí', understanding his art story and legendary life will truly move you deeply, and each piece of work is worth pausing and reflecting on; Yunnan's famous Maitreya Eastern Charm and Ant Workshop are his representative works. 💐There is also a large colorful flower sea in the courtyard, with a garden corridor where you can rest and drink tea. ❤️I was especially lucky to meet Mr. Luo Xu himself when I was leaving! So happy! 🪅Tips: 1. There is a coffee house in the Indigenous Nest, where you can drink coffee. The environment is very atmospheric, and there are also some light meals. 2. If you are driving, you can park across the street at the 'Nine Nine One Factory', where there are many parking spaces 3.
