Time to visit Marseille

Despite being the second most populous city in France after Paris, Marseille is not usually on most travellers' list of must-visit cities in France. However, this oldest city in France, founded circa 600 BC, has some characters that make a visit worthwhile. One might visit the city to watch the local team, Olympique de Marseille play in the Stade Vélodrome (or Orange Vélodrome) or come for the smell you can find in the Savon de Marseille (traditional hard soap made from vegetable oils that has been produced here for 600 years). However, some might also treat this as a gateway to the famous region of Provence! I certainly love the smell of Provence and Marseille soap, but not the Pieds paquets (stewed sheep's feet and stuffed sheep's tripe). I am sorry. :( #fallingforfall #marseille
